A couple weeks ago, someone posted about a lost bear on board one of our buses. After searching for two weeks, we found the bear!

Paddington really gave us a good run around with a search across several buses in our various facilities. Here are some pictures of Paddington exploring Peoria Charter to brighten up everyone's Friday~

Can anybody living in 502 E White DM me a video of their apartment? I have a viewing for all the way in Nov and need to sign ASAP but I need to know what the unit looks like.

So, yesterday, I was on my way to work and my car suddenly died on me at the intersection of university and lincoln. When I scanned the codes, it came up as p011 (timing skipped) which I should have anticipated at I just had to replace one of the guides a couple months ago and the engine has been getting louder since. I still have the rest of the repair kit, the extra guide I didn't have to replace and the new chain, in my trunk, however due to this incident I ended up getting booked for a traffic ticket I failed to pay fines on and had to be bailed out by a friend that I now owe $1000, plus the remainder of the $2000 I owe the guy I bought the car from. Was just wondering if there were anyone in the area with a timing repair kit that can help me get these sprockets off so I can put in the new timing chain that works for a 2012 malibu 2.4 ecotec? Work will be done in the back lot of the FedEx ground station over on Staley, and I'm perfectly willing and capable of doing the work myself, I just need that sprocket lock to get them off. Willing to treat whoever helps to a meal up to $100 after the repair is done. Just really need to take care of this so I can get back to building back up because of this whole mess. Also because I rather enjoy doing the work myself rather than taking it to a mechanic. (There's just something about that feeling of triumphing over a machine that just DOES NOT want to comply)

I have scoured the dark corners of this subreddit to assemble the warriors who will partake in this ultimate battle of ultimate destiny. Think I missed someone or something to nominate? That's too damn bad cuz my graphic file corrupted and I'm not going to redo it.

No university involvement. No student referendum. No Board of Trustees approval. No actual consequences. Just Illini fans having fun with imaginary mascots. Save your soapbox about bringing back the Chief. This isn't serious.

Nobody is changing our name. We are, and always will be, the Fighting Illini. We're just imagining some poor soul in a giant foam costume running around Memorial Stadium, high-fiving children, harassing opposing mascots, and making an ass of themselves for our entertainment.

Genuinely cannot believe how ignorant it is to stand up, interrupt a lecture, give sarcastic praise to the professor, while continuously clapping at her. VERY disrespectful and ignorant. Especially to a professor who gives us interesting lectures, very gracious enough to give us extensive extra credit, and make us laugh throughout. If you don’t care for the class simply do yourself a favor and don’t come, you have free will. Do not waste the professor time, and students time/energy, who are here to actively learn the material. This is stupid shit, this is high school behavior grow the hell up. That’s why we call them boys and not men.

My friend got sick so I have one VIP ticket for the drag show. If you want to come, let me know and we can meet up, go in, and have a fun time. This includes a chance for meet and greet with the performers. We also get seats so we can sit down during the show.

i just dont understand the costs part of it. i am an ipromsie recipient, so my entire tuition, books, meal plan, and housing are covered completely. i dont pay a dime and i still got like 2000 back for refunds.

if i apply for a university apartment, will the amount they gave me in aid to my resident hall be refunded to me to pay for the apartments rent and utilities? or is that out of pocket?

My buddy recently got his electric bike stolen, and we are trying to do a sort of sting operation on the thieves. We are looking for a high value electric scooter/bike that we can place plenty of trackers on, lock up, and wait till the thieves come to get it. Looking for something that’s broken just in case we don’t get it back and because I don’t really wanna buy a brand new one. If anybody has a biker or scooter they think would work for this Please let me know. If this works, we might end up getting some other people’s stuff back as well.

Smile charges a $300 non-refundable fee, while their email says it covers move-out cleaning: "we take care of the final cleaning."

After I moved out of 507 E Clark, they charged me another $185 for "Full Apartment Cleaning." Their proof was a move-out report where every "heavily stained" appliance was in a completely different apartment (pics: left = my unit, right = the other one).

They admitted the photo mix-up in writing, kept the charge anyway, and sent me two "URGENT: Avoid Collections" emails while I was disputing it.

If you rent from Smile: save the admin fee terms, photograph everything at move-out, and check that the inspection photos are actually your unit.

i know this probably isn’t a great place to ask, but i just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about informal rush or open bidding right now.

i’m currently a freshman and def regret not rushing, i feel like i closed myself off! i never saw myself as a greek girl but i tgink here, obvi depends on the sorority but, its way more my thing than i thought.

i’m just not too sure how to go about it.

I just want people to be aware, I was standing at the bus stop on the corner of W Green and S Neil when some guy rode past on his bike and yelled something, I had both headphones in and didn’t hear him, he ended up looping back around to stick his hand out and slap my ass. He was on a black bike had on a ski mask with a backpack. I’m guessing he was around his thirties. He was black and looked a little heavier than average but not fat.

Like I don’t remember it being this bright before unless there’s lightening. Is this because of the new score board? I thought they would turn it off when there’s no game

hi guys, i’m a pre med student who did freshman year from community college (saving money). i’m an IHS sophomore now and got into UIUC and UIC but ultimately chose uic because of less $$ and better pre med opportunities overall.

i’m def gonna give it more thought as it’s only the first sem n should give it time but am alr thinking of transferring for fall 27 to uiuc.

i’m finding it difficult to adjust to uic and feel that uiuc is better tailored to how i learn. from my experience the rigor in both cc and uic are the same, but the quality of cc’s education was 100x better than uic’s because they give you so many resources to succeed (study guides, flashcards, actual teaching, and extra credit opps). i love learning so much but cant thrive in an environment where im my only teacher and not getting cognitively stimulated, which i feel is jeopardizing my perception of learning, mental health, and grades.

additionally i looove research, so much so that i consider it a hobby of mine because i love writing and projects where i can focus on community wellness. i heard uiuc has great research opps that are super rewarding so i think id be super happy.

finally the social life here is not that great💔💔 i’m generally shy but try to venture out of my comfort zone and talk to people a lot. i hate to say this, im sure there’s sm nice ppl, but everyone here either doesn’t want to socialize because they’re commuting (which is understandable) or is in a big clique. trust me ive tried to talk to people in cliques but it hasn’t been the best experience because it seems that they’re selective w who they talk to and only talk to people in their clique.

i j wanna end this off and say that im so grateful that i even get to have an education, i just need a lil guidance on what would be the best approach for me.
