Positivity What's been giving you gender euphoria, joy, or a little extra spark this week? | Weekly Positivity Thread

There's something uniquely powerful about the moments when we feel seen, affirmed, or simply at home in ourselves. Maybe it was something small, a stranger using the right pronouns without hesitation, catching your reflection and smiling, or finally trying that hairstyle you've been nervous about. Maybe it was something big, a milestone in your transition, a conversation that made you feel understood, or a quiet moment where everything just clicked.

This is our space to collect those moments. Share your euphoria, your happiness, your quiet victories and loud celebrations. Whether it's gender-related or just something that made your week better, we want to hear it.

As always, please keep our community rules in mind and remember that this is a space for celebration, not comparison. Your joy doesn't diminish anyone else's, and every victory, no matter how small it might feel, deserves to be witnessed.

So, what's been making your heart feel a little lighter this week?

Discussion Whats the funniest thing someone has said to you because your trans?

For me it was probably when me and my friend were discussing how I draw some crazy shit in class and the teachers dgaf and they just said "Its- oh shit this is gonna sound rlly transphobic, but they'd probably react worse if you were a boy" like yes bro, no shit they'd react worse if I were OUT TO THEM or biologically a boy. Idk how the teachers haven't realized because all the students know in my grade...

Vent Dysphoria’s catching up on me.

Im actually so mad this is the fourth time i gotta rewrite this so its gonna be short. I dont usually post here but I dont have anyone to tell abt this anyways so at least i can empty it all here

Trigger warning: bad english

So hey. Im 16 ftm and ive known it since forever. Ive always wanted to be a boy as a kid and always felt disgusted/weird abt my body and i learned to live with it since i live in a religious transphobic family and cant really come out. So ive been patiently waitinf to turn 18 to start my transition

So my issue is that ive been staying up all night this week thinking about my body and my life and how miserable i am because of being trans. And whatever i try to distract myself from it doesnt workk like guys pls free me😞😞 tonight is a really good example cause despite texting friends, reading comics, trying to sleep, gooning, scrolling, i just keep on getting back to the spiraling.

And it really annoys me bc im usually a morning person especially during break but i just cant wake up early when i sleep at 4-5.

Epic second part:

Relationships are so ass too cause i just keep thinking my partners think abt it. Like hear me out, ive had this one gf for a bit who was so fucking sweet and nothing abt her was wrong yk? But the thing is she would always complain abt men and say that she could never talk to one n shit and she’d say im ‘different’ but idk how to take it. Different how? Cause im nice? Many guys are. Cause im born a female? Maybe. I never asked her abt it. The only probably two times i talked to her abt my dysphoria was a week or so ago and she barely reacted and switched the subject.

It kind of pisses me off that she doesnt get it bc shes the only person who knows abt it who i can rant to.

Also thats a pretty basic thing but i hate my voice so much. Its so high and it disgusts me. I cant even send voice memos to my online friends anymore bc i get flashbacks of the times i accidentally listened to my own voice memo and i sounded so much like a girl i stopped sending voice memos since then. (Irl friends not included bc im comfortable with them hearing my voice since they already do everyday.)

I lied this wasnt so short after all. I hear footsteps upstairs. I cant believe i stayed up until sm1 wakes up again. Good night im going to bed. Parts/most of this probably dont make sense but its 4 in fhe morning and ive had a long fucking day okay? Im not sure how to end this. Bye.

Me and my sister had a nice talk yesterday and bonded over all the fuck up family shit we have to deal with and talked about the future and career paths. At the end of the conversation i asked her to promise me not to discourage me if we ever disagree on what I want to do with my life (which is a very expectant statement given ik she's homophobic). After that she said "okay, just please don't change your gender" and I have not felt more alone in my house then after that was said, because that was the one thing I wasn't uncertain about and my sister just unknowingly shattered any connection i had with her.

Question A question for my ftm bros

So my ftm bros I wanna know if I can wear sports bra instead of trans tape and binder because I can't buy them without telling my dad and my uncle and aunt (I live with my uncle my mom's brother who is the biggest transphobic in the world). I tried coming out to my dad but he doesn't believe me and I am having very bad dysphoria. I don't know what to do 😭.

Vent Iwhy am I this scared to come out?

I plan on coming out to my mom's tomorrow because we're going on a birthday trip (turned 17 today so that's nice I guess). And obviously I'm scared af, and I don't understand why. My mom has said to me and my sister that she would be accepting of us no matter what, I mean she's married to another woman of course she would be accepting, so why am I so scared to come out?

Ok this doesn't really have a lot it's just I needed to say something because all my friends do is just awkwardly pat me on the back and say that they'll accept me.

Vent I wanna tell him so badly...

For a couple of days now, I've been wanting to tell my best friend that I'm trans (mtf) at school super badly, but I haven't had any time for us to just be alone. He also knows I want to tell him something, but he hasn't asked me about it. I just really want to tell him face to face. I really don't want to text him : "Hey, <insert name> I'm a girl." Because I did that when I came out as bi, and I hated it; i wish i never came out that way.

Today at lunch, I got a tiny bit of alone time with him (for like 3 minutes), and I really wanted to tell him then. But when I tried to speak, nothing came out.

Just wanted to vent, I guess

I honestly thought it wouldn’t be possible for me to even start T till I graduated college because of my parents but I booked my appointment the second I turned 18 and it’s literally been like the best 6 months of my life.

Advice needed Please help me with my questioning

ok so i am a masc lesbian. i became a lot more masc this year, fashion wise, mainly as my mum didnt rly give as many fashion suggestions and i was still differentia between what looks nice and what i want to wear yk.

anyway i have a boyish haircut. people on the streets sometimes call me a boy. idk why, but i love this. so much that i am actively trying to hide that i am a girl. like wearing compressive sports bras and slouching kinda so my chest is hidden. i kinda feel anxious abt people thinking im not male which has never happened before. sometimes i wish i could wake up as male but only sometimes. i told my friends and they are telling me i am a trans man.

idk tho. my grandmas pointed out that last year i bought 2 sarees with my mum and i don’t feel that much like a boy, tho there is this feeling that i am more boy than girl. i thought over it, and i really like the idea of being referred to with he or they pronouns. i also think id like it if i were male but not completely?

im so confused and idk what this is. can anyone here pls help?

Vent I hate being trans + gay (long rant) NSFW

Tw: genitalia

I cut my hair, I wear boy clothes, I wear the boys uniform, I changed my name in the school system. Also change my sex in the school system, but some people still think im a girl, I don't get why, my face has always being naturally masculine, i don't have a high voice. I'm so mad wtf does it take to be a boy. I'm also mad seeing the comments from a lot of social media "i wouldn't date trans guys" "it makes me icky" "not a real boy" "why do they have female genitals" is not like I wanna have one either. Is not like I wanna have a chest either. I just wanna be a cis guy. A lot of my friends in school already have a partner, even the lgbtq ones are already on talking stages. While im just there, would it be easier if I was bi?? I forced myself to liking women but I can't. It'll be so much easier if I was either cis or straight and in neither. It's so hard to find a partner who likes trans people + whos also gay + whos fine with me having a female genitals and a not so flat chest. I fucking hate this. Im never finding a boyfriend.

Discussion I fucked up😭

So I'm 16 and didn't came out to my parents yet, and my not-exactly-accepting mom somehow found my boxers, now I have to explain myself and I'm afraid she might go emotional if I do it wrong way

to make matters worse I tried to hide it again when she left and it all fell behind washing machine. I tried to reach for it but got myself zapped so now I am at complete loss of what to do because I both now have to explain myself and explain why I tried to hide again because I doubt innocent person who just "accidentally" bought wrong thing would hide it

Is there anything I can do atp?

Advice needed Uncertain 😕

I (17) am unsure of my gender identity, and I need advice.

Some context: I used to be a closeted MtF for ~7 months, but switched to AMAB non-binary in September

(until now? again idk)

I can't see myself becoming a cisgender man again at all, but I currently present as your typical AMAB non-binary person. I don't know what to even choose to be, and it makes me mad that I don't know such a core piece of my identity. How do I know for certain if I want to be AMAB non-binary or MtF? Anything helps. 😕😕

Advice needed I feel like idk how to be a boy

I’ve felt like a boy for most of my life but obviously because of being socialized as a girl I don’t know how to properly express my masculine side. I feel self conscious and embarrassed.

Right now I can’t really do any drastic changes to my expression. Some things that give me euphoria are reading, guitar, watching basketball…

I still feel like in public I give GIRLLL and it’s bothering me. I cross my legs unconsciously, I can feel my hips swaying that bothers me, my voice bothers me a lot, and I’m constantly height checking myself against my seniors in my head 😭

Thoughts?

Discussion Passing tips

I wanted to know if anyone had any passing tips to share for others(both FtM and MtF appreciated)!

As a trans guy, I can give two passing tips to start off:

  1. STYLE YOUR HAIR; When I first got a "boy haircut", I still didn't pass even when my hair was short. The problem was that it looks flat and rounder my face out, making me look more feminine. Personally I tie my hair up when it's wet and let it dry while I get ready for school, and it comes out very textured and messy in a masculine way. In all honesty this is what made me stealth. Also, in case you have a chubby face, don't be scared to taper the sides! I have a very rounded face but my fringe actually makes it look square, and it makes me pass so wonderfully when paired with the taper.

  2. DYE YOUR EYEBROWS; Doing this was a life changer for me. You can use eyebrow dye, eyeshadow. or mascara for this and just go to town on your eyebrows. Of course, this only works if your eyebrows are dark and you don't try to imitate more eyebrow hair on bare skin. This brings your passing rate from a %10 to an %100, I promise.

Question i dont know how to be feminine

so i (14 mtf) came out like a year ago, and have changed my name and pronouns, which is all fine, but im just not very feminine. i like wearing baggy jeans and hoodies, and have a low voice (obviously). my hair is also so screwed up and in this awful bob, and its taking ages to grow out and its really difficult to manage, alongside having no skincare routine, being covered in acne, and having a very masculine face. i feel really insecure about this, as i often come across as a guy, but i also want to be myself, and dress how i like. i have little experience in terms of being transgender, and know no other people in the lgbtq+ community. has anyone had similar experiences/does anyone have any advice? thanks in advance xxxx

Vent I need some advice (sw: dysphoria, transphobia, forced religion) Spoiler

So my best friend in the entire world claimed her parents were threatening to send her to a boarding school since they don’t like me at all. Her parents are claimed to be heavily Christian and see all of her friends as demons, and I as the devil (WHAT DID I EVEN DO BLO). She said the only way she could redeem herself is to make them believe that we’re not bad, but… she kind of uses that to her own transphobic advantage.
She’s trying to convert me.

Not just spread the gospel (even then that’d make me uncomfortable), I mean like full on bible lesson every time I mention the word “yaoi” as a joke (I once wrote “duumd yowie” with an alien stage drawing since she likes alnst but then she crossed it out completely and replaced it with a drawing of a cross). She started getting REAL COMFY with referring me to she/her (my cis pronouns) and every time I try to call her out she said “this is what God wanted though, He didn’t want you to be trans, He WANTED you to be a girl” and then before I left the school building today she said this:

“I’ll let you think about converting tonight. Just know it’s a commitment, and if you don’t, then nothing good will happen to you. No pretending, ok?”

I don’t want to become eternally dysphoric (more than I already am due to being in a religious and mostly transphobic area), guilty, and lose my true self for a ”god” that does nothing but torture me. but my friend means so much to me, as if she’s the actual god on land… if I lose her then I don’t know what I’d do.

what do I do?
