Squirrel Hill Giant Eagle made my son cry
We live a block from GE. My son was off school today. Wanted to go spend his allowance money and get snacks for him and his friend. The security officer stopped him, asked him questions about why he wasn’t in school. (They have the day off for parent teacher conferences- not that its giant eagle’s business) The security guard goes on to tell him that teenagers steal, rape, and do drugs! And did not let him in the store!!! What!?!
He came home crying thinking he did something wrong.
I went to the store. Spoke with manager. Was no help. Can’t get story straight about who is allowed in to buy groceries at what time. No signage telling us about this change. The guard said it was a PPS rule- which doesn’t make sense.
Just frustrated, mad, and disappointed. If people steal, then that person should be arrested. Instead they are banning all kids from entering the store. What!?

No ai slop at the coffee tree
I just wanted to show some appreciation to the coffee tree in Fox chapel because it seems like they've stayed away from the ai "art" fad happening at the moment. their iced white mocha is very addictive I can't stop drinking it honestly I should chill. (at least I get skim milk and half sweet so could be worse I guess)
do you know any businesses in Pittsburgh still resisting the ai slop bs?

Gridlock going into and leaving the Waterfront
For whatever reason, they have the Homestead Grays Bridge down to one lane each way. Nobody is working and nothing is dug up, total idiocy. Massive chaos has ensued. Avoid the area.

How does prince of India stay in business cost-wise?
This is absolutely not a negative comment about the restaurant.
I’m very curious how they’re able to make a profit with how low their buffet prices are. All the other buffet-style restaurants I know costs double or even more than their prices.

Where can I buy Erban/Qurban bread?
Next week I have a food club gathering with some coworkers. I wanted to show off some Erban/Qurban bread, since it's really tasty and unique.
I called around to Pitaland and Labad's Mediterranean Cafe and Grocery, but neither of them sell the bread. There was an International Market in the Oakland neighborhood who's name slips my tongue at the moment. I would have called them if I remembered the name. They sell things like Afghan and Azeri bread.
Is there any store in Pittsburgh that would sell Erban Bread? Or does anyone know the name of the International store that I am thinking of?

Fyi Gateway Center is being sold to the same management company that neglected the Pittsburgh Mills mall, Uniontown mall, and countless other properties across the United States. RIP
(Namdar. they reduce maintenance spending on all properties they own by 70% after they buy them) and a lot of other things.

Is this legal? I'm a caregiver for my family and the apartment wants to charge a fee for me to live there.
So my dad is trying to force the belief that I should be exempt from paying a background screening fee as I am an occupant caregiver. Here is what the apartment complex told us:
"Thank you for stopping by the office to discuss adding your daughter to the lease as an occupant, since she will be living in the home and serving as your caretaker.
I spoke with upper management about your request to waive the $75 background screening fee. I was advised that anyone residing in the community must complete a background screening.
If your daughter is staying in the unit for more than two weeks out of each month, the $75 background screening fee will need to be paid. Once the payment is received, we can run the required background screening on her and move forward with the process of adding her to the lease as an occupant.
I understand your circumstances and truly appreciate your understanding. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding the payment, background screening, or next steps. I would be happy to assist."
I'm trying to find out what my dad is talking about and all I really found is this:
"If an individual is diagnosed as disabled and requires a caregiver as a reasonable accommodation, the landlord cannot deny the caregiver's presence or impose additional fees, nor can they conduct a credit check.
Discrimination based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or age is prohibited under the Civil Rights Act."
So what I'm asking here is if this complex is trying to break the law or not.
