Show Spoilers (Released Episodes) Did seeing this get anyone else? Spoiler
Seeing Roddy Ho genuinely sad made me tear up. Roddy’s actor actually killed the scenes from when he finds Emma’s body through the end. I don’t think we’ve seen Roddy sad the entire series. He’s too much of a narcissistic prick. So seeing him be affected by Emma, and being unable to defend himself caught me by surprise.

General Discussion - No Story Details I absolutely loved Season 6!
I’ve seen quite a bit of criticism of this season on here, so I just wanted to share a different perspective. Honestly, I thought it was incredible, and it might actually be my favourite season so far.
I really enjoyed the story, and also loved the music this season. It added so much to the atmosphere. They got creative with it, or idk how to explain it, but it made everything feel so much more intense.
I totally respect that not everyone feels the same way, and I’m not trying to invalidate the criticism. I just wanted to share my appreciation for the season as well, since I’ve seen quite a few negative opinions on here.
Did anyone else love this season as much as I did, or am I in the minority here?
P.S.: Unfortunately I’m not a book reader, but I recently bought the first one, so I’m about to start reading them as well!

Show Spoilers (Released Episodes) Standish was THIS close… Spoiler
I love Catherine Standish. As the bickering goes on after Shirley asks about Coe (rightly so), I noticed Standish has a glass of water in front of her, but her finger is slowly circling on the table where there’s some spilled red wine.
It almost looks like she’s contemplating taking a little taste just to escape the chaos of everyone arguing… and then the gunfire starts! That was such an intense scene…

Show Spoilers (Released Episodes) This character got off too easy Spoiler
Taverner just keeps on failing upwards. Despite all the serious crimes and gaffes she has committed, she has never been held accountable. It's quite infuriating to keep seeing her succeed knowing she's responsible for so many atrocities and getting so many slow horses killer. She just easily pinned her fuck ups on Judd and Damien and got off Scott free.
I hope there is some justice coming for her in the next few seasons.

Show Spoilers (Released Episodes) That last scene—River’s acting Spoiler
Totally hypnotized by River’s acting in that last scene, from inside the car, on.
His movements are paced perfectly; he’s hurrying but not rushing, like he wants to get it right.
You can really feel his anxiousness to see Sid, while also treating the moment as really important to him. Beautifully done.
All just him, all in complete silence.

Show Spoilers (Released Episodes) Damien Cantor’s whole deal Spoiler
So just to summarise and know that I’ve understood:
Diana blackmails Judd to provide funding after the whole Libyan fiasco and Judd covertly provides her with Cantor’s money, which is Russian.
Diana uses the money to finance an off-books assassination in Kazan using Sid’s name.
The GRU gets pissed off and asks Natasha to ask Cantor to get details on who plotted it (Am I right about this? This is what I’m not completely clear about).
Cantor uses an ex-Dog to get the files and uses Harkness to kill him.
Lamb convinces Natasha to sell Cantor as being the one who was the actual mastermind and guilty of the death of the agent in Kazan.
I haven’t listed every plot detail here but I think I get the rest. I just wanted some clarity on how he fits into the story.

General Discussion - No Story Details I'm happy this show gets the love it deserves
It's such a well crafted piece of art. A masterclass in several different areas of film making. The cinematography, the dialogues, the balance between humor and seriousness, the authenticity that's created by a kind of 'clumsiness'. I could go on and on. Can't wait for the next season!

Show Spoilers (Released Episodes) Final episode Spoiler
I'm obviously missing something here. Could someone point out where my reasoning goes wrong?
The neighbour says someone has been in the house for a few days. He goes over to the house and touches the crowbar. That's the part I understand.
What I don't get is why Sid hasn’t moved the crowbar during the few days she’s been there.
Please explain why.

Book Discussion (Spoilers) Can we discuss Roddy's lone lioning? (spoiler!) Spoiler
I thought that the way his behaviour was understood -- him being a shit teammate, betraying Shirley's orders, abandoning their one fucking professional charge, and being a vain dumbass -- which was protection of that child -- was SO EMOTIONALLY LEGIBLE
but I was kind of amazed by the fact I felt he -- like a real person -- loved Flyte? A woman who deeply disdained him! It was like he lost he lost his own kin?
He's really inexperienced with death. I don't know why that really punched me in the solarplex.
He's not a good shot. But he showed up. The LION LIVES!
HE CANNOT GET IN THE FIELD OR BRITAIN WILL DIE

General Discussion - No Story Details “Off I fuck” - the author
It’s a very funny line which I first heard/read in Martin Amis autobiography Experience
It was a pet phrase of his father, the novelist Kingsley Amis.
“Off we fuck” indeed

Book Spoilers & Show Spoilers River and Harkness
Spoilers for how their S6 finale meeting happened in the show vs the books, beware!
I loved their meeting in episode 6 so much, the show has always been far better than the books at having actual conversations between characters. River seemed exhausted, he was injured, and suddenly just didn't have the energy to hold on to all the rage he had for his father. Between losing his grandfather, fighting off assassins, finding Sid then losing her again, Taverner's willingness to sacrifice Sid to the Russians, Coe's death he just seemed 100% done, And of course, Frank had just saved his life. And at the core of all those emotions what he was really truly angry about was that he couldn't have just had a normal Dad.
I hated that their meeting in the books was so short, and ended with River kind of shoving him off then just... walking away to go do something else????? There was zero closure between the characters, River never mentions him again (as far as I know, I haven't finished reading book 9, please no Clown Town spoilers!), and Harkness dies through a convoluted plot by Lamb in basically just a post-script of the book.
I wonder if leaving him alive in the show may mean they intend for the character to come back at some point...?

Show Spoilers (Released Episodes) Harkness and River in the end Spoiler
Why did River let Harkness go in the end even after knowing that he had probably killed someone?
Shouldn’t he have at least held him at gunpoint until they captured him? It felt out of character for River to just let him leave.
