The scene: Her sire is the Ductus of a pack she is supposed to join. However, the Lasombra Priestess was far from enthusiastic about accepting her. During a one-on-one conversation, she confronted Valeria, trying to provoke her and get under her skin. She saw nothing more than a shy, little girl.

At some point, she picked up a knife and ordered Valeria to stab herself in the chest.

Valeria did so without hesitation. She even found herself enjoying it, in a way.

That was the moment the Lasombra began to see her differently. The knife had to remain embedded in Valeria's chest until the following evening.

Even during her mortal life, Valeria had always felt a strong fascination with flesh. She frequently hurt herself, endlessly fascinated by the sight of her own flesh exposed. Of course, it was also a coping mechanism for her trauma. She had learned early on that love meant violence and pain.

She loves pain more than anything else.

I came up with what I think is a rather interesting idea. A major part of our campaign revolves around the Kindred’s influence over the city and how they have shaped it throughout the centuries.

A long time ago, when we were playing Vampire: The Dark Ages, I created a Lhiannan Gangrel character for some storylines. I’ve been wondering whether bringing him into the modern-day setting would be a good idea. Not much really happened with the character when we played Dark Ages, nor during the period before World War II.

Nowadays, the city where our campaign takes place has a significant herbal, pharmaceutical, and plant-based industry, ranging from herbal teas, botanical drinks, and energy drinks to actual medicines. I’m wondering whether a Lhiannan could take an indirect interest in these industries, seeking to establish some influence over them.

One of the aspects that made me fall in love with VtM was the setting, the darker version of our world that is World of Darkness. Naturally, the fact that you can play in your own city was a huge pull for me, and I fell completely in love with that idea.

Unfortunately, the first ever chronicle I played in, while set in my native Bucharest did not really make the setting shine, it failed in making it feel like Bucharest. That's why when I took my seat behind the screen and started my very first Chronicle, I wanted to make it feel more authentic, with a twist however. I set the action in Bucharest, but during the inter-war period, with quite some time spent researching that particular period of history to make it as authentic as I could.

In my opinion, the city is perhaps the most important aspect of a good VtM chronicle and especially when you first start out, it might be somewhat overwhelming to properly run it and do it justice. It certainly was the case for me. This piece goes into various tips and tricks on how I managed, as well as some stuff I discovered after my chronicle concluded and I am sure to implement when I begin my new chronicle, sometime in the future.

After several princes the Domain of New York stood yet on the break of chaos, some princes died, some left the city in shame. And some, got forced to step down from their corrupt seat by the cities combined Primogen. Now, an Elder of clan Gangrel holds the seat. So I’m trying to make a Frankenstein ( monster) vampire character but I don’t really know what merits or flaws nor do I know clan or disaplans to takes please help me

So I had an idea for a Nosferatu character who isn't so much ugly as he is terrifying for mortals to look at. I took into account in the Bane description that "Most Nosferatu do not breach the Masquerade by being seen, they are instead perceived as gross or terrifying." I wanted to lean into the terrifying, but with a bit of whiplash, because almost everything about him is normal. He doesn't look like a diseased corpse, he has hair, he doesn't smell like rotting flesh, looks pretty average at a first glance.

But then you look him in the eye and that's when reality sets in.

His eyes are like twin rings of firey orange surrounded by a sea of void. The irises glow of their own accord, intensely enough to burn themselves into the retinas of anybody who looks him in the eye, and not something he can pass off as a disease like some people do with their Nossies. The glow is intense enough to where wearing sunglasses isn't enough, the guy has to wear welding goggles or something to that effect to block it out. Even looking a fellow Kindred in the eye is enough to unnerve them, because it looks less that he's a vampire and more like he's been possessed by a demon.

I got this idea from a Tremere character I used to play, she started out extremely loyal to her clan but after being the subject of various blood bonding experiments to try and rebuild the pyramid left her chantry and defected to the anarchs

All normal stuff, but it got me to think, if a kindred was in a similar situation and grew to hate their clan and what it stood for, could they “disown” their sire and clan and declare themselves a willing Caitiff

Obviously “biologically” they would still be of their clan but socially they would denounce any association to the clan, much like a caitiff who was just abandoned by their sire and is still clearly a member of a clan biologically.

My player, a brujah, is always hostile towards the enemies. It’s not like she’s all murder hobo, it’s her characters persona, I get it and I don’t want to block her out of this style as she roleplays and table is happy and I’m happy that she is feeling her character.

BUT

All interactions, and all plans leads the same thing, attacking because all this time it worked for the cotorie but I want them to be more persuasive or approach with different plans.

How can I make her act more pascifist without making it less fun, or am I in the wrong here?

Like, would they just start as a Wight or would a different perspective take hold once the Beast became involved?

Hello people (not people lmao)

I've been wanting to get into VTM for the longest time after playing bloodlines (2004) and watching a couple LA by night sessions during COVID. I'm m trying to convince my friends to also join in. It seems so fun and all.

I have no prior experience with any ttrpgs and my friends had played some dnd in the past. We're all new to vtm.

What resources should I check in order to get a better understanding of ttrpgs in general (and of course vtm). I'm kinda scared trying new things lmao

Any of you make a character who has a sire or brood mate or maybe even a childe who is a lore character? How did you build the relationship?

I've been toying with the idea of Julia Antasia as a sure and a young Ventrue who has a difficult relationship with her and is therefore mostly looked after by his brother Freddie (Friedrich Barbarossa, prince of Frankfurt).

The resulting young low generation could be a real problem tho.

Looking for any good fiction books set in VTM that aren’t source books or clan books, just like a regular book with characters and what not.
