Do the latest releases of cerbios work with a scart and 1.6.

I know historically 1.6 with scart wasnt possible.

Plug in a USB stick. Your games show up with box art. Press A. That's it.

Game Vault is the console-style front end that turns a Dev Mode Xbox into one machine for your whole collection: original Xbox, Xbox 360, PS1, PS2, GameCube, Wii and 30+ more systems. 🔥 What's new

- Play now, no waiting. Big drive? As soon as the first games are found, press A and you're in. The search carries on in the background and new games slide in when it's done. (You asked for this one!)

- Original Xbox: running on diagonals works. Modern pads don't push all the way into the corners the way the original Xbox controller did, so some games made you walk instead of run. The sticks now give the full range, just like the real thing.

- Original Xbox: xemu's menu stays out of your game. Buttons you press in xemu's menu no longer leak into the game's own pause menu.

- Xbox 360: games that need a special setting just get it. Xenia for Game Vault now switches it on by itself for those games, and only for them. Nothing to configure.

- GameCube & Wii: your controller works from the first second, so "Press any button" screens respond right away.

- No more dropping back to Dev Home. If Dolphin for Game Vault isn't installed yet, Game Vault tells you and RT installs it. The Mac setup now installs the right Dolphin too.

- Games from your PC or NAS start right away, straight from the shared folder. No copying first.

- Network setup that holds your hand. The phone page speaks your language (English, Português, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano), tells you exactly what to type, and tells you what to check if something's off.

- A cleaner shelf. BIOS files, emulator folders, README files and Mac "._" files no longer show up as games, and they clear out by themselves after you update.

- Way more box art. Arcade games, PlayStation / PS2 / PSP games, "(US)" files and titles with numbers in the name now find their covers, and lots of European releases get a gameplay preview.

- PS2: Game Properties works during play, so you can change a game's own settings from the pause menu.

- Atari ST and MSX pla

Test builds, made and tested on one Series X. Lots of games run great; some still don't. Series S should work but isn't tested yet. The best way to help: say yes to "Help make Game Vault better?" so problem reports come in while you play (you can turn it off with the Menu button). Those reports are exactly what get games fixed. Tried it? Tell me what worked and what didn't!

The code is written with an AI assistant (Claude), and the READMEs say so. xemu, Xenia and SDL don't accept AI-written code, so these are separate forks: please don't report problems with them to those teams. Free for noncommercial use.

A PROUD MOMENT FOR THE OG XBOX SCENE!

Yesterday, @Siktah and I were fortunate enough to be invited by Microsoft to attend their Xbox 25th Anniversary FanFest, and what an incredible experience it was!

We met some amazing people from across the gaming industry, including game developers, voice actors, graphic designers, audio engineers, and many others.

But the biggest highlight was something neither of us ever expected!

We had the opportunity to sit down for a one on one discussion with Carl Ledbetter (Head of Design, Xbox Devices) and Chris Kujawski (Senior Director, Xbox Hardware Design).

We showed them some of the incredible work being done within the Xbox scene, both hardware and software, and even showcased prototype hardware from an upcoming project.

Their reaction genuinely surprised us!

Not only were they impressed, but they actually asked if the hardware was available to the public!

We explained our open source philosophy, where people can build the hardware themselves, have PCB fabrication services do it, or purchase pre built units.

They absolutely loved the concept! Especially the community driven, open source approach to both hardware and software.

🔥 THE CONVERSATION GOT EVEN MORE INTERESTING...

We took the opportunity to ask questions many in the Xbox-Scene have probably wanted to ask Microsoft for years.

We discussed XDK usage, software development, hardware modifications, and whether Microsoft might ever consider publicly releasing development tools for previous gen consoles.

I specifically asked about the original Xbox XDK, but their response caught me completely off guard.

"Why stop at the OG Xbox? Why not include the Xbox 360 as well?"

They even suggested how cool it would be if the community could access original CAD files for creating 3D printed parts and other projects.

⚠️ Before anyone gets too excited, these were simply ideas discussed during our conversation, NOT official announcements or promises from Microsoft.

However, they did say they would take our feedback back to headquarters!

We honestly expected some of these questions to be shut down or avoided, but instead we were met with genuine enthusiasm, curiosity, and openness.

And all of this happened BEFORE the main on-stage Q&A session!

THEN SOMETHING UNBELIEVABLE HAPPENED...

During the Q&A, while discussing the original Xbox, Carl Ledbetter gave a personal shout out to Siktah, myself, and everyone involved in this upcoming hardware release!

He even told everyone in attendance how impressed he was with the project and how cool it was for OG Xbox owners.

I honestly cannot put into words what that moment meant to us.

Here we were, two members of the Xbox-Scene community, attending an official Microsoft event, and the Head of Design for Xbox Devices was publicly acknowledging the work being done by our scene and friends.

At that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride.

Not just for Siktah and myself, or those involved in these hardware / software projects, but for EVERYONE who has contributed to keeping the scene alive!

The Xbox-Scene Discord community, the developers creating incredible homebrew software, the hardware modders designing and testing new solutions, the people contributing to open source projects, and everyone who has shared knowledge, helped others, or supported us throughout the years.

THIS RECOGNITION WASN'T JUST FOR US. IT WAS FOR ALL OF YOU!

For over two decades, this community has continued to innovate, preserve, and push the boundaries of a console we all love.

And yesterday, the people helping shape the future of Xbox got to see firsthand what the community preserving its past has achieved.

That's something we should ALL be incredibly proud of!

To everyone who has supported us, contributed to the scene, or helped keep the original Xbox alive...

Ohhh And left out the most important part.. We gifted them a working prototype of hardware including exchanging contact details and what & how to install it.

Snatched up these 3 games from a bloke "locally" for 45 kangaroo bucks! Round trip was about 50km.

My little project I’ve been putting together lately. Wasn’t able to get the best pics, was too much in a rush to chill. Figured I’d share what my setup looks like as my first post. This has been a great decompress space for me! Give it a rating if you guys don’t mind.🔥🙏🏽

I’m disabling 480p and my screen shifts to the right, if I do screen calibration its going off the shifted bar as you can on third picture.
If I do enable 480p it does centers itself but for some reason with my tv calibrated the image looks dimmer. By the way I’m using the electronxout adapter.

I've tried looking around, but my Google-fu has failed to find anyone else explaining this. My games list is mostly alphabetical, but some games are out of order - particularly when there are series of multiple entries. This kind of behavior is something I would have expected on some (for example Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is alphabetically before Splinter Cell: Pandora tomorrow), but it even does it with games like Halo and Halo 2 (Halo 2 appears first).

Is there any way for me to change the order of the list? Renaming the display name doesn't help, nor did renaming the internal XBE name via the file browser.

Running UIX Lite 0.6 on a softmod Xbox 1.0.

I think the hard drives are bad. I have like 4 mobo/HD combos that I have in a box that have piled up and now I want to try to tackle this soon. I'd like to be able to flash TSOP. They are all TSOP flashable. How can I do this without technically being able to boot the system to softmod it first? I figured I should be able to TSOP and then replace the HD easily, but how to get to that point?

We met playing the original Rainbow Six 3 on Xbox Live and later played a lot of Halo 2, Project Gotham Racing 2, and some MechWarrior. All of us were around 13-17 years old at the time (currently 37 myself)

My old gamertag was Snake915. Jordan's was something like Black Fox, possibly followed by numbers. I also remember two older regulars whose gamertags were something like CC88 and Buckshot Bob.

We were all into metal, especially Metallica and Lamb of God. I also remember us getting excited about Jonathan Davis from Korn being on Xbox Live for some one-off Halo 2 event. One of us actually had the account accept the request and FREAKING OUT 😅

Jordan and Kevin were real-life friends from Louisville, and I spent a lot of time gaming and joking around with Jordan in particular. We had a pretty memorable group to say the least. Just a bunch of rowdy weird teenagers lol.

I know this is a long shot after 20 years, but it any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to reconnect!

Hi i am trying to install some dashboard and apps to my xbox after modchip with the hexen disk but nothing works every install is stuck at 0.Keep in mind that i use a pc dvd drive because the og one was broken with error 12.What can i do to download the dashboard?Thanks

Everytime I attempt to mod this xbox it gets angry and either shuts off or hangs on a black screen. I've tried everything, including attempting to do the original modding process with splinter cell. When I try and do the original modding process, it doesn't even show the files in the usb, and as mentioned before when I try to do the modern setup it either hangs or my xbox shuts off.

I've opened the xbox, cleaned it, got rid of the dust, checked for faulty lines, and done every troubleshooting process imaginable, but it still doesn't work. I'm seriously at a loss and I'm feeling bummed out, is my xbox the issue, or am I doing something wrong in my process?

Popped a 1.0 to check up on condition, I see caps looks fine, though there is different brands is this normal with diff kinds. It has not been opened before.

Would you change the caps in this condition ?

I’m trying to back up my saves & profile stuff from my modded Rocky5 OG Xbox. I have the 1tb USB connected, but I don’t know how to copy that stuff to the stick. Can anyone help?

Yesterday I posted Game Vault, the front end that turns a Dev Mode Xbox into one console for your whole collection. Thanks to everyone who installed it and sent problem reports. Those reports drove most of this update.

🔥 What's new

- Save sync between devices. Play on the Xbox, then keep going on your Android handheld, and back again. Game Vault keeps your saves and memory cards in step with a folder on your PC or NAS. From there the free app Syncthing passes them on to your handheld (RetroArch, and PS2 apps like ARMSX2/AetherSX2). It syncs when Game Vault opens, after every game, and when you switch it on. Nothing is ever deleted: if you played the same game on both before they synced, the newer save wins and the other one goes into an "older saves" folder. Menu → Options → Save sync.

- Play games straight from your PC or NAS. No USB stick needed. Share a folder on your PC (the setup has a one-click helper for this) or point it at a NAS, and those games show up on the shelf. Original Xbox games stream straight over the network.

- GameCube and Wii fixed. Some of you got a black screen and then Dev Home. I tracked it down to a timing bug in Dolphin's start-up and made our own build, Dolphin for Game Vault. Games now boot straight from the shelf. Setup installs it for you and moves your old Dolphin saves and settings across.

- Arcade and DOS. A new ARCADE tab for MAME / FinalBurn Neo sets, Atomiswave, NAOMI and Triforce, plus DOS games through DOSBox Pure. Arcade sets are recognised by their zip name, and BIOS sets are hidden from the shelf.

- 6 languages. English, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, French, German and Italian. It follows your console's language, or you can choose one yourself.

- New OPTIONS screen on the Menu button: language, save sync, network games, problem reports, and a switch to stop the search when Game Vault opens.

- Auto quality for original Xbox games. If the console's GPU can't keep up, the render resolution steps down by itself instead of the game slowing down.

- A new intro when Game Vault starts (any button skips it).

- Mac setup (BETA). You can now install from a Mac as well as a PC. It hasn't been tested on a real Mac yet, so please tell me how it goes.

🛠️ Fixes from your reports

- An original Xbox crash that stopped every game on some consoles (a sound chip instruction) is fixed.

- Out-of-memory crashes in some original Xbox games on Series S are fixed.

- Series S on a 4K TV: the picture no longer sits in the bottom-left corner.

- Huge libraries (100,000 files) no longer freeze for a minute after the search.

- Box art and clean names for scene-named files ("Name_Of_Game_[tags]") and "Name - Subtitle" games.

- No more "searching" badge every time it opens; you just get "X new games found" when there are some.

- Xbox 360 games always go to Xenia now, never to the original Xbox emulator.

- Xenia now fills the whole screen instead of the TV-safe area.

- USB drives that drop out and come back are handled calmly, and your Xbox saves backup picks up where it stopped.

Hey everyone,

I’ve got an original Xbox (with a modchip installed, looks like an Aladdin-style chip with a 49LF020 flash) that’s having some issues. When I plug in the power cable it turns on by itself, the power and eject buttons don’t respond, the green light blinks, and there’s no video output.

I opened it up and found that the single white wire coming from the modchip is loose. From what I understand this should be the D0 wire that needs to be soldered to the motherboard’s D0 point so the chip can force a boot.

I’ve attached photos showing the modchip, the LPC wires, and the loose white wire (one of them has a red circle around the free end of the wire).

Can someone please point out (or mark on the photo) exactly where this wire needs to be soldered?

Is it on the top side near the MCPX / RAM area, or do I need to look on the bottom of the board?

Any help is much appreciated – thanks!

14 years ago my oldest bro soft mod his xbox successfully. I recently dissembled, cleaned, replace thermal paste. When I powered on the console, the light was a normal green. However after a minute, it turned solid red. I tested a game and everything worked fine.
