General wifi gaya toh hotspot chala lo is such a normal indian sentence that i never realised it’s basically an infrastructure story lol

wifi dies at home and nobody even panics anymore

phone uthao

Jio 5G hotspot on

laptop connect

continue whatever you were doing 😭

i always thought this was just normal backup behaviour until i saw that only around 1 in 5 indian homes actually has fixed broadband.

then it kinda makes sense why mobile internet became so important here.

getting fibre to a whole city is one thing. getting that fibre inside every gali, building, society, floor and house is another headache entirely.

digging

permissions

society wale uncle

installer timing

random last mile issues

meanwhile mobile network is already there.

and honestly Jio making 5G this cheap/fast basically means your “backup internet” is sometimes faster than the wifi you're backing up 😭

Akash was talking about home broadband again during all the IPO stuff and now i get why JioFiber + AirFiber are such a big part of the next phase.

India kinda skipped straight into “mobile-first everything”.

when your wifi dies do you actually wait for it anymore or just hotspot and forget?

No Flair Vivo V20 (4G) to OnePlus Nord 6

Got this phone for ₹42,500 from an offline store after looking at multiple options, and finally pulled the trigger. It’s been a week so far, and the phone has been super smooth. The camera is decent, and the processor is pretty good too.

The only thing that’s been a little underwhelming is the battery. Honestly, it doesn’t feel like a 9000mAh battery in terms of SOT.

What settings or changes would you recommend to optimise the battery and get better SOT? Also, any other tips or advice for a new user would be appreciated.

You can ask about any questions regarding nord 6

(Used chatgpt for better understanding)

Need help with buying a phone (30-40k)

Hello everyone, I was hoping u suggest me some smartphones in 35-40k( can stretch upto 42k max) .

Main purpose is

  1. It should be able to handle tasks easily upto 4-5 yrs( am I asking more?😶 But I need for longer time because I had realme narzo 30 which I used for like 4-5 yrs no problem at all) .

  2. Gaming especially Bgmi would love if it gets 100+ fps or 80-90 fps is fine too

  3. Camera - decent not too bad but considerable

  4. BIG BATTERY LIFE(Atleast 7000 mAh ig)

And trustable service (as I don't live in tier 1 city service centres here are scarce)

Also heard that motorola services are bad so I'm skipping it and I considered poco for a while but I don't know anything about their service

So pls help me out

Thanks😄

General Switching from Android to iPhone 17. Anything I should know before buying?

I've been using Android all my life and I'm thinking of switching to the iPhone 17. Since I plan to use it for at least 3-4 years, I thought I'd get the latest one I can comfortably afford rather than upgrade again in a couple of years.

I've never used iOS before, so I'm not really sure what to expect.

Most of my stuff is on Google. I use Drive for files, Keep for notes and Google Photos for all my photos and backups. Can I continue using everything as usual on an iPhone, or are there any issues I should know about?

Also, for those who've switched from Android to iPhone, what took you the longest to get used to? Anything you miss about Android or wish you'd known before switching?

And for those who've bought an iPhone in India, where did you get the best deal?

will there be a good sale around diwali

Wanted to upgrade my phone and disappointed with S26 ultra

I wanted to change my phone and go for a samsung flagship. I'm currently using a one plus nord 4.

I went to a store and tried out the S26 ultra. It's so underwhelming. The in-hand feel is not premium at all. The S24 ultra has such a unique design and felt so premium.

On top of that the cameras are okayish ,not really good and there is a shutter delay.

I've always been an android person and just when I wanted to take an android flagship samsung decided to drop the ball. I wish I took the S24 ultra when it was released lol.

I tried my friends iphone 16 pro max and the in-hand feel and cameras felt so premium compared to S26 ultra.

I always used to troll iphones but this experience humbled me

Best phones in a budget of 40-50k

My main concern is a good camera quality and smooth functioning. And ofc it should be a good phone overall but I don't really know anything about phones so I can't really tell which one is actually good

I'm considering nothing, one plus, samsung phones but can't really make a decision and there's something negative about everything I've considered so idk atp

The reviews I've seen here have a lot of technical words I can't understand so please suggest something in um simpler words ig

I got tired of 9 browser tabs per trade, so I built my own Indian stock market workbench. It’s free, open source, and I’d love your roasts and feature requests

Samsung galaxy a56 or Nothing 4a or nord ce 6

Looking for a phone under ₹40k with these hard requirements:

Camera is non-negotiable (main priority – good daylight + usable low light + some versatility)

Screen-on time 8 hours+ easily (I’m a day scholar, moderate-heavy usage: social media, YouTube, some browsing, calls)

Want to use it for at least 3+ years (software support + overall reliability matter)

Prefer something reasonably durable

Current shortlist:

Nothing Phone 4a

Samsung Galaxy A56(almost finalized it but in dilemma as it had mixed reviews (lagging)

OnePlus Nord CE 6

Would really appreciate real-user experiences
