Totally hypnotized by River’s acting in that last scene, from inside the car, on.
His movements are paced perfectly; he’s hurrying but not rushing, like he wants to get it right.
You can really feel his anxiousness to see Sid, while also treating the moment as really important to him. Beautifully done.
All just him, all in complete silence.

I don’t know whether its just me that get excited whenever Shirley is on screen. As season
7 trailer released, I’m so happy for her.feels like she is more of main characters and not just side character. I mean She is weirdly funny, badass and attractive too . I would really like to explore more of her character depth. The actress gives true justice to the role.

So just to summarise and know that I’ve understood:
Diana blackmails Judd to provide funding after the whole Libyan fiasco and Judd covertly provides her with Cantor’s money, which is Russian.
Diana uses the money to finance an off-books assassination in Kazan using Sid’s name.
The GRU gets pissed off and asks Natasha to ask Cantor to get details on who plotted it (Am I right about this? This is what I’m not completely clear about).
Cantor uses an ex-Dog to get the files and uses Harkness to kill him.
Lamb convinces Natasha to sell Cantor as being the one who was the actual mastermind and guilty of the death of the agent in Kazan.
I haven’t listed every plot detail here but I think I get the rest. I just wanted some clarity on how he fits into the story.

.... While River is still lighting his up. 😂 In that serious scene of gun fighting, I can't stop laughing.

For all the virtues and complaints — I know I had both myself — I really appreciate how we were able to see the characters grow this season. Just to name a few:
* Flyte realizing she didn’t want to keep being a pawn for the Park’s games and following her principles by telling Lamb about Struan Loy. Then taking it one step further and helping the Slow Horses till the end.
* Taverner admitting to Lamb she was over her head with the off the books plan and accepting his help.
* Reece going from a neglected kid to joining an admittedly dysfunctional team that still, teaches him he doesn’t always have to do it on his own.
* Ho being heartbroken at seeing Flyte and deciding to be selfless for once and coming to the rescue of Reece/Shirley at the shore.
* Harkness deciding to stand down on his original mission and just helping River take down the Russian assassin towards the end.
* Even Lamb, attending a scheduled event to honor the fallen joes — drinking as a group to honor them instead of just processing it on his own. Even if it just lasts for a few minutes before he closes down again.
What would you add??

Sid’s “I‘d leave a light on for you, if it were my house” genuinely bowled me over in how unexpected and romantic it was.
Is that line in the book?

She’s the coolest, bravest slow horse — her molotov bombs ended up actually being useful in the initial attack, and she removed that grenade from their hidding shack in a matter of seconds.
It also speaks volumes to her character that even upon meeting Reece just a few hours ago, she was mad at Ho for considering leaving him behind. Her loyalty is unmatched. For those who have seen next season’s trailer, what do you think of the hints of Shirley going to rehab? It makes me think she gets worse before she gets better, maybe because of Coe :(

Now that season 6 is over. Here’s the take-
The main plot line of the season was River-Sid clearly. They completely sidelined other slow horses and Jackson Lamb too. This affected negatively. Cuz lots of loose ends and missing arcs.
We are still not shown how the Russians tracked River. In the chase scenes, we all assumed that it’s one highway road with those 3 stopping points. But how did the Russian agent found out about the SAFE HOUSE? This is the BIGGEST ISSUE.
Coe’s death method was out of character. And wasn’t even shown properly. And then River never even bothers to mention it to Lamb on call or Shirley in safe house. I mean … WTF?
The show majorly focused and hoped we cared that Sid lives. But as audience, we are more attached to Coe and Flyte. We were more focused on them but the writers were dismissive of them and only cared about Sid baker.

This is a Russian nursery rhyme with the original lyrics: баю баюшки баю не ложися на краю, придет серенький волчок и укусит за бочок
Translation: Hush-a-bye, Hush-a-bye, Don't lie on the edge. Will come a gray wolf, And bite you in the side.

is anyone else disappointed we didn’t get the scene of sid finding river? it would’ve been such a good parallel to river finding sid on the steps in season 1. i’m hoping we at least get it in a flashback either next season or in season 8, otherwise i’m gonna be so bummed

For everyone who says "he sounds American to me!" or "his accent's fine!"...
I am American, and the only time I absolutely needed the captions on during this last episode (S6E6) was when Harkness was on screen. At one point I was so confused why he was talking about sheep, I had to rewind ten seconds, turn on captions, and read the word "shape" on screen. (This is on top of him saying "loyaldy" (S6E4) and "fourdeen" (S6E5) in very un-American ways.)
It really takes you out of it, it's kinda jarring/vaguely disturbing.

Ok so a show-only fan and now that season 6 had wrapped, can the book readers clue me in to what exactly was the content from this season from Book 6 and what content was from Book 7? The entire season seemed pretty intertwined and connected for it to be covering two stories at once. At least that is the case assuming that those two books do the usual Slow Horses one big plot line per season. Please clue me in without spoiling anything for the future season!!
Also why couldn't River and Sid just had one peaceful moment, I actually am so upset

They got into Diana’s beach house, they eat and drink, after that, they defend themselves but they didn’t use the Standish corkscrew at all.
At church, Standish was looking for the note in her purse, I thought she would hand it to River, but no.
Finally we see one in Rivers hand but never gets used.
We were expecting to be a Chekhov's Gun but it didn’t. Not directly at least. Maybe it was in a symbolic way.
Any ideas? or I simply missed the mark and it’s time for a rewatch?
Thanks :)
