Discussion After death

What is it that people believe actually happens after death? My biggest fear is that it is just like a factory reset and you simply just die, no feeling, no seeing, no being abke to eat or dream or sleep or laigh again. But unfortunately thats also my biggest belief. Id like to get some other opinions on this and see things from different points of views.

I'm 17 and the fear of death and nonexistence is keeping me awake at night. How do you cope?

I'm 17 now, and I first started thinking about death when I was around 14. Back then, I didn't take these thoughts too seriously, and they felt normal.

Three months ago, my grandmother passed away, and since then, I've been constantly questioning what happens after death. Over the past week, these thoughts have become much more intense, to the point where I'm struggling to sleep.

I'm terrified of the idea of ceasing to exist, of time passing and never being able to get it back. But at the same time, the thought of living for eternity scares me too. It's like neither possibility gives me peace, and I keep going in circles trying to understand something I may never have an answer to.

Sometimes I get so scared that I start panicking at night. I know nobody has a definite answer about what happens after death, but I can't seem to stop thinking about it.

Has anyone else experienced this? How do you cope with these thoughts, especially when they get overwhelming at night? I'd really appreciate hearing from people who've gone through something similar.

Seeking Support I am afraid of death and nothingness. NSFW

I am struggling with the concept of death. I used to be fine with the idea, but lately, I’ve become extremely afraid of it. I recalled something from my childhood—I would think about death and wonder, "What if there is absolutely nothing after death? What if that’s just it—the end?" That thought terrified me when I was young, and now it has returned as an adult. It causes a feeling of suffocation; it happens when I’m trying to go to sleep or even just while I’m watching something—a sudden wave of fear washes over me, and I end up crying. It has become a major source of distress. I am looking for advice on how to overcome this fear and the suffocating feeling (excluding any religious perspectives).
