🔰 Beginner Help Streaming to Twitch and TikTok at the same time

I wanna preface this by saying I have been doing some googling to try and find answers on my own, but it seems most people ask this question before they have affiliate or are even able to stream on TikTok, so the answers are not helping very much

So I recently started streaming on Twitch after a couple year break. I managed to get affiliate earlier this week, but I was thinking of using TikTok to help expand my viewer base. Right now I'm just using TikTok to post funny clips from my streams. I have enough followers on TikTok to go live; I'm just not sure if it's a good idea to stream to two sites at the same time and if it is the best way to go about it

I use OBS to stream to Twitch, and I typically play Minecraft with a PNGTuber. Would it be easy enough to just set up a vertical format with TikTok Live Studio and just stream at the same time?

Usually, when I stream on Twitch, I get 2-3 viewers, but I have nearly 5,000 followers on TikTok, and I'm hoping some of my mutuals might find it easier to tune in on tiktok and maybe be enticed to see things fullscreen on twitch or to find new viwers.

Any advice is appreciated!

❔ Question How to stream PC desktop + phone webcam on Discord?

So here is my goal: stream either gameplay or usual desktop stuff (perhaps CAD designing) alongside bluetooth headset that's connected to my phone, bonus if I can overlay my phone camera as a face overlay.

I can think of a few possible work arounds:

  1. OBS desktop and webcam into a virtual camera, using that on Discord desktop.

PROBLEM: No viable headset, as when I use bluetooth headset, it interferes with my mouse that is also BT, and so they both end up freezing out.

2) If there was a way to send my PC screen, to my phone, and use that as my "camera" on discord, that would probably work?

PROBLEM: I don't know how to do that, OBS doesn't seem to interact with mobile.

3) Point the phone camera at my TV/monitor.

PROBLEM: This works, but it's a joke answer. I don't prefer to do this.

___

please and thanks in advance!

EDIT: I'm using CachyOS btw and android samsung 🤮 phone

❔ Question Streaming on Youtube

Hello! Hello! I really appreciate all the help on my previous question about my camera set for my ps5. ✌️

I stream on Youtube. I am assuming i wont be able to play ANY licensed music? Is Twitter more laxed with that?

I streamed one of the Mafia games and it got red flagged for music playing in the car radio. Lol.

Not that I am going to slide over to Twitter... or should I?

Anyway, I appreciate the feedback and suggestions. 🎮🖥✌️

🧮 Streaming Gear Good mic/cam/headset for starting?

I want to start streaming and making videos in general for Twitch, YouTube, and social media. I just want it to be something casual, and I don't have a huge budget.

I don't have any headphones, a microphone, or any streaming gear yet, but my PC is pretty good since I do 3D modeling, so I'm already covered there.

I was thinking about getting a FIFINE XLR microphone. I still need to find some headphones (preferably something comfortable and nicelooking, no wireless, i prefear light colors), and maybe a good light. The webcam I have is just a cheap Logitech one, so I might want to upgrade that too.

My budget is pretty low, around €200 for everything, but I could stretch it a bit depending on the options.

Any recommendations?

🧮 Streaming Gear Capture Card for weird resolutions

Hi,

I am looking for a capture card which is capable of capturing the following resolutions:

1920x1080 (16:9, HD)

1600x1200 (4:3)

1280x1024 (5:4)

optional:

3840x2160 (16:9, 4K)

The framerate is secondary, at least 30Hz.

Are there any cards that fit this criteria? I haven't had much luck online.

Thanks in advance!

✔ Troubleshooting What’s the normal delay when streaming with OBS and TikTok LIVE Studio?

For those of you who use OBS together with TikTok LIVE Studio, how many seconds pass between saying something and viewers seeing or hearing it on their devices?

I’m getting around a 4-second delay. My internet connection is stable, so I’m wondering whether this is normal for this setup or if there are settings or upgrades that could reduce it.

Would a more powerful PC reduce the delay, or would it mainly help the applications run smoothly if they’re overloaded—especially when viewer activity and reactions increase?

What delay are you getting, and what setup are you using?

✔ Troubleshooting Capture device not capturing audio.

Hello. I recently switched from a cheap external capture device to AVerMedia's Live Streamer Ultra HD, and I seem to be having the same problem with this one that I had with that first device (though when I started using said first device, OBS was able to capture audio from it.) OBS, for whatever reason, doesn't want to capture audio from my Switch 1, which is hooked up to it. I've tried changing the Audio Output settings for the source, I've tried adding the card as a Mic/Auxiliary Audio selection, I've tried removing and re-adding the source, I've made sure the card has the latest firmware update... I just can't seem to figure out how to capture audio consistently from my Switch. Tomorrow, I plan on swapping out the cable that goes from my Switch to the card with the one that was included with it and see if that fixes the problem.

One thing that I'm continuing to learn about streaming is that it can get complicated if there's a problem, lol.

Here's some added information that might be helpful:
-The card has two HDMI slots, an IN slot (from my Switch) and an OUT slot (to an HDMI switch, since I switch back and forth between my computer and the Nintendo Switch.)

UPDATE: I seem to have found a most-likely-temporary solution. What I did was change the Audio Output setting for the video output source to DirectSound, close OBS, reopen OBS, and change the setting back to "Capture audio only".

UPDATE 2: It appears that I have found the problem. When my Bluetooth headphones are connected to my Switch, the audio is sent there instead of to both the headphones and OBS, and it is only sent to OBS when they're powered off.

🔰 Beginner Help I've just started to stream. Which should I choose YouTube, Twitch, Kick?

Now the ideal situation would be multi platform streaming. Can't do that now. PC isn't powerful enough neither do I have money to pay for a service.
Twitch has the community. YouTube has VODs(or it's better on YouTube), and it is less demanding on your PC to stream on YouTube.

The point is I'm thinking what's better for a streamer(me) 5 years from now.

I've certain limitations. Either I can work according to it. Or try to over come it. But it all depends on what's the better decision.

By the way I stream indie horror games and my editing process. I edit videos live.
Content is mixed right now. I've not decided what to make my main content.
As you can see I'm trying to figure out a lot haha.

🧮 Streaming Gear Am I correct that the Avermedia Ultra 2.1 has a dedicated audio output where the Elgato 4k X does not?

I am just trying to stream my PS5 gameplay with the most simple setup possible. I've come to understand that since the Elgato 4k X does not have an audio out, I would either need to use the Chat Link Pro cable out of the controller, or buy a DAC for the PS5.

It appears that the Avermedia Ultra 2.1 has an audio out, which would solve all my problems. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something before I chose, I'm shocked that the Elgato wouldn't include an audio out given that it's priced higher.

✔ Troubleshooting PS5 Pro/Marathon/Twitch

I started streaming Marathon on Twitch recently (mostly for people in my discord groups to watch and for my squad and I to watch back later to study the tape) and I'm having an issue with my mic audio on stream and VODs. I have checked every setting I can find on my PS5, in the game, on Twitch, and even on the app for my headset and nothing helps. You can hear game audio and everyone else in my squad, even prox chats, but you can't hear my voice. Everyone else in the party can hear me in the game so, there isn't anything wrong with my mic. I really can't figure it out. Anyone else have similar issues or know what may be happening? The headset is a RIG R8 Spectre Pro HS, if that matters and I have enabled my mic in the PS5 broadcast settings.

🔰 Beginner Help Combining Minecraft tech mods with actual programming. What would you focus on when starting out?

Hey everyone! I'm brand new to streaming and wanted to get some advice from people with more experience creating live content.

I'm working on a Minecraft project that combines tech mods with actual software development. I play with mods like Create and CC, and the general idea is to explore the intersection between building automated systems in Minecraft and programming the software that connects everything together.

For example, I've built a NestJS web server that receives chat messages from Twitch and YouTube. A CC computer retrieves those messages and displays them directly in Minecraft's chat. I've also integrated YouTube messaging so I can send messages to the live chat from inside the game.

I'd like to keep exploring this idea of connecting Minecraft to external software and making the streaming experience more interactive.

I've done two streams so far, both around 90 minutes. I naturally talk through what I'm doing, explain my plans, and work through problems out loud. I also have an overlay showing six objectives I'm working toward, so there's a sense of progression rather than just randomly playing.

I'm enjoying the actual streams, so I'm not particularly discouraged by having zero viewers so far. I understand that discoverability takes time. I'm more interested in figuring out where to focus my effort while I'm still starting out.

For those of you with experience creating live content, I'm curious,

  • Content strategy: Would you approach a niche like Minecraft + programming primarily through live streams, or would you make edited videos and Shorts a major part of the strategy from the beginning?
  • Positioning: Does combining gameplay with real software development sound like a compelling niche, or would you make the programming aspect more prominent in the presentation?
  • Early priorities: If you were starting from scratch today, what would you spend your first few months improving?
  • Sustainability: How do you balance working on your actual projects with creating content around them, without turning every hobby session into a production?

I'm not expecting instant growth, and I'm not looking for shortcuts. I'd like to develop a sustainable approach and learn from people who've already gone through the early stages.

Thanks for any advice!
