Does anyone feel there should be a follow up to the doc “Bittersweet Motel”?

Coming back after a 2 and a half decade hiatus, I am looking enjoying this band in a different way. At their shows, I am very impressed with how tight their live production is. It was always great, but with advances in technology it’s a thing to behold. CK5 is definitely the “5th Beatle”.

I think things they created like Clifford Ball through Lemonwheel, were the seed beds for Bonaroo and Coachella. I think the band has an undercurrent of positive influence on what live music is today (much as the dead before them).

Having worked in creative fields, I want to see behind the curtain, see how they plan tours, and some of the folks that have made this thing run for 40 years.

Obviously, there should be some story behind the hiatus and breakup, as well, but I am just amazed by this thing they’ve created and sustained, by their own terms.

Been working on this music visualizer for like 6 months. Inspired by Phish, Kuroda, and the Sphere.... I think it's pretty unique.

After a much longer dev process than I anticipated, it will hopefully be going up for free in the Mac app store sometime in the next few weeks. https://telaray.app if you want to sign up for the list to get notified.

Because we need some positivity

I've been to over 100 Phish shows now, and I guess I consider myself an old head. My first show was back in 1995. I raised my son in those crowds over the years. I remember feeling defeated when ticket prices crossed $50. I damn near cried when mail order went away.

I've begged, borrowed, and gone into debt chasing this band all over the country. I've made memories and friendships that will last a lifetime, and I've lost plenty of both along the way. I've traded tapes and CDs in parking lots, jammed them in the car between shows, and suffered through some of the worst port-a-potties known to mankind.

I've sold grilled cheese and water just to scrape together enough money to make it to the next show. I've been blessed with more than a few lot miracles, and I've handed out dozens of miracles myself. I've volunteered with charities to work concessions just to get through the door. Hell, I've even snuck into a few shows over the years.

I've seen a lot change in 30-plus years. Some for the better, some not so much.

I know there are a ton of people hurting and pissed off right now. People who poured every ounce of hope and energy into the lottery and public sale, only to get kicked square in the teeth. I get it. The system can be brutal, and I don't blame anyone for being angry. It hurts when something you love so much starts to feel out of reach.

But I hope, somewhere in all that frustration, we don't lose sight of what brought us all here in the first place.

This band has saved my life more than once. They've given me music, memories, friendships, and lyrics that are woven into the very fabric of who I am. My daughter's middle name is Joy, and that's no coincidence. This band has been part of my soul for most of my life.

And through all the changes, the struggles, the impossible tickets, and the years passing by, one thing has always meant more to me than anything else. The people. This crazy, beautiful community of people who somehow found each other through four guys making music.

So to everyone who got shut out of MSG, I'm genuinely sorry. I know how much those nights mean. And I'm holding out hope that somehow, some way, you find yourselves inside the Garden for shows 97–100.

Don't give up on the miracles. I've seen too many of them happen.

Love and light to all of you. See you out there.

I cried during A day in the life because its my favorite song of all time and I never thought I would see it live.

Why the proud hate for Phish?

So Phish just played in Richmond (my home town) and a lot of my friends saw them for the first time and were blown away.

With that said, prior to the show there was so much hate on the RVA Reddit page towards Phish and us fans and it makes me ask the question: why is it cool to hate Phish? Like, why do people go out of their way to talk shit about this band? I talked to so many locals who were pissed they were here.

Phish is definitely not the Dead but Jerry and those guys got similar hate and still do. Like, I’m not a fan of Imagine Dragons but I would never go out of my way to proudly shit on that band or their fans. Like I don’t shit on anyone for going to see live music but it seems people love to hate on Phish.

This is a serious question: why do people make it such a serious point to hate on Phish? Is it like a tough guy thing?

Phish should go through all of the ticket resale websites and cancel every ticket that they see with no refund

Something has to be done to get these tickets to real fans.

and please please please.

Do not buy a $1000+ ticket FFS

we need solidarity. this is a prisoner's dilemma. if we all refuse to pay those prices then they will come back down.

Don't be the weak link in the chain

In light of the misfortunes today, happy 14 years to Traveler

Discovered this album in highschool and it's never left my album circulation since. Wonderfully composed, thematically beautiful, and just an all around incredible experience front to back. Highlights for me are Frost, Architect, Traveler (specifically with the Scabbard reprise), Greyhound Rising. I just wish these songs would get some play by Phish sometime, I see on phish.net they played some of them years ago, but there's probably a reason they don't.

I also don't know the general community consensus on the album, so I'd love to hear other peoples' thoughts on it!

There will be a ticket dump on TM between now and December. The prices will come down to reality on Seat Geek. CoT will be back up and running soon. We will all get in the building for reasonable prices. Just hold out on the bots and scalpers. Now lets all step away from the screen and go get some tacos.

Does Fish have a vacuum technician? Is the one he plays original or has he had to replace it? Do they have names like Trey’s guitars?
