advice needed Do i need to cut the Play Pen chord?

I have several friends with singletons the same age as my babies. (13m)
My babies are walking, theirs aren’t. Not really sure if that matters but including it anyway.
They have all ditched their play pens. Or at least minimize the time in there.
I cannot fathom keeping track of mine outside of the play pen. They are walking but still somewhat wobbly and veryyyyyy fast. We have wood floors too.
Our play pen is really big for what it is. Like 8x8
They don’t seem unhappy in it. But I’m wondering if I’m doing them an injustice by continuing to use it.

advice needed What about maternity clothes?

So my gorgeous wife is a size XL petite. We have suddenly realised that triplets (or twins, should things go that way) in the uterus will result in her becoming somewhat, you know, larger about the middle. And we went to a maternity sale today and there was very little plus size clothing and it got us thinking. What do people wear in late second/early third trimester with multiples? She's always been a pants girlie, but are dresses going to become the only option? What do we do to clothe her glorious person? Are there certain brands/types of clothing we should be watching for on secondhand markets that will make life easier later on?

advice needed Dad can’t seem to soothe twins

Does anyone else find that their husbands are generally less successful at soothing their crying twins?
My girls are almost 10 weeks now and my husband has been getting less and less able to calm them when they get hysterical. I’m home with them all day while he’s at work but he’s still very hands on and helps with overnight feeds and our bedtime routine. It makes me feel bad because it’s usually just easier for me to take over- otherwise he just gets screamed at for however long it takes them to fall back asleep.
Any suggestions? It would be nice to take some time for myself without feeling like he’s going through emotional warfare 😩

advice needed Toilet training with twins

My twins are now just over 2 and have started to show some interest in potty training. We decided to follow a method and commit and one of them has taken to it like a duck to water. He is pretty good at it after 3-4 days. The other twin really struggles and becomes distressed with attempting to go on the potty.

It is best to just continue with one child and attempt with the other at a later time?

advice needed Looking for advice for taking twin 1 year olds on an international flight

• Upvotes

Long story short, the US sucks right now and has caused my family to be separated for over a year. But we are hopefully reuniting in November, moving in with the twins’ dad soon in a different country.

This means… 9 hour international flight! Fortunately, grandma will come with me, so I won’t be alone. We are sitting across the aisle from each other, and I’ve requested mobility accommodations in the airport so we can get whisked through the lines etc.

They will be on our laps. We are flying Delta.

Any advice? Worried about ear pain especially and how they will sleep… I’m planning on bringing two baby carriers so we can wear them.

Thanks… from an exhausted mama who just wants her husband.

life, home, and baby tips & tricks Recs for a twin kitchen stool/ladder?

I’d like a good double step stool that can be easily folded up. So my toddlers can start participating in meal prep and learning in the kitchen. Thanks!

ranting & venting Is 4 months awful for anyone else?

My boys turned for months the beginning of this month and my god has it been hell… it’s making me miss the newborn phase. I’m not sure what I’m looking for, I think just a space to vent because I am going insane.

My twin A who was sleeping through the night woke up every hour last night and has been crying pretty much all day today. He took a break to take a couple short contact naps but If he’s awake, he’s screaming. It feels like no matter what I do, nothing helps. Twin B hasn’t been as bad but is still having his moments. Today was definitely the worst of it but for the last couple weeks they just seem so pissed off at the world all the time. It’s so hard to soothe them both when they are crying so much. I feel like such a failure as a mom right now. :(

good vibes, smiles, & giggles Twins again!

I (28F) have 3 year old twins (F) and an 8 month old (F) , we always talked about having 4 kids and I found out I was pregnant a week ago, we started joking about it being twins again but didn’t actually believe it was gonna happen again & well here we are…. It’s twins again. I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant and I can honestly say that it’s already super different from my previous pregnancy because I don’t have a single symptom, the only reason I took it’s because I was having food aversions and it happened with my last pregnancy so I just thought I would just take a test.

It’s also different in the sense that its DiDi twins this time (my 3 year old are identical MoDi)so let’s see how this goes , one thing for certain is that this is my last pregnancy,we’re so done and we’re excited about that.

Let’s also see if we’re going 5/5 on girls or if we’re bringing 1 or 2 boys to the bunch. This time we decided to wait till the birth to find out , which is already giving me anxiety lol

I had fraternal twin girls 2 years ago and while it’s been the biggest challenge of my life, it’s been the most rewarding. These girls have brought the best out of me on this journey. I’ve learned patience, boundaries, being more organized and productive, and most of all staying in the moment. Thank you to this group because I have posted hear many times and have always received so much grace and support. Keep at it parents of multiples bc we warriors!!!

support needed Di/di triplets

• Upvotes

Hi, I had my 12 week scan yesterday and confirmed that my triplets are Di/di. I have a follow up appointment with the head of fetal medicine/ multiples specialist tomorrow to discuss plans etc for this pregnancy, but as this isn’t the most common case of triplets I was just wondering whether anybody on here has been through or is currently experiencing the same?

Obviously I’m anxious about possible complications so it would be nice to connect with anyone who has first hand experience.

advice needed Sleep in the Cybex Gazelle S

We have the cybex gazelle s for our twins and they're about to size out of the bassinet attachment. Does anyone know if the infant seats are safe for daytime naps? My understanding is the top seat can recline back but the bottom one cannot. Is there anyone who has had this pram and experienced this? I'm just nervous that whoever goes into the bottom seat, if it can't recline I'll be anxious about any naps...

advice needed When did you stop working when pregnant with triplets?

Have searched on here and seen a lot of posts asking when people stopped working while pregnant with twins, but not seeing one regarding triplets and know the goal is to deliver them between 32-35 weeks based on what my team has told me.

I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant with tri/tri triplets and trying to plan ahead and curious when others stopped working. My job isn't particularly physical but not a strictly desk job either with no work from home option and want to do whatever I can to keep these babies in me as long as possible.

I've asked my MFM team when I should expect to stop working and they said they'd write a note for my job as soon as I want them to which I'm grateful for.

experience/advice to give Parents of Twins + 1

Looking for some positive twin and sibling experiences.. I have identical twins girls and a baby girl 3 years younger. My husband keeps talking about going for a fourth next year so the youngest doesn't feel left out. I agree in a sense but mentally, physically and emotionally, I had accepted that this was my last baby. Also, my youngest started out as a twin (vanishing twin syndrome) so if we went again for another and it turned out to be twins, she would feel even more excluded! I'm looking for some positive experiences of twins who were close to their singleton (hate that word) sibling with a similar age difference. I keep fretting over it (still hormonal) and am also not sure whether to get rid of all my baby items as she grows out of them 😂

experience/advice to give C section tomorrow morning

I am 34+5 today with mo/di twins and tomorrow morning I am having a c section ❤️
The twins are about +2 kilos each. My latest scans showed a little bit of low flow for twin A and my body and mind is exhausted from carrying and from worrying. So they have scheduled the c section for tomorrow. I had dreamed of giving vaginal birth, but the doctors don’t want to put that stress on my little guys.

Don’t really know what I want with this post other than share that I am so excited, so nervous, so happy and so worried!

Any success c-section stories anyone wants to share?

I cannot wait to hold my boys in my arms 🥹❤️🤞🏽❤️‍🩹

advice needed Tandem carrying twins 101 - help!

hi! my twins are coming anytime now and we haven’t figured this out yet. I’d prefer a wrap rather than a carrier, as I’ve heard it can be used for a longer amount of time vs only for a couple of months.

What worked for you?? Are there any brands you’d recomment? These are my first kids so completely clueless lol any tips welcome!

advice needed No match for daycare: how to handle weekends

My boys are 16 months and started daycare a little over a month ago. They love it. Sure there was an adjustment but it was mostly me and while they do cry when we leave and get super pumped when we pick them up, their teachers are super impressed with their adjustment. They are happy all day.

But now it seems we are not enough for them. We are screen free and we like to go outdoors a lot. They have lots of toys (I rotate them and it’s not a ton, lots of open ended ones), and one is absolutely obsessed with books. But what normally cut it now doesn’t seem stimulating enough. We used to be able to read a book or write a quick email or sneak around the corner for a few seconds, but no more.

They are active. Always were, but now it’s intense and they seem to need constant attention. I can’t get away without constant whining.

I am at a loss, other than taking them out absolutely all the time, and we just can’t do it every second of every day. Also, I am an older mom at 39 and boy am I feeling it.

Any advice and suggestions on activities that are cheap or free or just something I might not be doing. Sometimes I miss the obvious.

advice needed 20 month old toddlers... I loved 12-18 months but the double tantrums... when will this get easier?!

As the title says. Do I really have to survive til 5?

The tantrums are crazy and seem to have come out of nowhere in terms of length and strength... we had a great run between 12-18 months but this age is so emotionally draining!

experience/advice to give New here, mom of 2 tubie boys 💙

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm a mom to two boys who are both tube-fed and both autistic. Some days it feels like my whole life is feeds, pump bags, and appointments, and it can get really lonely.

I've been lurking for a bit and finally wanted to say hi. It helps so much just knowing other families are out there doing this too.

What's one thing that made tubie life a little easier for your family? I'd love to hear your tips (and your wins!).
