Can I study abroad with a fully funded Scholarship? Are there any funded available scholarships for me? Or is my dream super unrealistic?
Hello ⭐ I was casually scrolling through Instagram and Facebook when I came across an advertisement about studying abroad, It immediately caught my interest because, honestly, I think studying in another country and building a better future is a dream many people share. However, I realized that I barely know anything about the process. I don't know where to apply, when applications open, or how to get started. Most importantly, I'm not even sure if someone like me has a realistic chance of receiving a full scholarship to study abroad.
One of my biggest concerns, however, is our financial situation. My family and I aren't particularly well-off, and our budget is quite limited. Does family income play a significant role in international scholarship applications, just as it does when applying for scholarships here in the Philippines? Are there scholarships that cover not only tuition fees but also accommodation, food, airfare, and other living expenses?
I'm an average student and I'm consistently receive honors, but I wouldn't say that my academic achievements are particularly mind-blowing or outstanding. My general average is around 94, and I'm involved in several clubs and extracurricular activities at school and I'm not sharing these details to brag; I simply want to know whether my academic performance and extracurricular involvement could improve my chances of studying abroad through a full scholarship.
As for my English, I'd say I'm pretty good at it. I've won multiple Divisions and Regional awards in Advocacy Speaking and Extemporaneous Speaking. I don't want to sound arrogant by claiming that I'm fluent, but I believe my English is good enough to hold meaningful conversations and express my thoughts clearly. I'm also wondering whether my English proficiency would be an advantage when applying to international schools.
And I have so many questions, and I'd genuinely appreciate any advice from people who have experience with international education or know a lot about the scholarship application process.
How do I get started? What are the first steps I should take if I want to study abroad? How much does it actually cost? Even with a full scholarship, are there still expenses that students need to pay out of pocket? Am I qualified enough? With my academic performance and extracurricular activities, do I have a realistic chance of receiving a full scholarship? Is studying abroad a realistic goal for me? Or am I getting ahead of myself by even dreaming about it? Where should I apply? Which countries and universities offer fully funded scholarships for international students, especially those coming from the Philippines?
When should I apply? When do applications usually open, and how should I prepare in advance?
I'd love to hear about any scholarships, universities, programs, or opportunities that I could look into. Even advice from someone who has gone through the same process would mean a lot to me.
A few details about me, in case they help:
School: I currently attend a public school in the Philippines.
Academic performance: I have a general average of around 95 and consistently an honor student.
Strand: I'm currently a HUMMS student, although I find myself excelling more in Science and Technology. I don't even know why my school put me in Humms (the school chooses our strand).
Extracurricular activities: I'm involved in several school organizations, including Journalism, where I particularly write as a Feature, Editorial, Column, Online Publishing Layout Artist and a Photojourn. I'm also part of a public speaking club where I sometimes teach my juniors how to confidently and effectively speak in front of dozens of people and how they can win in extemporaneous speeches.
Other interests: I enjoy writing and public speaking, although I wouldn't consider myself particularly skilled at either yet. I also enjoy sports, even if I'm not especially good at them.
Leadership: I haven't taken on significant leadership positions because I'm still working on my confidence to be a good leader.
English proficiency: I consider my English to be better than average, and I'm comfortable expressing myself and having meaningful conversations.
Current Grade level: I'm currently a Grade 11 student
As for my preferred destinations, I'm particularly interested in Australia, New York, Dubai, Canada, New Zealand, etc..., but I'm honestly open to studying anywhere in the world if the opportunity allows me to learn, grow, and build a better future.
I know that studying abroad can be expensive and competitive, especially for someone coming from a family with limited financial resources. Still, I'd like to know if there's a chance for someone like me to make it happen.
Thank you so much to everyone willing to share their knowledge, advice, or personal experiences, I'm genuinely hoping to learn more about my options and figure out whether this dream could become a reality. 🫂⭐

Michigan Achievement Scholarship
I have kind of a weird family situation. I'm currently a college freshman in the state of Michigan, and I have been a resident of the state my entire life. I was screwed out of the Michigan Achievement Scholarship due to my mother changing her residency to be in Wisconsin when I was about sixteen or seventeen. Like I said, despite this I retained my MI residency and graduated from high school in MI. It's also worth noting my father has been deceased since I was about four, so he can't help me out with this at all.
The only solutions I can think of would be filing for a dependency override or becoming legally adopted by my grandparents and or another relative who still lives in MI. The thing with filing for a dependency override is I'm not estranged from my mother or anything, I don't think it would get accepted but what do I know? I really want this scholarship badly and it would greatly help me out, but unfortunately due to other circumstances, I was kind of fucked out of it for the time being.

Finding scholarships as a transfer student in Florida
I’m coming up on my second year of my A.S. degree at a local state college. I want to transfer to a university here in Florida, preferably USF. FAFSA’s pell grant is covering my tuition at the state college completely and I just filled out the 2027 form and received a 0 for my SAI. From what I’ve seen, the COA is about 6k per semester, but I don’t think FAFSA will cover this in whole. I’ve been looking into scholarships and grants to apply to but all of them are only 1k each. The only decent scholarship is Bright Futures but that’s only for high school students. How do people afford to transfer to uni?

Scholarships
Where are the best places to look for scholarships as someone who has one year of community college? I find that a lot of scholarships are for graduating high schoolers.
I am planning to go to school for something science related. I am active in my local Audubon chapter and I do many extracurriculars like piano and writing. I don't know if that helps.
Thank you for the advice!

Dreams state scholarship
There is a new, from my understanding, scholarship that required 60 hours of paid or unpaid labor, watching 30 toolkit videos on Gafutures and to be Pell eligible as well. My supporting documentation have been verified and I called both ga futures and my schools financial aid office and gaftures says they have to send something first for like class verification and such manually and from there my school financial aid office will reach out to me about the next steps. My financial aid office response was pretty much wait because it’s a new program. It’s now mid terms and now word yet, anyone else received the scholarship yet?

Northern Virginia Scholarship
I'm a recipient of the Akerson Family Foundation scholarship. It is a relatively new organization that provides substantial funding ($50,000) for FGLI students. They have been very helpful, and I want to shout them out for those who live in Northern Virginia!
The Akerson Family Foundation Scholarship is a four-year renewable scholarship worth up to a maximum of $50,000. The scholarship is awarded annually to a select group of first-generation, college-bound seniors who demonstrate strong academic skills, financial need, and community/school engagement.

Do Graduate Schools Consider Competitive Scholarships received when deciding if they will offer you aid?
For example I received a full ride to my MPA program at a well known school.
I want to do another masters degree. Should I mention my scholarship on the extra room to talk about oneself or in my essay somewhere?
Curious if it will help me to get any additional funding or not for this new degree which might be at the same or different institution, if at the same institution would be a different school within the university

What are the best resources to check for the available scholarship?
For a Senior year student, what are the best resources to check the available scholarships if school counselors are not great at helping in this area?
Also when is the good time to check for scholarships? After the acceptance letter or while waiting? Should we open a separate Bank account for the senior now? Any specific account where is minimum fee?

Is a pre-print of a research paper I wrote a good extracurricular project?
Hello! Im applying for dentistry scholarships and I a while ago I made a survery (consent + permission taken and everything) about how oral hygiene practices differ between different age groups.
I had a lot of participants and learnt how to write a cross sectional study, and with the data i got from the survery, i made a preprint of a cross sectional study about this. Obviously at my level getting it published in a journal is impossible, but i feel like this project has some really nice info and i worked hard on it. But is it worth something on a scholarship application?
How can I add it as a project in my scholarship application? Should i just upload the pre print as PDF? can i maybe try having it indexed on Google scholar so its a bit more than just a PDF on my laptop?
