Java Edition Found a way to cross one block thin "wires"

Thumbnail gallery

I recently made a post about one block thin logic gates and today I found a way to cross signals without them interfering. I am sure this can be simplified, as I said in the first post I am not that good at redstone.

The first image is a 2 way intersection and the second one is just 4 of them connected in such a way that they make a 4 way intersection. The observers in the top left of the second image are just for block updating those 2 pistons, others work without them fine but for some reason those 2 dont.

Java Edition Update order separator

Input: top note blocks, output: lamps. When a note block is triggered, the corresponding lamp lights temporarily. If several note blocks are triggered within a single tick, only the lamp corresponding to the first update lights. Tileable up to 15 inputs/outputs.

I use this in my encoder to avoid negations. I have predicates matching a AND b, a, b, true, etc., and if more than one matches, the first one (i.e. the most specific) takes priority.

Pic. 2: the same thing, but combined with a latch. Triggering a note block enables the corresponding lamp and disables all others; if several note blocks are triggered at once, the first one in update order takes priority. The lever is a reset, all pairs of droppers contain one item each.

Inspired by crain4999's solution to this puzzle. The first note block to be triggered BUD-powers its dropper and then updates all droppers by activating neighboring note blocks; the remaining note blocks BUD-power their droppers, but the droppers aren't updated because the note blocks have already been activated.

Java Edition cool door idea i had (noise warning)

I made this cool door thing I don't know I just felt like it. Essentially how it works is that when the blocks are quickly getting pushed back and forth you can't walk through them but you can interact through them such as with a button. So I had the idea to have a door that has them constantly pushing them back and forth between four pistons powered by the dual observer thingy, and when the the observer is pulled down it stops powering the pistons and opens the door. However it doesn't always work sometimes the pistons on the right don't pull out and it stays closed but most of the time it works fine. I don't see any practical uses for this but I'm sure there's something its good at.

Java AND Bedrock i need to Two pistons to activate at different times. (minecraft xbox one edition*)

in the video im demonstrating what i want to happen. to put it simply. when lever on piston 1 moves first, piston 2 moves after. when lever is off piston 2 moves first piston 1 moves after.

when i first tried, i used repeaters to make one piston go first and the other after, however when i turn the lever off piston 1 obviously still moves first. maybe im not looking properly but i havent seen a solution to swapping which one goes first.

Java Edition Auto kelp smelter help

• Upvotes

I have a hooper Minecraft set to enter a track loop upon filling to 320 kelp. I am trying to get 40 kelp distributed into 8 smokers evenly. I end up with 39 on the furnace closest to the entrance of the loop, and 41 in the smoker directly proceeding it

When I test with 240 kelp, I get 30 evenly distributed. The discrepancy only occurs on the final loop before returning to the loading bay.

Update: fixed this issue by simply moving hopper to the other corner and leaving the directional rail blank.

If anyone is still interested in adding more symmetrical solutions for funsies feel free 😃

The bulk of the machine is changing hexadecimal to base 10. I bet someone good at binary adders could make it smaller.

Java Edition Currently working TNT duper array?

I am looking for a duper array that dupes about 10-15 tnt. The duper does not need to be able to dupe quickly, as i am not making a carpet bomber. Preferably somewhat compact.

Java Edition My First Real Attempt at a 3x3 door (1-wide tileable, videos attached)

Two days ago I saw a Feinberg vod where he tried making a 3x3 door completely blind w basically no redstone experience. He was struggling so hard that I was inspired to make my first real attempt on one (I think I'd tried 3x3s a long time ago but don't think I ever finished one).

Before starting I had the idea of making it 1-wide tileable so that I could have a long (thicc) door with a ripple effect. I ended up getting the piston sequences pretty fast, though if I were to choose something to improve, I think the very end of the opening sequence (the double-retracting of the center block) is a bit slow. I'm pretty happy with it overall though!

I was really into redstone/command blocks when I was in middle-school, but hadn't really kept it up since then. I feel so old, but I think slime blocks were the big new thing back then lol. I've been picking it back up slowly over the last few years and I've really enjoyed getting caught back up and seeing all the newer redstone features get added. I think my progress has sped up this year :)

Anyway I'd love to hear you guys' thoughts on this one and if you notice any rookie mistakes or over-engineering. I want your secrets >:)
