I was cleaning my PS2 Fat (SCPH-30004) DVD drive and found this metal piece, but I can't figure out where it goes. I don't remember exactly where it came from. Does anyone know what part of the DVD drive this is from or where it should be installed?

Went to a collectibles show and ended up finding Black and Tomb Raider for $10 each CIB, been wanting Black for a while and I thought I’d get started on Tomb Raider as well, nice little pickups

I want to install the femc model and the dialogue project and play it on original hardware. Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I don't think it said on the github page and I'm not very experienced at this sort of thing.

Basically the title. I got an offer for a like new PS2, but I’m not sure if I should buy it. Since I’ve read that this particular model may not support softmodding based on the date code.

I’m interested on playing via SMB with OPL but I want to make sure if it’s even possible in the first place.

I thought i had gotten scammed a long time ago and got different halves of 2 different games as part of a trade. I have Growlanser Generations "Disc 1: Growlanser 2, The Sense of Justice" and "Disc 2: Growlanser 3, The Dual Darkness". But after having them for like 12 years now, I think they may be the same game..? The wiki was confusing...

Are they a single game on 2 discs with different names for some reason?

It isn't a loose ribbon as that isn't reaching high enough to touch the discs.

It's much more noticeable when PS1 driver disc speed is set to fast. You can't really hear it much when it isn't.

Way of the Samurai is an absolute masterclass in how to do a short game right. A single playthrough wraps up in just a couple of hours, but the insane amount of branching paths packed into that small runtime is mind-blowing. Every single choice, dialogue option, or unexpected clash completely alters how the whole narrative unfolds.

The combat itself is so satisfying really, and requires actual focus instead of mindless button-mashing. Collecting different Weapons, and mastering tons of movesets, and timing your parries or positioning just right gives every single duel a different aesthetics. you get hooked from the very first sword clash to the end.

It remains such a wonderfully quirky, beloved hidden gem, or I say it's a Cult Classic. Because the scale is so tight and focused, the incredible replayability means you'll constantly want to jump right back in to try completely different choices and uncover every possible outcomes.

i'm trying to find a proper ps2 hdmi converter that looks accurate to what youd get on a TV with native AV support. for now i can only afford this cheap PS2toHDMI converter but i cant help but notice the colors look really harsh and inaccurate. i played silent hill 2 especially and i swear it looked purple from trying to handle the dark environments.

what are some recommendations for a relatively accurate converter? im not a picky person so im not looking for super expensive upscalers like retrotink or anything. would be very happy to get an answer

Picked this banger off the rack to play tonight, probably one of my top 10 ps2 games , nostalgia maybe playing a big part as playing this with my old man when I was about 5 or 6 is one of my earliest gaming memories (the mummies scared the shit out of me back then)😂

any other fans of this game on here? My mates never played it and I never see it in anyones collections when they post them.

Here it is, the game that left the most impression of when I was a kid, for some reason the battle theme(taste the blood)still remains in my head rent-free ever since booting this game back in 2010

Absolutely the best game I've played on the ps2, up there with snake eater, re4 and bully, every about this game is amazing in my opinion, my only gripe is the sometimes messy fixed camera and being limited to only 2 weapons and one style.my playthrough became so much easier when I accepted that I'm more of a trickster guy than a royalguard guy, went from dying alot from bosses to only needing a few tries, the only ones I actually struggled with was Vergil

Imma try dmc1 some other time then just....maybe 2 as well.
