Tyler Muehl, sea lion kicker. Any update?
Tyler Muehl, the 18-year-old from La Jolla who kicks wildlife, was supposed to have his day in court today, but I see no updates in the news. Does anyone have an update on this?

Roof top tent stolen Saturday morning around 6am
Long shot but figured I would try. I have (had) a black Bronco sport with an Inspired Overland rooftop tent, it was my pride & joy. It was parked on Dawes right off Grand Ave.
According to neighbor, two white (20sM) in hoodies around 6am Saturday morning (10/17) used a metal grinding tool & oil to steal it. Was such a bitch to get on, never thought this would happen. But I should’ve known we cant have nice things in PB.
They walked on top of my car, scratched and dented it up, and a local shop estimated 7k in damages. Neighbor said they were in a white midsize car with the trunk up so nobody could catch their plate, and they turned right down Thomas towards the beach.
Probably whipped back around on Grand to get out of PB. If anyone saw anything or has any info, would be so appreciated. Hide your kids, hide your roof tents.

Curious how the proposed Old Town data center will affect your SDGE bill?
In October 2026, emails obtained by the Voice of San Diego revealed that developers are exploring a proposal to build a massive 400-megawatt AI data center at the NAVWAR campus (the Navy Old Town Campus). If constructed, this facility could become the largest data center in California. San Diego Councilmember Marni von Wilpert and other local officials have expressed serious concerns over transparency and the astronomical electricity demand of a 400-megawatt facility, questioning how it will impact the local energy grid and regional utility ratepayers.
Data center operators directly pay for the literal electricity they consume, but everyday utility ratepayers foot the bill for the massive grid infrastructure required to support them.
When a 100-to-400-megawatt data center connects to a local grid, the utility company must rapidly expand its system. They have to build new power plants, lay high-voltage transmission lines, and upgrade substations. Under California law, investor-owned utilities do not make a profit on the electricity itself; instead, they are guaranteed a ~10% return on equity for building infrastructure (transmission lines, steel poles, grid upgrades). They spread the costs of these multibillion-dollar upgrades across their entire customer base. As a result, residential electricity bills have spiked significantly in data-center-heavy regions.
San Diego already pays some of the highest electricity rates in the nation, with an average rate of $0.46 per kWh (roughly 114% higher than the national average). Because most of a local bill pays for grid delivery and infrastructure rather than the actual power generation, a project of this scale has profound implications for local ratepayers.

Now that the city is covered in election and candidate posters, pay attention to who picks up their signage after Election Day!
The ones that remove the signage posted on street corners, fences, and main thoroughfares are the ones that actually care about you. The rest that get left as trash on our streets are the ones seeking power, instead of an honest effort to help the people.

The National Bureau of Economic Research released a paper on the predicted tax revenue impact of the Billionaire Tax Act (Prop 40)
The present value of permanently lost income tax collections from departures more than offsets the one-time wealth tax revenue, yielding a net present value of negative $38.9 billion. Across 100,000 simulated revenue and discount rate combinations, 85 percent of plausible outcomes produce a negative net present value of state revenues.
In contrast, six economics Nobel Laureates endorsed Prop 40.
Not advocating one way or another, thought it was worth sharing both sides.

Photo gallery 🐶 Looking for a doggie date for Kilo! 🐾
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some friendly dogs for Kilo to meet, play with, and hopefully make some new furry friends ! He’s only 1 years old and still needs some socializing to learn how to dog lol
A little about Kilo:
He’s a catahoula leopard dog who just turned 1 Oct 10.
Super playful, lots of energy, but then has his puppy nap after an hour or so of playing.
His favorite things are playing with ropes, sticks, and is really ball motivated. And I can’t get him away from beach, or maybe he just likes it as much as I do. Who knows.
Ideally, looking for other friendly dogs around his size or with similar play style so they can run around and have fun together. (Burn that puppy energy off so they can go home and NAP!!)
Open to dog parks, walks, beaches, or finding a good spot where they can play.
If your pup needs a playmate, feel free to reach out! 🐾

Elote stand in Valley Center
There's this elote stand in Valley Center run by an older Mexican lady with the best goddamn corn I've ever had. Corner of Valley Center Rd and Woods Valley, if you've ever been to Bates Nut Farm you've passed by it. I work around Valley Center about once a week and the last few years since discovering the place I hit it up every time I'm there. The last 2 months or so it's been empty. One of those times it was pouring rain and another it was 110 degrees so I figured weather was the reason but the last 3 or 4 weeks I've tried and the weather has been more or less fine and she's nowhere to be seen. Idk if ICE took her or if maybe it's a health issue related to her age but if anyone has any idea what has become of the elote lady I'm curious. Elote stops were legitimately my favorite thing about Valley Center and I miss it terribly.

Video Stay Classy
Couple in this cybertruck sat there arguing and throwing trash out their window. When confronted, didn’t care at all and completely dismissed picking it up or taking any accountability. Shoutout to the employee and good samaritan from The Water House who came out and cleaned it up. Happened by the SMP on the corner of Parkway Dr & Baltimore Dr in La Mesa. Be better than these folks.

Garage covers jam?
Hey I’m a 36 yo dad, typical busy with work and kids. I’ve always been really into music, played in bands etc. We moved here last year and I’ve really been missing my jam buddies. I’m too busy to do much of anything serious (gigs, recording etc) but would love to find some people who like to hang out a couple nights a month and jam classic rock or 90s covers, have some beers and a toke etc. I play drums, bass and guitar all quite well (have played for ~25 years) and have equipment I can bring but not a good jam space. Lmk if anyone is interested!
