Quick weekend trip to [Tripdrill] and [Plopsa Deutschland] - I finally rode GeForce!

After two tries it finally happened. Third time really is the charm. I've finally ridden Expedition GeForce! Here's the trip report about my two days.

Day 1: Tripsdrill

Since it was a rainy day the park wasn't too crowded. I guess it doesn't see huge lines anyway, but it felt nicely crowded, but everything was very manageable. (In Dutch we call it "gezellig druk.") Longest wait we had was maybe 25 minutes for Karacho. Because Tripsdrill is about a 7 hour drive for us we arrived around 12:30 which meant most of the crowd had already left the entrance area making Hals-über-Kopf a station wait. I knew from my previous visit that I really loved this coaster and I remembered correctly. The way Hals-über-Kopf has this gentle, floaty feel mixed in with airtime, inversions and positive G moments is just perfect. Great pacing as well. Not too short, not too long. Like I said, close to perfect. Obviously I'm not saying that this is the best coaster I've ever done, but what I'm trying to say is that in its class it's probably close to perfect. (I imagine Na Fianna Force being slightly better, but have yet to ride that.)

Karacho also is very, very good. Tripsdrill really has a great 1-2 punch. The big pro for me is that they use Infinity trains instead of Eurofighter. That alone makes this coaster so much better than other similar Gerstlauers. It has a very interesting layout with an awesome beginning, similar to what we see on other Gerstlauers like The Smiler or SAW the Ride. Punchy launch, aggressive manoeuvres and if you're on the outer seats great whip into probably the smallest dive loop in the world? It's awesome! If you like this coaster more than Hals-über-Kopf I can totally understand that.

Mammut was still just fine. A little bit too much shuffling for my liking, but I remember it having a boring layout, but I don't agree with that anymore. I think there's a lot of missed potential with this one. I don't really know how to explain it. It's just a really middle-of-the-pack coaster.

G'Sengte Sau is (IIRC) the first Bobsled coaster Gerstlauer has made, but you can't tell. It's just like any other and that's a good thing, because I love these! Basically an extended wild mouse with sharp helixes and airtime hills. These are always good fun.

And finally Rasender Tausendfüßler, the Zierer Tivoli. I like the large models and this one is probably the best one out there. It's surrounded by foliage and it gets so close to the ground you can actually touch it. (You can on most, but for some reason it's really hard not to try it on this one.)

Of course I have to talk about the quirkiness of this park, because that's what sets it apart from other parks. They really go all in with poop jokes and things like that. Almost every queue is themed very well with lots of animatronics. Though they are dated, they add to the charm of the park.

Tripsdrill is kind of a nuisance getting to it, because it's quite out in the country side, but it's totally worth it.

Day 2: Plopsaland Deutschland

We jokingly called this the main event during this trip, because the entire trip was pretty much centered around finally riding GeForce. We rope dropped and walked immediately to it to find the line... Closed... Uh oh, here we go again.. Well, that's on me for going in October. We talked to the employee who explained that it hadn't opened yet because it was too cold. There were no mechanical issues so it should open later today. Phew, okay I can live with that! We wanted to ride the new for 2026 coaster anyway, so we decided to head into that direction.

100% Wolf is a great addition to this park. It's exactly what it needed. I'm really loving these Gerstlauer Family coasters, they do lots of fun stuff. I especially liked the drop after the inclined tyre launch halfway the ride. That's pretty steep for a family coaster! Gerstlauer has really started to utilize those off-axis hills and turns lately. Good stuff!

Sky Scream also had a delayed opening due to the cold weather, but it opened around 13:00. These Sky Rocket II's are simply very fun rides. I totally get why they get cloned so much. I just really hate the trains. Not the restraints per se (thankfully this one doesn't have the comfort collars) but it's so hard to get in and out of the seats. I've bumped my knee twice. Anyway, small rant aside, the intensity of Sky Scream is very good. Great hangtime through the roll and and the whip is also more than you can prepare for. Severely underrated model if you ask me.

While we were on Sky Scream we saw Expedition GeForce doing a testrun, so we went to it immediately. It still took about 45 minutes for it to open up, but when it did I got on the first train of the day, row three. Dude, this is an insane coaster. I totally get it now. I've always compared it in my mind to Goliath at Walibi Holland but this is more like Kondaa, which I rate very highly! After row three we obviously had to queue for the back row. Now that's elite. It hadn't even had the time to properly warm up and it was already blasting with so much airtime over those hills. What a great coaster. It's now in my top 10, which I did not expect at all beforehand.

We rode it only a few times more, because the wait times quickly rose and we still had to drive 6 hours home. In total I managed to get 4 rides, which may not seem like a lot to most of you, but it was enough for me. I'm not a person that re-rides a lot anyway and I can very quickly get an opinion on rides.

Enjoy the pics!

And these are all related to the theme of the ride.

  1. What is the like, main plot? Are we becoming gravy? Are we mixing the gravy? Delivering the gravy? Honey I shrunk the kids gravy? Why are we in the garage? Are we saving Thanksgiving?

  2. I understand it’s grandmas good gravy. But did it win first, second, and third place in 1942? You’re telling me that this recipe calls for all 3 titles??

Trip Report Test seats not accurate ? [Hershey &Carowinds]

I recently visited Hershey park and Carowinds and found inaccuracy in the test seats. It's a bit frustrating cause I am a big guy 6'7" 300lbs. I been riding coasters since I am 16 and loved them and was never afraid of them after getting over the initial fear. I went on every ride I could.

There has been a long break I haven't gone on them in quite a while I am bigger then I used to be and finding I am having a hard time with the test seats now my kids are wanting to ride them. I am not scared to ride but the test seats not going green makes me second guess things. First found thunder striker would not go green for me on test seat untill 3rd time I pulled it but fury test seat went green right away. I rode both no issues. Since then I second guess I can't get on the ride.

Yesterday we were at Hershey park and tried the Fahrenheit test seat first (a ride I had been on and love) was not even close. I went over to the storm runner and the same thing but the ride ops told me the straps were bigger in the ride so I gave it a shot. Well I got on that. I was happy cause that old school fav for me. Figured I could get into fahrenheit but never got the chance to get back there.

Wild cats I really wanted to try and get on that as I haven't been on any rmc coaster and looked super fun. The test seat felt pretty comfortable but didn't go green but I was willing to try it we waited for like an hour and they stopped the ride for maintenance, so we came off the line.

Do you think I have a chance at rmc coaster ever ? Does anyone else find the test seat to not be accurate and still try it maybe they get it when I get up there.

Side issue I also realized that I never been on a big coaster with just a lap bar outside the BM clamshell (had no issues with candimonium btw). This combined with the others not going green got me legit scared to go on skyrush and I hate that cause well one that's never happened and two my son wanted to go on it. I am actively losing weight before this about 30lbs maybe I'll have more success after another 30 idk. Thoughts.

Trip Report [Exterminator] at Kennywood is one of the most bonkers experiences I’ve ever had.

Me and my gf just went for the first time (I went in 2020 but it was a really bad day so I let this be my actual opinion) and, while I’ve done Exterminator before, this time it was lights out for the haunt.

A spinning wild mouse in literal pitch black is nuts. I was genuinely thrown off by what I experienced and think that it should be a must do for any enthusiast this time of year. If you’re considering a Kennywood visit in the next 2 weeks, absolutely do it.

(Phantoms was also just wild)

Trip Report Trip Report: [Potts Park] was a neat little park + [Karls Erlebenis Dorf Oberhausen] and [Aqualand Oberhausen]

On Oct 18th I visited Potts Park, Karls Erlebenis Dorf Oberhausen and Aqualand Oberhausen along with my brother for the first time (Not Aqualand Oberhausen I've been there before) and I though it was a pretty neat park, and Karls was a great Upgrade from CentrO Park.

Potts Park

We arrived at the park around 11:10 ish and started out day first with one of the park's highlight coasters Suspened Powerd coaster "Turbo-Drachen". Riders are able to control the speed by pushing the lever down. The ride was a bit milder than I though but did swing very high at 2 point during the ride. After that wd did 2 more laps since there was nobody waiting and we enjoyed it.

Braus & Saus

After that we walked towards a Stone-Age Themed area which had the next highlight "Braus & Saus" which was not only a better ride, not that Turbo-Drachen was bit but, Braus was more fun and better themed but our favourite ART Coaster (We haven't ridden Cannibal at Legoon). The ride is themed to a Stone-Age themed Car-Wash and before the launch there a little Dark/show section that was playing a Halloween version because on Oct 17th the Halloween season started for some parks in Germany. Anyways, back to the Show section. On the left there some were Mammoths Trunks spaying water on the passengers and on the right (I am not making this up) were Mammoths farting using a smoke-machine to represent them farting. Which realy reminded us to Hundepruten at BonBonland in Denmark. First we have a Farting Dog coaster now we have a Farting Mamoth And after the door infront opens and the train launches backwards into a twisted spike, the the ride launch trough the station into 2 Helices, a wave turn up until the 2nd launch which was tilted at a 25° angle which was very unusual of what me and my brother experienced, up into another spike and did the whole thing backwards. I relly liked this coaster, not just by experience but also by theming, while it wasn't as great themed as ZiegleBlitz I did the day before it was still great. After that we did the park's ART Wild Swing "Kippenschleuder" and just as I said with my previos trip report, I love these ART Wild Swings, the are my favourite flat ride ever, but that's for another time.

Other rides and Final thoughts

After that we did the park's Zierer Force Two \[Potts Blitz\] whicj is your standard Force 2 model and the park's Bear Rides log flume Pottwal which did make us as wet as the one in Jadefpark did but was less themed.

Final thoughs about Potts park: Similair as what I said about Jaderpark, PottsPark was a fun and charming little park with some theming and would recomend for a half-day visit. Jader park is better in theming but Potts has more rides. I liked both parks equaly and I would recomend for a half-day vist.

Short Stops

After that we did a few more rides a decided to leave at around 13:50 and visited the Keizer-Wilhelm tower that was nearby and after that we visited an observation platform nearby named "Aussichtsturm Steinzeichen" and after our trip up and down we drove for about 2 hours to Oberhausen.

A Brief History of CentrO Park

At Oberhausen we walked through Karls Erlebenis Dorf for first time and we were impressed of how much the park has changed. For context, way way back in the Nineteen-eigh-- I mean, back in 2013-2015 the area was home to (Sea-Life) Abenteurland Oberhausen which we visited back in 2015 before it closed and went SBNO for years before getting bought By Karls in May of 2021. And reopened in July of this year (2026).

Karls Erlebenis Dorf

While we were there we didn't do any of the rides, we just walked through the whole park (and took pictures) the park has free entry but the rides are paying at entrance of each ride or you can buy a wrist-band at the entrance of the park (Which I'd recomend not just for this but for all Karls Parks).

Aqualand

And finaly after that we went to Oberhausen's indoor Water park for about 2 hours and the entire park had a Cole Mine theme which reminded us about Baron 1898 at Efteling and speaking of Cole Mine the Waterpark has a Triple racing water slide themed to escaping a Cole Mine and fore the water park itself it was dead calm, almost nobody there, maybe it was because it was 7pm and the park closes at 9pm. I would recomend the water park IF you arrived there at around 16:30pm because there is a unique water slide similair to Pelican Dive at Duinrell's TikiBad that drops you into a pool that has special and a bit of an annoying time-table where the slide is only open for about 30 minutes every hour from 11am to 7pm. (I might be wrong here)

And that was our day.

Trip Report [Tripsdrill] trip report

Thumbnail

Back with another trip report for my fall 2026 trip during the Dutch Fall holidays. Parks included will be Tripsdrill, Europa Park, Phantasialand, and Movie Park Germany.

Tripsdrill is a really fun park located in the middle of nowhere near Europa Park. We didn't really know what to expect of this park, but ended up being blown away by the immersive theming and the attention to detail. Being used to the likes of Efteling and Phantasialand, this park honestly has a shot at playing in the big leagues.

In terms of variety in attractions, I have to say it's not really that much. In the thrill rides department, at least. They apparently have the only Gerstlauer Waltzer ever built, as well as a unique maypole tower ride by ABC Rides (that only worked half), but also a variety of unique tracked rides, such as two controlled spinning track rides by Metallbau Emmeln, which I've never seen before at any park, or a tracked ride consisting half of old timer cars and half of horse drawn carriages, of which you can actually ride the horses.

Now for the coasters:

Hals-über-kopf, Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster [#10 of 122 ranked]:

What a brilliant ride. I quite literally came out praising Vekoma for knocking it out of the park with their ride design. This is a fantastic inverted coaster that easily proves just how much Vekoma has grown over the years. I also love how the layout intertwines with Volldampf, makes for a great two-for-one package.

Karacho, Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster [#13 of 122]:

It's insane just how much better the Infinity coasters are to the Euro fighters. Having ridden Falcon at Duinrell and Flucht von Novgorod at Hansa Park not too long ago, which seem to be consistently try to break your neck, this coaster was glass smooth. Very punchy launch and whippy inversions, too. With this and Hals-über-kopf, this is amongst the best one-two punches in the industry, I believe.

Volldampf, Vekoma Family Boomerang [#78 of 122]:

It's a Vekoma Family Boomerang with a pretty cool layout and decent theming, what more can I say?

G'Sengte Sau, Gerstlauer Bobsled [#92 of 122]:

This is apparently the first coaster ever built by Gerstlauer, according to RCDB? This was a bit of a surprise since you wouldn't really notice by the layout, I've been on worse bobsleds. But I guess that's pretty cool. The layout itself seems to be the standard Bobsled model as found on Thor's hammer at Djurs Sommerland and Drachenritt at Belantis, but that doesn't take away from this being a fun ride, albeit a little rough. Love the theming with the castle and the log flume as well.

Mammut, Cordes/Gerstlauer Wooden coaster [#109 of #122]:

Honestly, I wish this could've just been a GCI or a gravity group. Heck, this would've done great as an Intamin Prefab. The layout has potential, but the train shuffles immensely to the point of barely being enjoyable. I really couldn't feel any airtime over the drop and big hills either in both front and back row. I do not necessarily think this ride should get the RMC treatment, since a standard wooden coaster does really fit this park, but at least give it a proper retrack

Additional notes: Apparently this park never gets any big crowds, which was reflected during our visit because essentially everything was a walk-on. That's not too unusual though, since parks tend to be rather quiet during fall holidays as opposed to summer holidays, but noteworthy regardless. Also, I've had some mixed experiences with the staff here, where I've had some extremely competent and nice operators, but I've also had it happen a few times that our operator wasn't paying attention/wasn't watching the ride due to being too busy looking at their phone.

This park is genuinely fantastic, and I thoroughly believe that this parks fills several voids that most parks are still missing: Immersive, coherent and detailed theming, a variety of interesting and unique rides, and among the most consistently themed queues among any park. I also really like the atmosphere around the park as well as the small gimmicks, like millstones being used as queue fencing, or rides being themed to either totally mundane or completely insane things, at a level unrivalled by most parks. In other words, I am extremely positive about this park and hope to return again in a year or so. Apparently they're building a new bird themed carousel that isn't on logrides yet, which has been looking amazing so far (wish I took some photos but I forgor 💀😭🥀)

Rode Siren’s Curse 3 times, amazing sound design and track layout, love the song that plays throughout the ride after the tilt drop. Excellent theming.

Trip Report [Tivoli Gardens] Trip Report - Denmark Road Trip Day 4/4

Thumbnail
gallery
26 Upvotes

The final stop of our trip was in the lovely city of Copenhagen, which in itself is definitely worth a visit and Tivoli feels like an added bonus rather than the main attraction.

Coasters -

Dæmonen x2 - the most thrilling coaster at the park is nothing crazy, a VERY short floorless B&M. While it doesn’t have the length of others it is still a pretty forceful and enjoyable ride, it’s nothing exceptional but still an enjoyable ride, and it does its job as a tourist magnet which can be ridden and enjoyed by basically anyone who can physically ride it. At the time we visited there was still a lot of construction for the rethemed area which I’m sure will only add to the vibes of the ride. The operations for this were really slow, which when you have to pay to ride really shouldn’t be happening.

Mælkevejen x1 - one of the better powered coasters, this thing very much reminds me of stardust racers (in pictures/videos, still haven’t been to epic) and looks gorgeous at night (unfortunately we visited park in daytime, but saw from our hotel). However it’s still a powered coaster so you don’t exactly feel much aside from the tunnel section.

Rutschbahnen x2 - the ride I heard a lot about coming in was a bit of a disappointment. Mostly because the insane airtime is often mentioned but I know they have different brakemen/brakewomen which makes the ride different. Still enjoyable just nothing that stood out to me, I think I had better airtime on Linnanmaki’s Rutschbahnen and that is talked about a lot less so could’ve just been a couple of weaker rides.

Other rides:
Obviously Tivoli isn’t known for its coasters but some of its wacky flats which we tried quite a few of:

Fata Morgana - while not quite as good as its namesake at Efteling this was a very interesting and unique flat ride. I thought I would feel a lot more sick than I did and definitely enjoyed it, even if the cycle was slightly too long for me.

Golden tower - S&S shot tower, while the launch is great the rest of these rides do very little for me

The Monsoon - weird to do a suspended version of this, all I’d experienced like it was Quantum back at Thorpe park and it was good! Definitely a unique feeling ride once again.

Star Flyer - one of the best star flyers I’ve done, the view of Copenhagen is fantastic without the usual fear of death that I get on these rides!

Aquila - this is an air race flat, was very fun actually probably one of my favourites here. Nothing different to usual model as far as I’m aware but was a good time.

The Mine - assume this is one of the first shooter dark rides, was charming and unique, obviously more modern systems work better but worth a go for sure.

We didn’t do tiktak because I wanted to keep my lunch inside my body, but a fun collection of flats overall considering it’s not my favourite ride type. I do think nothing here comes close to the heights of tigeren but obviously space is a factor.

To me Tivoli is really about the vibes, my favourite experience here was just walking around and then sitting across the lake with some local brewed beers. This place is more of a place to come to relax and have a few rides alongside Copenhagen, rather than a regular theme park day, and think if I was a local it would be great to have somewhere like this. This is an iconic, beautiful park which has inspired so much around the world. However the park itself is very much limited by space and I don’t personally think the attractions are anything to write home about.

In terms of how much fun I had at each park, this would unfortunately be the lowest. I think Fårup and Djurs are just amazing parks overall, with Gronalund still being a good time but nothing mind blowing, with better attractions than Tivoli despite not quite being as nice to look at. Tivoli is a beautiful park which is excellent for a quick visit on a city break, and would definitely recommend visiting if there, but wouldn’t go out of my way for.

Highlight coasters
1- Piraten
2- Fønix
3- Juvelen
4- Monster
5- Dæmonen

Parks ranked:
1- Djurs Sommerland
2- Fårup Sommerland
3- Gronalund
4- Tivoli Gardens

Overall Denmark is a great spot for a theme park road trip and a lovely country, I do think that quality wise on average the parks I went to were fantastic or at least noteworthy (Tivoli), with all of them at least meeting or exceeding my expectations.
While I do think other parks across Europe are stronger as a whole (I.e Europa, PL and Efteling) these danish parks are criminally underrated and worth a visit if you haven’t experienced them yourself. Also just generally I have loved every visit to Scandinavia and their parks, with Liseberg and Linnanmaki both being great in their own right and the whole region deserving a more credit than it gets for its parks. It may not have coasters which reach the highs of other countries however the parks are better than the majority of others!

Edit: Totally forgot Finland is not part of Scandinavia, my bad!

The train in the station in front of ours failed to dispatch. They kicked everyone out and maintenance had to come get us off. Took about 15 minutes! Luckily it wasn’t blazing hot or raining. Went and rode everything else that was open afterwards. The park was strangely quiet without Fury and Thunder Striker running.

Trip Report [Boomerang Bellewaerde] Very rough and painful.

Back in 1996 i rode this Vekoma boomerang coaster when i was a kid.
Today, as a almost 40 year old dude, i rode it again.

Why in earth does this thing still exists lol, this should be at a museum or a scrapyard.
There is 0 fun in a headache inducing headbanging old piece of coaster. It's really intense holy shit.
I understand this is the first operating Vekoma Boomerang model ( 1984 jeez ) but it made me so sick with a headache and shaken that my vibe was killed for the rest of the day. I can't imagine that people actually like this experience, except for kids that don't really know better... until they find out lol. Please kill it with fire, i did NOT enjoy this experience.

Discussion New Coaster Idea for the old amphitheater at [Six flags over Texas]

Please send me your thoughts on this. I believe every thrill seeker should experience the forces of a pretzel loop therefore I think the park would benefit from a flying roller coaster in the old abandoned Amphitheater area like Tatsu, Superman ultimate flight, and Manta and because we already have a Superman themed ride here we could theme it to Superman’s clone Bizzaro and call the coaster Bizzaro flight of chaos. we have enough room for the rides layout.
