It's been happening in the EU and now it's coming to America

Today, Rep. Ritchie Torres (NY-15) announced he will introduce the Power To The Players Act, legislation that would direct the Federal Trade Commission to establish regulations protecting consumers’ ability to own and play the video games they purchase.

Over the past few years, video game companies have moved toward digital-only games and consoles, removing the option to buy or use physical games. These digital games are often sold as revocable licenses rather than owned outright, leaving players dependent on the company’s continued support. NBA 2K25 is a clear example. The game, which retailed for $69.99 for the standard edition and $99.99 for the All-Star Edition, will be delisted from digital storefronts on October 30 and will have its online servers shut down on December 31, only two years after its initial release. No consumer should have a game they paid for pulled out from under them on a company’s arbitrary timeline.

“When you pay for a game, you should own it,” said Rep. Torres. “Consumers must have the right to own, the right to play, and the right to transfer the games they buy. A game that can be taken away the moment a company pulls the plug is not a purchase. It is a rental disguised as a sale. Families in the Bronx and across the country save up to buy these games, and they deserve better than a license that can vanish at any time. The Power To The Players Act ensures consumers own what they buy and can keep playing long after a company moves on.”

Under the bill, buying a video game would give the consumer ownership of the game rather than a license to play it. Games with online functionality would also be required to provide an offline mode before the servers supporting them are shut down. 

The legislation aims to close the gap between buying a game and owning it. By preserving consumers’ ability to own and resell their games, the bill would ensure that players can keep playing the games they paid for with friends and family for years to come.

I've played a lot of indie games like stardaw valley and nine sols or any shooter games that can run on old pc

I'm making Wakefolk, a zombie colony sim with three survivors. You set their jobs and plan the camp; they gather, craft, cook and rest on their own. Zombies follow noise, and the attacks grow each night. The first goal is to survive ten nights.

Made a mod where you can play as the Team Fortress 2 classes in GTA V. The Engineer builds his sentry, hits it with his wrench to upgrade it, and it tracks and shoots whatever comes at you, helicopters included.

The 1st game was a typing game it had a space theme you type word to avoid Astrodome being hit,second was a engineer game where you could build things anything you could imagine geers,conveyor a list tools,mechanism this I played 2004 but don't know when came out these were school learning type

There 100's of game that are considered good.

One may have amazing gameplay. One may have amazing story, And one might make you deep questions.

But there are very few that can all of those and do them right.

Those are what I consider masterpiece.

Dishonored is that Masterpiece.
I can sit here and talk about all the other things that Dishonored does so well.....

but the part that ruined games for me was

The player freedom.

This game gives you ridiculous amounts of freedom

and variety in the consequences of your decisions.

HOW DID THEY DO IT? IT'S BLACK MAGIC.

I’m thinking about buying it and giving it a try. I haven’t played any multiplayer games in a while and I’m just looking to add a new shooting game to my steam library that I can actually have fun with. Be honest and let me know if it’s full of sweats cause that’s a important info as well, I wanna be prepared for the worst lol

to be fair any good game will work, been starving to play something good

because it is an intregreated graphics card most games dont even boot in here

I've been working on making boss fights feel more epic in Tower Legends, my solo-developed tower defense game.

Bosses now have their own cinematic entrances and death animations, giving these encounters a bit more personality and making victories feel more rewarding.

Co-developed multiplayer tank shooter: you drop in, fight every other tank on the map, and leave whenever you like. Features/concept:

• Every kill earns a card draw that upgrades your tank or swaps you into another one. Die and you start over
• A bounty: after 10 draws in one life, your tank is marked for everyone and you have 4 minutes to survive
