Discussion If we will only have 4~6 ATP/WTA 1000 tournaments per year, which will you like to keep?
Are we having too many 1000 tournaments per year? Players are very tired at the end of the season, and many withdraw from mandatory events.
Which tournaments will you like to keep if we will only have 4-6 events per year?

Post-Match Thread ITF W100 Edmond R2 - K. Penickova def. [3] E. Kalieva 2-6, 6-3, 6-2
Kristina Penickova scores her best win yet by ranking with a victory over third seed and world #112 Elvina Kalieva. Kalieva did have a disadvantage going into this match, as she played her R1 match earlier in the day (a 2h51m grind against Savannah Broadus; Kalieva won 6-3, 6[3]-7, 7-6[4]). Penickova's R1 against Martina Capurro Taborda was played Tuesday before thunderstorms derailed the tournament schedule.
Penickova plays fellow American 17 year old Julieta Pareja in the quarterfinal.

Post-Match Thread Edmond W100 R1: (Q) Guzman def. Dolehide 6-3 3-6 6-2
23-year-old Peruvian qualifier Dana Guzman (currently ranked 529) gets one of the best wins of her career with a three-set victory over #215 (and former top 50) Caroline Dolehide.
Guzman played college tennis for the University of Oklahoma and is coming off her first ITF title, a W35 in Southaven, Mississippi. She's played above W50 level three times in her career - two W100s (including this one) and a W75, all in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Up next for her is (1) Tatjana Maria.

Post-Match Thread Wuhan 1000 QF. J. Paolini and S. Errani (8) d. A. Danilina and S. Zhang (2) 6:3 6:2
Ridiculous to be so thrilled for a team who have won so much. But delighted for them here as they have done literally nothing in doubles since sunshine doubles. And Jasmine has had such a dreadful year. Great to see her play with fight. Would be delighted for them to make WTA finals. They are obviously going fOr it as they are playing doubles next week in Ningbo too and currently in ninth with one team already qualified unable to go.

WTA Iga Świątek is the only active player to reach semifinals in all 4 slams, all WTA 1000s and WTA Finals
And she’s only 25.
r/tennis • u/recurnightmare • 15h ago
WTA Sonay Kartal hadn't played a match since March 17 until Beijing. She's one win away from the British #1 spot.
Obviously an incredible run by Kartal so far in Wuhan, but it's shocking how little of a gap Katie Boulter created with Britain's two best players (Raducanu and Kartal) missing most of the year. Two tournaments in and Kartal is already taking it away from Katie.
