Deck is "White Numen" by AlbaBG
I've been learning about tarot spreads, and have been having trouble finding one that works for me. So I came up with this one, discussed it with my boyfriend, and he suggested the name/metaphor.
I want something that helps me understand my connection and place in the world.
The first card is my inner self. What I'm going through. My health. My personal struggles.
The second is the home. My fiancé and our cat. Our relationship. Our plans.
The third is the world outside. Current events. Friends and family outside the home.
The metaphor comes from an idiom when making tea. You put one pinch of tea leaves for each person drinking, and one for the pot, which often becomes "one for me, one for you, and one for the pot". This is cute, and so it's what I say as I draw the cards.
I shuffle the deck, then place the top three cards face down, one for me, one for you, and one for the pot. I then turn over each card and take a moment to connect it to myself and the card before it.
The way I interpret this draw:
Seven of Pentacles - I've been making slow but steady progress in therapy. My mental health has been rough for a while, but I'm getting to a stable point where I can take stock and take a moment to evaluate things before deciding what to work on next. The illustration depicts an underlying pride in recent achievements. She's standing in her field with her loyal beast of burden, waiting for the right time to harvest her fruit.
King of Swords - We've been through a lot recently. We lost a cat. We're both kind of messed up, and we've been relying on each other for support. As a result, we were exhausted and we kind of had to let things go. We've managed to get a grip on things, and we need to think strategically about how to deal with finances, home repairs, and staying on top of things so that we don't fall back into chaos. The illustration shows a harsh determination. He's strict and demanding, because he knows that sloppiness is how you lose control. His rigidity is about love, he holds his pet with a caring hand, and the pet shows love and comfort in return.
Four of Wands - It was literally my birthday last week. My mum came to spend the weekend with us. We had dinner with friends. We had friends over yesterday to have a moment with those who weren't available on the day. We're also celebrating friends' new jobs and classes. I've been hyperfixated on (gestures aimlessly) the state of the world right now, but I really needed to be reminded that I'm surrounded by people I love and who love me too. The illustration has some sadness to it, but also a lot of care. We're all going through a lot, but we're here for each other, and that's how we make sense of all this and make things better.
I'm happy to get feedback from more experienced people about whether or not my spread makes sense. I'm interested in knowing what you think about my interpretation.
This is one of the first times I've actually sat down to draw cards, and it really connected today.
