This is Minx’s little sister. They’re litter mates, and we are fairly certain Marmalade was the runt of the litter. She sleeps on my legs every night, and stands on my hip if I am not in the correct position when she joins me on the sleepy sqware.
Once they came to us, Marmalade adopted Athena as her teacher and guide, learning to cat properly. In true orange fashion, it takes her months to catch onto things that Minx picks up on quickly, but we don’t mind, because she is so very sweet. Unlike the other two, she has never taken to eating wet food. She likes her crunchies. She’s a big fan of catnip, though.
Her feral family was taken in by my friend who does cat rescue. Marmalade was the last to be captured, and, when Elegant Mom (that’s her official government name) got them outside again behind my friend’s back, Marmalade again evaded capture until the last minute. She doesn’t like to be picked up, but will take all the petting and lap sitting she can get. Strangely, she sheds a LOT more than Minx does. Everything gets a nice coating of orange fur as soon as we put it down.
She is so affectionate. I love her to pieces.
