DORMANT STRAIN
A STRIKE WITCHES HORROR STORY

### Chapter 1 â The Abandoned Base
Dark clouds pressed low over the coastline, turning the military base into a smear of lifeless grey. A cold wind dragged the smell of wet concrete and something faintly metallic across the empty grounds. Distant thunder rolled over the sea like a slow, heavy breath.
Ernesta Botto made her way toward the entrance, with every step making a dull, steady rhythm. She had expected the usual noise of the 501stâengines, laughter, the clatter of boots. Instead the base sat silent under the weight of the sky.
She slowed.
âHello?â
Her voice vanished into the courtyard as if the air itself had swallowed it.
No answer.
She stepped inside. The corridor lights flickered weakly, casting long, unsteady shadows. The familiar sounds of the wing were gone. No footsteps. No voices. Only the soft groan of the building settling.
âCharlotte? Francesca? Lynette?â
Silence.
She moved deeper, checking rooms one by one. Beds were unmade. Personal items lay where they had been droppedâhalf-folded letters, a hairbrush, a mug still holding cold tea. A chair lay on its side near a doorway. Papers littered the floor like the aftermath of a sudden panic.
It looked as though everyone had fled in the middle of something urgent.
No one had told her.
âMio? Perrine? Sanya? Eila?â
Her voice cracked on the last name.
âIs anybody here?â
Nothing answered.
She reached the hangar and stopped at the threshold.
Striker Units lay scattered across the concrete like discarded shells. Some rested on their sides against the walls. Others had been abandoned mid-maintenance, tools and cables tangled around them. The air smelled of oil and something sharperâcopper, wet and wrong.
Dark stains marked the floor near one workbench. More residue streaked a section of wall. Beyond them, strange red symbols had been painted across the concrete in thick, uneven strokes. The shapes did not look human.
Ernesta crouched, fingers hovering above the nearest mark.
âWhat happened here?â
A faint crimson glow pulsed from a doorway at the far end of the hangar.
She straightened.
âHello?â
For a moment she thought she saw movement in the dark.
Then a voice drifted out of it.
âErnesta.â
She froze.
She knew that voice.
âYoshika?â
No reply.
She took a cautious step forward.
âWhere is everyone? Iâve called for Charlotte, Francesca, Lynette, Mio, Perrine, Sanya, Eila⊠the maintenance crewâSeiler, Stigler, Unwin, Yoshida. No one answered.â
The silence thickened.
Yoshikaâs voice returned, soft and wrong.
âYouâre asking the wrong questions.â
Outside, thunder rolled closer. The hangar doors creaked under the wind.
Ernesta looked at the scattered Strikers, then at the crimson glow.
Whatever had emptied the base, Yoshika seemed to know. And Ernesta already felt the cold certainty that she would not like the answer.
She stepped through the doorway.
The darkness closed around her like a mouth.
### Chapter 2 â The Girl in the Darkness
The room beyond was colder than the hangar. A weak crimson light pulsed from somewhere deeper inside, staining the walls the colour of old blood.
Ernesta moved carefully.
âYoshika? Is that you?â
No answer.
Her eyes adjusted slowly. The air smelled of damp stone and something organic, faintly sweet and rotting. The walls looked older here, the concrete cracked and stained.
Then she saw the figure.
Someone sat hunched against the far wall, head bowed, uniform torn and hanging in damp folds.
Ernestaâs chest loosened for a single heartbeat.
âYoshika?â
The figure did not move.
She approached.
âThank goodness. Iâve been looking everywhereââ
The figure raised its head.
Ernestaâs relief died.
Yoshikaâs eyes were bloodshot, the whites almost entirely red. Her expression was empty, as if the muscles of her face had forgotten how to form emotion. When she stood, the motion was slow and jointed, like something learning to use a body it no longer owned.
Coarse patches of fur had begun to push through her skin along the jaw and collarbone. On her forearms, the familiar blue magical circles were blackened at the edges, as though they had been burned from the inside.
âWhat happened to your magic?â
Yoshika looked down at her hands.
The circles glowed blue for a moment.
Then the light curdled into deep crimson.
She curled her fingers slowly.
âMagic is not a gift,â she whispered. The voice was Yoshikaâs, but thinner, stretched over something else. âItâs a dormant strain.â
âNo. Yoshika, stop. Whatever this isââ
Yoshika advanced. Ernesta backed away. âYoshika, please!â She turned and ran.
Behind her, Yoshika simply watched from the doorway. She did not chase. That stillness was worse than pursuit. It felt like being observed by something that already knew the outcome.
Ernesta fled through corridors that no longer felt familiar. Older walls. Weaker lights. A cold draft that carried the same metallic sweetness.
She found a heavy metal door half-hidden behind a panel. The same red symbols had been carved into its surface, deep and deliberate. They looked less like decoration and more like a seal.
She pushed.
The door groaned open on a narrow staircase descending into red-tinged dark. From below came a low mechanical hum, steady and patient.
Ernesta stared down the steps.
If answers existed, they were waiting in that light.
She descended.
### Chapter 3 â Truth Beneath the Wings
The staircase ended at another metal door. Beyond it lay a laboratory that smelled of dust, old oil, and the faint copper tang of dried blood.
Cabinets lined the walls. Tables held abandoned equipment. Papers lay scattered as though someone had searched the room in desperation and then left.
Ernesta approached the central worktable.
The documents spoke of magical output, biological response, and the relationship between witches and Neuroi.
One page carried a line in heavy black ink:
CESSATION OF MAGICAL OUTPUT DOES NOT INDICATE RECOVERY. IT INDICATES PROGRESSION TO THE NEXT STAGE.
She turned another sheet.
THE SUBJECTâS LOSS OF MAGIC MAY NOT BE THE END OF THE PROCESS. IT MAY BE THE POINT AT WHICH THE PROCESS BECOMES IRREVERSIBLE.
A handwritten note at the bottom:
CONTAINMENT DELAYS PROGRESSION. IT DOES NOT REVERSE IT.
Her hands began to shake.
Further into the room, large mechanical structures stood against the far wall. Their shapes recalled Neuroi components, but modified, grown into something that looked half-machine, half-organism.
Inside them, the witches of the 501st hung suspended.
Charlotte. Francesca. Lynette, Perrine. Sanya, Eila, and the others
Their bodies were held by metal supports that pierced and cradled them. Tubes and cables connected to their lower bodies as if the machines had begun to grow into them. Their eyes were closed. Their chests rose and fell with the slow, regular rhythm of something kept alive rather than living.
âCharlotte?â
No response.
âFrancesca? Lynette?â
Nothing.
Ernesta reached toward Eila and could not touch her. The machinery would not allow it.
âIâll get you out,â she whispered. The promise felt thin in the humming dark. âI promise.â
She left the laboratory with the words still burning behind her eyes.
Containment delays progression.
It does not reverse it.
### Chapter 4 â Crimson Eye
A narrow passage led upward. Ernesta emerged onto the roof into thick grey mist that hid the sea and the sky.
Someone stood near the edge.
âMio?â
Mio Sakamoto turned. Her eye patch was gone. The eye beneath glowed a deep, pulsing crimson, the colour of neuroi.
âErnesta.â
âI found them. The othersâtheyâre in machines under the base. I donât know how to free them.â
âI know.â
The words landed like a stone. âYou know?â
âIâve been trying to understand what happened here.â
Mioâs voice was calm, but the crimson eye never stopped watching.
âThe facility was investigating the relationship between magic and the Neuroi. The researchers began to suspect magic was not simply an ability. They believed it was part of a biological process that could change⊠or develop.â
Ernesta remembered the documents.
âAnd losing magic didnât mean the process was ending.â
âIt meant the process had advanced beyond what they could measure.â
Mio looked out into the mist.
âThe containment runes were designed to delay it. They never discovered whether the changes could be reversed. They only bought time.â
The crimson light in her eye brightened for a moment, then settled.
âYoshika has begun changing in the way they feared most.â
Ernestaâs throat felt tight.
âCan they be saved?â
Mio did not answer at once.
âBe careful, Ernesta. Find out what Yoshika knows. And do not assume that what you are seeing is the whole truth.â
Ernesta returned to the dark.
### Chapter 5 â The Last Healing Spell
She found Yoshika standing near a window in one of the older corridors. The crimson markings on her arms glowed faintly through the torn sleeves.
âYoshika.â
Yoshika turned. Those bloodshot eyes settled on her.
âI found the laboratory. I know about the machines. I know what the researchers wrote.â
Yoshika said nothing.
âPlease. Help me understand. The others are trapped. I donât know how to get them out.â
Yoshika raised one hand.
âI can try to heal you.â
Ernesta stared at her, confusion cutting through the fear.
âHeal me?â She took a half-step back. âIâm not hurt. Why would youââ
Her eyes flicked to the blackened edges of the circles on Yoshikaâs arms, to the empty expression, to the patches of fur that shouldnât be there.
âYoshika⊠whatâs wrong with you? Why are you saying that?â
Yoshika did not answer. The blue magical circle began to form around her palm anyway.
Ernestaâs pulse spiked.
âStop. I donât need healing. Youâre the one whoâsââ
The light looked almost familiar for a second. Then the edges darkened. The blue bled into crimson. A crystalline shape pushed outward from the centre, lengthening, sharpening, until it was a jagged crimson shard.
âYoshika⊠what is that?â
Yoshika did not answer.
âStop. Please!â
Yoshika advanced.
Ernesta ran.
She made it into the hangar before Yoshika appeared in the doorway behind her. Ernesta backed against a workbench, one hand raised.
âStay back. Please. I donât want to fight you.â
Yoshika lunged.
The shard drove into Ernestaâs side.
Pain exploded white and absolute. She cried out and collapsed. The shard tore free and clattered onto the concrete, still glowing.
Ernesta stared up at Yoshika, disbelief louder than the pain.
âYoshika⊠why?â
Yoshikaâs face remained empty.
Ernesta dragged herself backward, then forced herself upright and staggered into the corridor. Yoshika followed at a measured pace, never hurrying, never speaking.
Back in the hangar, Ernesta pressed a hand to the wound. The familiar warmth of her magic did not answer.
She tried again.
Nothing.
âWhy isnât it healing?â
She stared at her hand, then at the fallen shard, then at Yoshika.
She had wanted answers.
Instead she had been given this.
### Chapter 6 â Abandoned in the Mist
The hangar held its silence like a held breath.
Ernesta braced against the workbench, hand pressed to the wound. Every attempt to call her magic ended in the same hollow nothing.
Yoshika stood a short distance away, crimson markings glowing softly.
âWhy?â Ernestaâs voice trembled. âYou said you could heal me. I believed you.â
Yoshika did not answer.
âDid you do something to my magic? I saw your circle turn. Is that what happened to you? Is that why youâre changing?â
The markings on Yoshikaâs arms brightened.
Ernesta flinched.
She tried again to summon power. The effort left her shaking and empty.
âI donât understand,â she whispered. âIâm scared.â
For a fleeting instant something familiar flickered in Yoshikaâs eyesârecognition, or regret. Then it vanished.
The red symbols on the floor began to glow. Crimson light traced the strange geometry across the concrete, then faded again.
Outside, the mist thickened.
Ernesta stood injured and magicless before the thing that still wore her friendâs face, waiting for an answer that never came.
### Chapter 7 â The War Ends When the Hosts Are Fully Integrated
Neither of them moved.
âI found the laboratory,â Ernesta said. âI read the documents. I saw the others. I know the researchers believed the process continued after magic was gone.â
Yoshikaâs eyes remained fixed on her.
âThen you understand.â
âNo, I donât! What does integration mean? What are we being integrated with?â
Yoshika looked down at the markings on her arms.
âThe containment only delayed it.â
âDelayed what?â
âThe process.â
âWhat process?â
Yoshikaâs voice was almost gentle.
âThe war ends when the hosts are fully integrated.â
Ernestaâs breath caught.
âThe hosts? Are you saying weâre the hosts? All of us?â
Yoshikaâs gaze dropped to the symbols on the floor.
âThe machines are keeping them contained while the process continues.â
âCharlotte. Francesca. Lynette. Perrine. Sanya. Eila⊠are they going to become like you?â
Yoshika did not answer.
âIs there a way to stop it? Can it be reversed?â
âThe researchers never found a way.â
Ernestaâs voice rose, cracking.
âThey could have been wrong! They might not have understood it well enough!â
Yoshika remained still.
Ernestaâs anger bled into fear.
âI donât want to lose everyone. I donât want to lose you.â
For a moment the familiar expression returned to Yoshikaâs face. Then it was gone.
The containment markings brightened once more, illuminating the scattered equipment in brief, bloody light before fading.
âThe researchers only bought time,â Ernesta whispered.
She looked at Yoshika and asked the question that had no answer.
âPlease. Donât let this be the end.â
Outside, the mist continued its slow advance across the abandoned grounds.
### Chapter 8 â The Nightmare Deepens
The hangar grew darker, though the lights had not changed.
Mist began to seep beneath the doors.
Ernesta looked at her hands, turning them over as if she expected to find the change already written there.
She tried to summon her magic.
A faint flicker of warmth answeredâthen vanished.
âNoâŠâ
She tried again. Nothing.
âI need to wake up.â The words slipped out. âThis is a nightmare. It has to be.â
The floor was solid. The workbench was cold. The wound still throbbed.
Everything felt real.
The mist thickened, swallowing the far end of the hangar. Through it, Ernesta saw shapesâfamiliar silhouettes standing together in the fog.
âCharlotte? Francesca? Lynette?â
She stepped forward.
âWait! Itâs me! Iâll get you out!â
The figures remained indistinct. The fog between them grew denser. One by one the silhouettes dissolved.
âNo! Please!â
She reached out. The distance between her and the vanishing shapes stretched impossibly.
Yoshika was only a shadow wrapped in crimson light.
âWhatâs happening?â Ernesta cried.
The last figure disappeared.
She stood alone in the mist, turning in every direction.
âCharlotte? Lynette? Anybody?â
No answer.
She squeezed her eyes shut.
âI donât want this. I donât want to lose them. I donât want to lose myself.â
The darkness closed in.
âI DONâT WANT THIS!â
Her cry was swallowed by the fog.
### Chapter 9 â The Next Stage
Yoshikaâs voice came out of the silence.
âItâs not just witches, Ernesta.â
Ernesta stared at her.
âMages will soon fall victim to the process, too.â
âHow? Why would it happen to me?â
âIt takes longer for them. The process affects them differently. But it still progresses.â
Ernesta tried again to call her magic. Nothing answered.
Her legs gave way. She fell to her knees beside the workbench. Tears welled.
She wiped her cheeksâand froze.
Something dark streaked across her fingers.
She raised her hand closer to her face. The substance was thick, black, and warm.
Her tears were black.
âNoâŠâ
Fresh tears slipped down. The dark residue left streaks on her skin.
âWhatâs happening to me?â
Yoshika looked down at her.
âErnesta, youâre already in the next stage.â
Ernesta shook her head violently.
âNo! I canât be!â
She tried to wipe her face. The black substance only spread further.
âI donât want to become like you. I donât want to lose my magic. I donât want to lose myself.â
She looked at her hands again. The black tears continued to fall.
For the first time she could no longer pretend the process belonged only to Yoshika or the witches in the machines.
It was happening to her.
And she had no idea how far it would go.
### Chapter 10 â This Canât Be Happening
Ernesta remained on her knees, staring at the black residue coating her fingers. She rubbed her hands against her uniform, trying to scrape it away. It clung.
Dark lines had begun to branch beneath the skin of her wrists, creeping along her forearms. Faint black discoloration spread under her collar. Tiny crystalline flecks appeared across the backs of her hands. Her skin looked unnaturally pale wherever the markings passed.
She pulled back her sleeves, searching for any sign that she was imagining it.
The markings were there.
She looked down at her prosthetic.
The familiar surface had darkened. Irregular black patterns spread across the outer casing. The joints looked discolored. Between several connecting sections the material had become dark and uneven.
Then she saw the residue.
A thick black substance was slowly seeping through the joints, gathering along the seams before trailing down the prostheticâs surface.
âNoâŠâ
She reached toward it, then stopped, afraid of what her fingers would find.
âThis canât be happening.â
An air-raid siren began to wailâdistorted, wavering, far too loud. The sound filled the hangar like something alive and in pain.
Fog poured through the open doorways, swallowing the Striker Units and the workbenches.
Through the mist she saw two figures standing together at the far end of the hangar.
One was Yoshika, crimson markings glowing, patches of fur still visible on her skin.
Beside her stood Seiler.
Ernestaâs breath stopped.
Dark markings spread across Seilerâs skin. Black discoloration crept along her arms. Her eyes were hollow and wrong. The same corrupted signs that marked Yoshika marked her as well.
Seiler did not move. She only watched.
âSeiler?â Ernestaâs voice cracked. âItâs me!â
Neither figure responded.
âPlease, say something!â
The siren screamed.
Ernesta stumbled backward. Black tears ran down her face. Her hands reached helplessly toward her best friend.
âPlease! You canât be like this! Not you!â
When she tried to call out again, the words emerged wrongâharsh, metallic, distorted until she barely recognised her own voice.
She covered her mouth in horror.
Even her voice was changing.
âPLEASE!â
The cry came out broken and metallic.
âThis canât be happening!â
The fog swept higher. The crimson lights became formless blurs in the swirling dark.
Ernesta reached toward Seiler one last time.
âPlease! Iâm scared! I donât want this!â
Her words were almost unrecognisable beneath the distortion.
âSEILER! PLEASE!â
The mist engulfed everything.
Ernesta screamed.
âTHIS CANâT BE HAPPENING!â
Ernesta woke with a sharp gasp.
She bolted upright in her bed, breathing hard, body damp with sweat. For a moment she stared around the room, disoriented, heart hammering as she tried to understand where she was.
The hangar.
The fog.
The siren.
Seiler standing beside Yoshika.
Her corrupted prosthetic.
She looked down at her right leg at once.
It was normal.
She ran trembling fingers over the familiar surface. No black residue. No strange discoloration. No sign of the corruption she had seen.
She checked her hands.
No dark markings.
No black tears.
Her magic was still her own.
Ernesta drew a shaky breath.
âIt was a dreamâŠâ
Her voice sounded normal.
She pressed a hand to her chest, trying to slow her racing heart.
âIt was just a nightmare.â
Beside her, Seiler stirred beneath the blankets.
âErnesta?â
Seiler sat up sleepily, then immediately noticed Ernestaâs frightened expression and uneven breathing.
âWhatâs wrong? Are you all right?â
Ernesta turned toward her.
For a moment she could only stare.
Seiler was there. Safe. Familiar. Herself.
The relief hit so suddenly that tears filled her eyes.
âSeilerâŠâ
âIâm here. Whatâs happened?â
Ernesta reached for her and pulled her into a tight embrace.
Seiler was startled for a second, then wrapped her arms around Ernesta at once.
Ernesta buried her face against Seilerâs shoulder, her whole body trembling as the fear finally caught up with her.
âI thought Iâd lost you,â she sobbed.
Seiler held her close.
âLost me? What do you mean?â
Ernesta struggled to explain between tears.
âI had this horrible nightmare. The base was abandoned, and Yoshika was infected. Everyone was changing, and thenâŠâ She drew a shaky breath. âThen I saw you standing beside her. You were infected, too.â
Seilerâs arms tightened.
âOh, ErnestaâŠâ
âMy leg was changing. There was this black substance coming out of the joints, and my hands were covered in it. I couldnât use my magic, and even my voice sounded different.â Ernesta clutched Seilerâs uniform. âI kept begging for it to stop, but nothing worked.â
Seiler listened quietly, letting Ernesta tell her everything she had witnessed.
âThe fog was everywhere. There was an air-raid siren, and I couldnât get away. I saw you standing there, but you wouldnât answer me.â
Her voice broke again.
âI thought it was really happening. I thought I was losing myself, and I couldnât save you.â
Seiler gently rested a hand against the back of Ernestaâs head.
âItâs all right. Iâm here.â
Ernesta lifted her face slightly, tears still running down her cheeks.
âBut it felt so real.â
âI know. Nightmares can feel terribly real when youâre in them.â
Ernesta looked at her, still frightened.
âYouâre really here?â
Seiler gave her a reassuring nod.
âIâm right here, Ernesta. Look at me.â
Ernesta did.
Seiler was herself. Her expression was warm and concerned, and her arms remained wrapped around Ernesta.
âIâm here for you,â Seiler said softly. âYouâre safe. It was a nightmare, and youâre not facing it alone.â
Ernesta let out a trembling breath and rested her head against Seilerâs shoulder again.
âPlease, stay with me for a little while.â
âOf course.â
Seiler held her gently while Ernesta continued to cry, letting her take all the time she needed.
Gradually Ernestaâs breathing began to settle. The frightening images still lingered, but she could feel Seilerâs embrace and hear her quiet, reassuring voice.
Her friend was safe.
Her prosthetic was unchanged.
The black substance was gone.
And the nightmare, however terrifying it had been, was over.
Ernesta closed her eyes, keeping her head against Seilerâs shoulder.
âThank you,â she whispered.
Seiler gently squeezed her hand.
âYou donât have to thank me. Iâm here for you, Ernesta. Everything is all right.â
For now, Ernesta held on to those words, letting herself rest in the comfort of her best friendâs embrace.
### Chapter 11 â A Quiet Breakfast
Morning sunlight streamed through the windows of the base, filling the corridors with a warmth that felt worlds away from the darkness of Ernestaâs nightmare.
The sky outside was clear.
The sea glittered in the distance.
The familiar sounds of the base had returned: footsteps in the corridor, quiet conversation, the clatter of dishes from the dining room.
Everything was ordinary.
And Ernesta had never been more grateful for ordinary things.
She sat at a table in the dining room, looking down at her breakfast. She had barely touched it.
Her right leg rested comfortably beneath the table, its prosthetic unchanged. Her hands looked normal. When she flexed her fingers, her magic answered with the familiar sensation she had always known.
There were no black tears.
No dark markings.
No crimson glow.
It had all been a nightmare.
Yet the memory remained vivid enough to make her pause whenever she thought about it.
Across from her, Seiler noticed her staring at her plate.
âYou havenât eaten much.â
Ernesta looked up.
âSorry. Iâm trying.â
Seiler gave her a gentle smile.
âYou donât have to rush.â
Ernesta picked up her fork and took a small bite. She chewed slowly, then set it down again.
Seiler didnât press her. She simply stayed beside Ernesta, offering the quiet reassurance of her company.
After a little while, someone approached their table.
âAre you feeling all right?â
Ernesta looked up.
Mio stood nearby, her expression warm but concerned.
Ernesta hesitated.
âIâm feeling better.â
Mio pulled out a chair and sat with them.
âSeiler mentioned that you had a difficult night.â
Ernesta glanced at Seiler, who gave her an encouraging nod.
âI had a nightmare,â Ernesta admitted.
Mio folded her hands on the table.
âWould you like to tell me about it?â
Ernesta looked toward the window. Sunlight fell across the floor. She could see members of the wing moving about outside.
For a moment she remembered the abandoned hangar from her dreamâthe scattered Striker Units, the strange red markings, Yoshika standing in the darkness.
She took a slow breath.
âIn the nightmare, I arrived at the base and everyone was gone. I searched the corridors and the hangar, but nobody answered me.â
Mio listened quietly.
âThen I found Yoshika. She looked⊠wrong. Her eyes were bloodshot, and there were strange markings on her arms. She told me magic wasnât a gift, that it was some kind of dormant strain.â
Ernesta lowered her gaze to her hands.
âI found a hidden laboratory beneath the base. The others were trapped in machines, and there were documents about a process the researchers couldnât reverse.â
Mioâs expression grew more serious, but she didnât interrupt.
âThen I found you on the roof. You explained that the researchers thought the process could continue even after a witch lost her magic.â
She paused.
âAnd then Yoshika attacked me.â
Seiler moved a little closer.
Ernesta drew a shaky breath.
âI couldnât understand why. I tried to use my magic, but it wouldnât work. Yoshika told me the process was continuing, and that mages could be affected too.â
She looked down at her fingers.
âMy tears turned black.â
Mioâs expression softened.
âIn the dream, I thought I was changing. I couldnât stop it, and I couldnât help anyone. Then my prosthetic changed too. There was this black substance coming out of its joints.â
Ernestaâs voice trembled.
âAnd then I saw Seiler standing beside Yoshika. She looked infected, just like her. I called out, but she wouldnât answer.â
Seiler gently placed her hand over Ernestaâs.
âIâm right here.â
Ernesta nodded, grateful for the reminder.
âI know. I saw that when I woke up. But in the nightmare, I really thought Iâd lost you.â
Mio gave her a moment before speaking.
âThat sounds frightening, Ernesta. Especially because you were trying so hard to protect everyone, and nothing you did seemed to work.â
Ernesta looked at her.
âI kept thinking that if I could just understand the process, I could save them. But I couldnât find a way.â
âYou donât have to solve every frightening thing on your own,â Mio replied. âAnd a nightmare isnât a prediction of what will happen.â
Ernesta was quiet.
Mio continued gently.
âYou were afraid of losing your friends. That doesnât mean you will lose them.â
Seiler squeezed Ernestaâs hand.
âWeâre all here.â
Ernesta glanced around the dining room.
Nearby, Charlotte was talking with Francesca. Lynette sat with Perrine, while Sanya and Eila shared a quiet conversation at another table. Other members of the wing moved in and out of the room, carrying breakfast and greeting one another.
They were all safe.
They were all themselves.
Yoshika was there too, talking with the others as though nothing terrible had ever happened.
Ernesta watched her for a moment.
The Yoshika from her nightmare seemed impossible to reconcile with the familiar girl across the room. There were no crimson markings, no empty expression, no sign of the terrifying changes Ernesta had witnessed.
Yoshika noticed her looking and waved.
Ernesta managed a small wave in return.
Her shoulders relaxed slightly.
Mio followed her gaze.
âSometimes a frightening dream stays with us long after we wake up,â she said. âYou donât have to pretend it didnât upset you. Just remember that youâre here, with people who care about you.â
Ernesta nodded.
âThank you, Mio.â
Mio smiled.
âOf course.â
For a few moments they sat together in comfortable silence.
Then Seiler nudged Ernestaâs plate gently toward her.
âNow, how about finishing some breakfast?â
Ernesta looked down at her food.
For the first time that morning, she smiled.
âAll right.â
She picked up her fork and took another bite.
It was a small thingânothing more than an ordinary breakfast shared with friends. Yet every familiar sound and every ordinary moment seemed precious after the nightmare she had endured.
She could hear Charlotte laughing.
She could see Francesca gesturing excitedly as she told a story.
She could hear Lynette responding softly, and Perrine making a remark that caused Sanya to smile.
Seiler sat beside her, warm and reassuring, her hand resting near Ernestaâs.
Mio remained with them, making sure Ernesta had time to settle.
The morning continued.
Ernesta ate a little more, and as she did, the tension that had followed her out of sleep gradually began to ease.
The nightmare had felt real.
The fear had been real.
But the things she had feared had not happened.
Her magic was still hers.
Her prosthetic was unchanged.
Her tears were ordinary tears.
And her friends were safe.
Ernesta glanced at Seiler.
âIâm glad youâre here.â
Seiler smiled.
âIâm glad Iâm here, too.â
Ernesta leaned gently against her friendâs shoulder for a moment before sitting upright again.
Outside, the sunlight continued to brighten the base.
There were duties to attend to, conversations to join, and another ordinary day waiting for the 501st Joint Fighter Wing.
Ernesta knew she might remember the nightmare for a while. She might think about the abandoned base, the crimson markings, and the frightening things Yoshika had said.
But she no longer had to face those memories alone.
She looked around the table at the people who mattered to her.
Then she picked up her fork again.
âRight,â she said quietly. âI think Iâm ready to finish breakfast.â
Seiler gave her an approving smile, and Mio rose to return to her own duties.
Ernesta took another bite as the dining room carried on around her.
The sun shone through the windows.
Her friends were safe.
And for now, that was enough.
The nightmare was over.
Morning had come, and Ernesta was home.

BW 502nd OC Waltrud Schuck
(comment thank you)
Waltraud Schuck born in Saarland, Karlsland is an elite mage combatant who distinguished herself through her military training, combat experience, and service on several important fronts during the Second World War. In early 1941, she was deployed to the Eastern Front, where she fought against the Neuroi and gained valuable experience in the harsh conditions of the eastern theater. In mid-1941, she was assigned to the Eismeer Arctic convoy operations, defending vital Allied supply lines against Neuroi attacks and helping protect the transport routes that kept the front supplied. Her performance in these operations established her reputation as a capable and experienced elite witch. In September 1941, Schuck was transferred to the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing, where she continued her service alongside witches other experienced mages along with making friends with a Baltland mage named Heglund defending humanity against the Neuroi threat. Her experience on the Eastern Front and in the Arctic made her a valuable addition to the unit, bringing knowledge of both conventional combat operations and the challenges of defending strategically important supply routes.
Waltraud Schuck is a shy, soft-spoken, and somewhat nervous Karlsland mage who can be hesitant around unfamiliar people despite being an elite combatant. Although she sometimes lacks confidence in social situations, her military training and battlefield experience have taught her to remain dependable when others need her. Having fought on the Eastern Front in early 1941 and later defended vital supply lines during the Eismeer Arctic convoy operations, Waltraud has proven herself capable under pressure. Waltraud shares a close friendship with Solveig Heglund, a fellow mage whom she trusts and feels comfortable around. Their friendship allows her to relax and show a more open side of her personality. She is deeply loyal to those she considers friends and worries about their safety, sometimes putting their needs ahead of her own. After transferring to the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing in September 1941, Waltraud must adjust to her new comrades and the challenges of serving alongside witches. She gradually becomes more comfortable with witches such as Aleksandra I. Pokryshkin, Nikka Edvardine Katajainen, and Waltraud Krupinski, learning to trust their abilities and work alongside them. Though naturally reserved and occasionally anxious, Waltraud is a courageous mage who can overcome her fears when the people she cares about are in danger.
Ability: Boreas Surge â Waltraud channels magical energy into surrounding wind currents, amplifying their force to unleash powerful gusts and concentrated air-pressure blasts. She combines this ability with enhanced aerial maneuverability, defensive wind barriers, and energy-charged attacks, allowing her to disrupt Neuroi formations, deflect incoming projectiles, and strike enemies with sudden bursts of wind from unexpected angles.

SW Chris Barkhorn
(do comment in section)
Chris Barkhorn is a young Karlslandic girl and the younger sister of Gertrud Barkhorn. Her life changed dramatically following a Neuroi attack that left her in a coma. After suddenly awakening, Chris discovered that she had become a witch, a revelation first recognized by her new friend Aina, who detected her magical potential after coming to her aid. News of Chris's awakening and transformation would also bring significant changes to her relationship with Gertrud, who had always cared deeply for her younger sister. Chris also came to look up to Stigler, developing a bond of trust and respect with her as another important figure in her life. In early 1942, Chris and Aina were transferred to the Maginot Detachment in Gallia, serving near the Noble Witches Joint Fighter Wing. As Chris adjusted to her unexpected transformation and newfound abilities, Gertrud remained an important part of her life, concerned for her sister's safety while recognizing her determination to serve. Stigler also became someone Chris admired and learned from, offering her another source of encouragement as she faced her new circumstances. With Gertrud's support, Stigler's example, and Aina's friendship, Chris gradually began finding her place among her new comrades, learning to embrace her identity as a witch and face the challenges of her new military career.
Chris Barkhorn is a cheerful, friendly, and determined young witch who is still adjusting to her magical abilities after awakening from a coma. As Gertrud Barkhorn's younger sister, she admires her older sister's strength and shares a similar ability to enhance her physical power. Chris also develops a close bond with Stigler, someone she deeply respects and looks up to, and Aina, her new friend who supports her as she discovers more about herself and her abilities. Despite her cheerful nature, Chris understands the dangers of fighting the Neuroi and wants to protect the people she cares about. Her considerable superhuman strength allows her to deliver powerful strikes and handle heavy weapons in combat. With Gertrud's example, Stigler's guidance, and Aina's friendship, Chris strives to become a capable witch in her own right while cherishing the important bonds she shares with all three.
Ability: Superhuman Strength â Chris can use her magic to greatly enhance her physical strength and endurance, allowing her to wield heavy weapons, deliver devastating punches, and unleash powerful strikes against Neuroi. Similar to her older sister Gertrud, she possesses considerable raw power, which she can channel into both close-quarters combat and heavy weapon attacks. Her enhanced strength also improves her ability to withstand demanding battles, making her a formidable combatant despite being relatively new to life as a witch.

Compendium The World of Witches (46): INFLUENCER WITCHES
HELLO EVERYONE, and I've come with this week Compendium of Witches Topic, HAHAHAHA...I can't believe all the topics of the previous poll tied, and with a 666...how poetic, I love it, as such and per the rules I will talk about ALL OF THEM, not all of them in one week, but I will do so...so be prepared for it!
And we will begin with INFLUENCER WITCHES., Second next week will be MOST INSANE NEUROI KILLS and finally it will be EXTRASOLAR PLANETS.
WIthout further to explain..LET'S DIVE IN!
-----------------------------------------------
Introduction: Cosmos Wide Web Stars
As weâve mentioned before, the 2000s were an age in media dominated by the arrival of reality tv when it came to Witches as people were fascinated with understanding and learning all about Aquarian Witches, and the arrival of the internet only made this easier...especially when large video streaming websites appeared around 2005, large prestige studios would film high quality documentaries where these Witches were unveiled for the world.
However a couple of Witches felt that was too formal and some opted for a more direct approach thanks to the internet...they could pick a camera and upload the content themselves...and by 2009, the era of âInfluencer Witchesâ had begun, Witches who decided to use the video platforms to provide entertainment, their ideas or any other silly thing they wanted to share with the world.
So, we will dive in into this topic and learn, who the most notorious Influencer Witches are:
Â
Brief Background History
The first video featuring Witches was uploaded in 2002 and it is only a compilation of video footage from the Second Neuroi War showing the various Witches, followed by many others similar with archive purposes.
But the actual first video of a Witch picking a camera and uploading the video to the internet was in 2006 shortly after dedicated pages began manifesting, featuring the Aquarian Witch âBeatrice âBizzyâ Robertsonâ granddaughter of Ginny Robertson of Luminous Witchesâ fame, in which she filmed herself on top of the London Bridge as she danced with a guitar playing a cover of Kelly Marieâs âFeels Like Iâm in Loveâ meant for her then first boyfriend, it was very primitive and not very ambitious, but it gathered almost 700.000 views which at the time was pretty fantastic...it showed Witches that people would watch them...and it did not take long for many more to do it.
In the following years as large portions of the world began uniting in to macro stages Witches would begin opening their various spaces where they would upload videos regularly motivating the unity of the world, although at the time they would deal with hostility in the comments from people who supported the so called campaign of âFighting for Humanityâs Autonomyâ but it failed to catch a significant momentum, although many of these people would later form âThe Sons of Noahâ, but when it comes to Witches making videos it did not stop them.
Buy 2068 when the Urash Philosophy came in to effect however, the content these Witches would upload changed drastically in order to comply with the regulations and move humanity from the sedentary life of the early millennium into a more active, working and nomadic society to improve its health and autonomy away from technology.
Titans of the sedentary era of streaming began dying off and saw their internet ventures crash completely, political and video game streamers were forced to shut down their channels to comply with the Urash Philosophy, but Witches simply adapted and changed their content focused more now on exploration and enjoying the wonders of life...or as they said on the slang back in that era âTo Touch Grassâ.
When the Third Neuroi War erupted in 2410 the contents of Influencer Witches STOPPED radically...for obvious reasons, but they resumed once the War was over in 2500...although by this time Witches desired to once again pursue other ventures and many of their projects were shut down permanently...leaving only a couple left who still wanted to be influencers.
But again, ANOTHER PAUSE CAME with the Kardashev Program in 2700âŠ. even then, these Influencer Witches promised to record their journey through the cosmos promising to return...and post it all.
Did they? YES...YOU CAN BET THEY DID...some returned with PETABYTES OF CONTENT...some uploaded them piece by piece, other made large video compilations that would last for MONTHS OF PLAYTIME...which is understandable...as weâre talking about more than a thousand years of traveling across the cosmosâŠ.we are sure their fans enjoyed benching such content, we also did as we had to record and analyze all that as part of our duties, we are keepers of Witch lore after all.
After that the Witches that remained influencers continued their activities and continue to entertain us through the years...and we couldnât be happier for it, always adapting to the new trends and innovating.
Â
The Influencer Witches
Now that we know their history, it is time to get to know the most notable and important influencer Witches and the type of content they do:
- Daisy Chained (Started 2012-Ongoing): A simple Vlog created by the sisters Rebecca Miyafuji and Yumemi Bishop, although it wouldnât be named âDaisy Chainedâ until 2098, they would always host it every Saturday night at 8 PM and would just talk to their audience, sharing their personal lives, projects, relationships, the birth and death of the many children they had...everything, 100% honest and with no filter, just two sisters talking in front of a camera. They stopped during the Third War but did make a special transmission as these two were selected for The Centralia Offensive, the two sisters talked about the implications of being part of this final offensive and Yumemi even cried worrying for the future and the pressure over her, as we know however they were successful and they renewed the vlog THE SAME DAY they came out of the Centralia hole.
After returning from Space in the 3500s they continued their activities and to this day in 4000 they do so.
- Princesses of the Old Republic (Started 2027-Ongoing): A blog made by Loba Kuroda and Alucarda Cantacuzino in where they would just talk endlessly about the many shows and franchises they loved, sharing fan theories, headcanons, discussing characters endlessly, both Witches balanced each other well, Loba with her bubbly personality and Alucarda with her Gothic intrigue, it never had a fixed date and they would just post content whenever they felt liked it, they made great efforts in keeping fan theories alive, they LOVED Dwelling in those, whenever they went into space Loba recorded the many weird planets she found interesting and compared them to the fictional planets in the franchises she loved, all of it posted in a special 2 months video upon their return, ever since they have continued making content talking about the many franchises they missed out in their Kardashev journeyâŠ.and yes, Alucarda often brings her Space cat-jelly âchildrenâ Grant, Trevor and Sypha into the videos.
- Potflower Zeit (Started 2050-Ongoing): This is just a strange vlog made by Samantha Lennartz where she just puts the camera on, takes drugs and just...talks...thatâs itâŠ.no deeper meaning, it started when her lover at the time made a video about it, uploaded it to the internet and it was extremely popular, so sheâs been doing that...since then, once every month (Once every year during the Kardashev Journey)...she get surprisingly imaginative describing all her weird visions, we can only wonder what kind of reaction her grandmother would have if she knew of this, legends say that if you put one of her videos on an Elysium Tower, the holograms of Helma just âAbandonâ the scene.
- Carrie Across the World/Space (Started 2008-2700): A traveling show featuring the adventuring Carrie âThunderchildâ Schade, she would explore the world and make videos about it, when she explored EVERY CORNER to explore in 2098, she put the program on pause to help humanity work on space travel, joining Operation Usada 1969, renewing the show in 2201 to now explore SPACE, the Third War and her time on the caves of Mars put a stop to that, but once she had her Deae Battlesuit she explored the entire solar system once the war was over, she finished the program just as she was about to launch into space and promised to put ONE MASSIVE VIDEO once she returned, and she did, thankfully she cut it by hour long segments of all the wonders she explored, there is even one showcasing her attempts to venture far from the Milky Way, but it is only a black screen and the distant luminous Andromeda Galaxy until she realized it was far too distant to reach and turned back, the only extragalactic footage we have.
- MEAN BAD BITCHES (Started 2009-2070): A massive problem in the early days of video making were the âFake Rescue Videosâ in where people would intentionally endanger animals and even people, or harm them to later film a video pretending to save them or provide assistance for a problem THEY THEMSELVES CAUSED...leading to a huge widespread problem and creating thousands of scammers...until three Witches witnessed this and had enough...Xotchil OâHare, Stormcloud Yeager and Jenny Barrios...together they joined forces and mounted an operation across the world where they would find the people making these contents, BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF THEM, and rescue the animals for real, but not only that, they would apply immense pressure on governments of the world to punish people with harsher sentences for doing these things, at first they did not have much success on the latter until the Urash Philosophy implementation which forced the world to pursue content that fomented a sedentary life, after that harsher punishments were implemented across the world and the problem was solved, the final video was of the three Witches thanking the world and concluding the operation with a resounding success.
- IS THIS REAL LIFE? OR IS IT JUST FANTASY? (Started 2100-Ongoing): Bizzy Robertson was an extremely talented singer like her grandmother but she never pursued a musical career, she felt more comfortable in a casual setting playing and singing for a reduced group, and that is what this show this, it was just Bizzy trying her hand at various songs she would try to recreate on her guitar...even harsh extreme noise techno songs or really vicious extreme metal songs...she would give them a folk remake because why not? But what made the show funny was that she would go find various other Witches and people and have them sing with her...among the most iconic moments was her cover of Queenâs âWe Are the Championsâ, where she, Ceridwind Miles (Cerydwen), Yumemi Bishop, Carrie Schade and Jacinth Taylor (Britanian Witches basically) all sang an extended custom version of the song all the way to 20 minutes, it was an absolute blast...later released as a single amassing great success.
Bizzy still does it to this day.
- Weird Science (Started 2080-2410): A small show created by Fatima Safavid where she would gather âJunkâ or ruined machines abandoned and she would restore them using her fantastic science and engineering skills, on the early days of video making there was also a plague of this type of content in where people would produce âFake abandoned electronic devicesâ to restore them, but Fatima was legit as she would begin the recording the moment she woke up, she would fly from Ctesiphon (Sometimes accompanied by Roxana Apranik) and would wander through the world finding the ruined object, she would take it back home and show the restoration process STEP BY STEP...showing what actual rot and abandonment looked likeâŠ.it made her very popular.
Unfortunately, she dropped the show when the Third Neuroi War broke out as she became extremely busy helping on the back, as we know she was INSTRUMENTAL in the Centralia Offensive.
She would not renew the show after the war though...although...once she came back from space...she did something else~
- WELCOME TO THE CYBER CORPORATION! (Started 3604-Ongoing): Fatima returned to doing what she loved but this time she wasnât alone...she was joined by the other brilliant mind among Witches...Magie Katajainen and together they created a new show where they would talk about all things science and technology, having the chance to try the various many new improvements humanity made as well as telling the many stories they lived during the Kardashev Program, by the year 3700 another person joined...Himawari Shinomiya from Team VIVID alongside the Otter doll of Doctor Kenjiro Isshiki...expanding their capabilities...becoming the main source to check for all science related stuff.
- The Court of the Crimson Witch (Started 2500-Ongoing): A podcast styled show hosted by Edelgard Barkhorn, a big scholar on warfare and military history, she would sit and talk about the evolution of warfare, important battles in history, great characters and generals...basically the spot for every military geek looking to hear some good history from a beautiful lady, Edelgard is very dedicated to this show and would travel the world herself to interview people and learn history from authentic sources, she was inspired to do this after the end of the Third Neuroi War so humanity would not forget the effort and sacrifices made to get us where we are now, because even during peace she believed remembering warfare mattered to understand why peace mattered.
And she has continued with the show since her return from the Kardashev Program.
- The Sixth Dimension (Started 2200-Ongoing): Remember how Witches were kinda left out of the âVariety Showsâ era during the 70s? Well Natalia Litvyak and Momoi Lucchini took that personally and decided to make their own variety/game show, the result was âThe Sixth Dimensionâ, hosted once a year and it would last for a week, in it, Natalia and Momoi would invite various Aquarian Witches to perform in various challenges set for them, sometimes they would bring other lucky chosen people to participate, it has had EVERYTHING, challenges, quizzes, fights, sports, treasure hunts, dances, music, talent shows...ANYTHING CAN GO...as long as it is funny...it is one of the most expected events every year because it can get really naughty in there.
When both Witches returned from the Kardashev Program, they renewed it and began adding Space Mikos and even the girls from Team VIVID into the rooster.

Is any squad stronger than another?
I understand that "Power Scaling" isn't something that needs to be discussed (especially HERE), but in an anime (that I forgot), it was said...
"Strike Witches are stronger than Brave Witches."
And vice versa, or something like that.

Are there other main Squadrons besides 501, 502 and Luminous Witches?
In the anime, these were the only ones that got highlighted, but...
Are there others that received focus? Whether in Games, Light Novels, or Manga?

I watched Witches for the first time.
Hello, yesterday I finished watching ALL the Witches anime for the first time and I want to give some quick opinions/complain.
Quick opinions...
Did the anime really want me to believe in Yoshika's relationship with her dad and care about him in just 1 episode (from the 1st season)?
Mr. White from Breaking Bad, I couldn't stand Perrine when she appeared in the first season. She was super annoying and a jerk to Yoshika. A bad tsundere and yandere:đâčïžđ
Good thing Perrine changed starting from the 2nd season, because she stopped being a yandere and became someone who simply admires Mio, and as a result, also became a good tsundere:đ
Was episode 6 of the 3rd season one of the best of Strike Witches, if not the best of the franchise? Yes. It wasn't just a proof of friendship. It was something that also proved just how gay the two of them are.
I liked the ending of ROAD to BERLIN, but it felt more like a season finale rather than the end of the Strike Witches series. I think/hope there will be 2 more seasons, because it was said that Karaland and Orussia still needed to be liberated from the Neuroi.
Oh, and I have nothing against ecchi. Bring on as many as you want. The more, the better!đ€€đ„Žđ„”
Did I find it weird that he was barely present in Brave Witches? Yes. But it didn't make a difference. Could he have been? Of course.
The Chibi series are rough and hideous! It's hard to believe they were made by professional studios, even if inexperienced. But there comes a point where you get used to the visuals and don't care as much, because the comedy, dynamics/interaction/chemistry of the characters are what save it.
Actually, I liked Hasshin Shimasu! more than World Witches, because the 501st did something basic and simple: highlight the daily lives of the Strike Witches in random situations. World Witches could have done something basic and simple too, with the difference of bringing the 501st and 502nd together, but noâbesides not reuniting the 502nd with the 501st, it decided to focus randomly on the squads. Episode 1 was about the 501st, Episode 2 was about the 502nd, and so on. Like, how hard was it to just not fail to put two teams of characters together? Not to mention that the 502nd part is a recap.
Complaints...
Yoshika: I had nothing against her normally since she was a character full of altruism, kindness, innocence, pacifism, and excessive stubbornness, caring about good and innocent people. Sometimes even to the point of not wanting to pull a jammed weapon on a teammate during training? Yes. But when episode 9 of the first season came around, and she didn't shoot a Neuroi just because it had a human form, and as a result acted like a magical girl protagonist, thinking she could understand the enemy because they looked alikeâI couldn't believe what I was seeing. In that same episode, she was defending the Neuroi and Trude or another Witch commented...
"How many Neuroi have you fought? You only talk like this because you haven't fought many."
At that moment, I agreed with her and at the same time noticed that Yoshika's attitude DID NOT MAKE SENSE! Yoshika's dad died because of the Neuroi/war, and she still had the courage to act that way. She should have suffered more so she wouldn't act like that. Though knowing how female protagonists are written, she probably still would have behaved that way. Even worse was the next episode, when she went after the Neuroi that shot Mio. Like, did she forget that this exact same Neuroi left Mio bedridden?
I understand there was the traitor general plot twist, but I still stand by my complaint.
This franchise is very gay. Then an episode comes along where Minna gets sad about losing her friend/boyfriend? Once again, a relationship with a character the anime wanted me to believe in and care about?
"Ah, but it wasn't about her friend/boyfriend. It was about wanting to protect the people she loves."đ€âïž
Then why did they use a male character?
I decided to end this section with a petty criticism. Actually, I just really don't want male characters in a very gay anime with female protagonists:đ
Conclusion: Even with the quick opinions and complaints, I still LOVED the Witches franchise. All the characters and their dynamics, interactions, and chemistry are charismatic, fun, dramatic, exciting, funny, and wonderful.
Not to mention they are pretty, cute, and hot:đ€€đ„Žđ„”
Anyway, that's it.

STRIKE WITCHES 501st OC Gisele LĂŒtzow
Gisele LĂŒtzow was a Karlsland mage born in Kiel, who developed her skills through military training and established herself as a capable combatant. During the Hispania campaign, she served with the Condor Legion, gaining valuable combat experience and recognition for her service. Later, while defending Britannia, she became familiar with Margaret Farnes, encountering her during their respective military service and developing a sense of familiarity that would carry into their later careers.
In 1941, while serving in Eastern Europe, LĂŒtzow was selected for transfer to the 501st Joint Fighter Wing because of her combat experience and leadership qualities. Reuniting with Farnes at the 501st, she joined a multinational unit of witches and mages, bringing her experience from Hispania, Britannia, and the Eastern European front to her new assignment.
LĂŒtzow is a composed, disciplined, and capable German mage who values duty, professionalism, and the comrades who serve alongside her. Having fought alongside witches and mages in the Condor Legion in Hispania and later served in the defense of Britannia, she developed considerable combat experience and earned the confidence of her superiors. At the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, she works alongside witches Mio Sakamoto and Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke, respecting their leadership and cooperating closely with them despite the differences between witches and mages.
Gisele has a particularly complicated set of feelings toward Margaret Farnes, whom she first became familiar with during the defense of Britannia. Their reunion at the 501st brings those feelings into sharper focus, making Farnes more than simply another fellow officer to Gisele. Although she remains professional around her, Gisele finds it harder to maintain her usual composure in Farnes's presence, revealing a more personal and vulnerable side that she rarely shows to others.
Ability: Phantom Step- Gisele can briefly teleport over moderate distances to reposition herself in combat. She combines these sudden movements with enhanced shooting, rapid defensive reactions, magical shields, and slashing strikes, allowing her to evade attacks and counter enemies from unexpected angles.

unsettling feeling
Iâd like to share something I experience when looking at the image in the post (yes, with that specific quality): it gives me a sense of unease. Iâm not sure whyâperhaps itâs seeing a bunch of characters with animal ears and tails flying or floating while looking directly at the viewer. Obviously, that feeling vanishes completely when viewing the image in high quality, but I was wondering if anyone else experiences something similar?
