Was this on your prediction?
Iga vs Maja. Sonay vs Queen Penko .
I want to see Maja vs Penko. The calm vs the fire.

I’m gonna trust Medvedev to take this, probably in 3 sets.

Obviously an incredible run by Kartal so far in Wuhan, but it's shocking how little of a gap Katie Boulter created with Britain's two best players (Raducanu and Kartal) missing most of the year. Two tournaments in and Kartal is already taking it away from Katie.

Ridiculous to be so thrilled for a team who have won so much. But delighted for them here as they have done literally nothing in doubles since sunshine doubles. And Jasmine has had such a dreadful year. Great to see her play with fight. Would be delighted for them to make WTA finals. They are obviously going fOr it as they are playing doubles next week in Ningbo too and currently in ninth with one team already qualified unable to go.

Ito had match points when Tyra was serving to stay in the match but couldn’t capitalize, but ended up getting it done on her own serve afterwards. Had plenty of break opportunities but the 2 she converted were enough to win in straights!
Aoi will play the winner of [5] Harriet Dart vs. Rina Saigo for a spot in the main draw, while Tyra will have the next two weeks off before heading to Chennai to play qualifiers for the 250 held there.
Bibi takes out last year’s finalist (and finalist in the Adana 125 last week) and saved 8/12 break points along the way! She’ll play Lucie Havlíčková for a spot in the final.
Lucrezia now heads to Wrexham, GB for the ITF W100 being held there next week.

Yamaguchi hit 7 aces while only having an average of 1.6 aces per match the past year. Sofia Kenin things.
Kenin is through to Q2 where top qualifying seed Sinja Kraus awaits.

OU college player Dana Guzman picks up her first top 100 win in her second match of the day, just a few hours after beating Caroline Dolehide. She'll play [5] Sloane Stephens next in the quarterfinal.
