Tamil already has an established word for “Dinosaur” which is தொன்மா. தொன் (old/ancient) and மா (animal). This is a neologism. But should we use யாழி to mean Dinosaur? This is an ancient word which has a good scope if revived right?

Hi, I was in Chennai for 2 years during my UG and learnt how to read and write in Tamil. However, I couldn’t learn to speak, even if I try most native speakers don’t understand it because my pronunciation is just bad. How do I improve by myself? I get it doesn't only double after வினைத்தொகை (the root word (verb) on it's own) but it sometimes doesn't double after words like ஈட்டி, வந்து etc which are வினையெச்சம்(?)(the verb that doesn't show who speaks it and tense)

For context,
I'm a Telugu guy who understands Tamil fairly well. I can understand around 70-80% of a typical modern Tamil movie without subtitles. but if it's a 90s rural drama or old movie, something like that, I understand around 50%.

I recently learned the Tamil script.
