After a month off, it was great to get back into the groove and, honestly, this one couldn't have gone better! Everyone was very chill and we had a good number of new faces. It was nice to just hang out, chat, and mingle. We always appreciate everyones ability to just go with the flow and vibe together!

We continue posting some unedited photos, when given permission, just as a way to share more about our group.

I will post about the next meet in a week or so. Again, we are moving around to all days of the week to give everyone a chance to join us.

As always, I did want to comment for anyone that may be on the fence about attending, for whatever reason. Please feel free to reach out to me and I will do my best to alleviate any concerns that you may have. We aim to provide a very chill, laid back environment. I'm a very anxious person myself and often need a pep talk, haha. We want you to join us and push past anything that may holding you back. We believe that you will be glad you came.

Those who attended PLEASE feel free to share your experiences in the comment section! We'd love to hear yall's stories.

With that said: SEE YOU ALL IN THE NEXT POST AND EVENT!!

Recommendation/Review Free things to do in OKC

I compiled a document focused on free community meetups (free things you can do while meeting people)

for that reason, I havent included many (if any) solo free things to do (such as going to parks or libraries) since this list is supposed to be community-building-oriented

uf you have things to add please lmk and I will get to it when I can!

The list is long so it is in Docs form

I found these turkeys walking around Oklahoma City this morning. I don’t know if this posted all three of my photos, but here’s a picture of at least one of the turkeys.

Recommendation/Review Vocal coaches?

• Upvotes

I am thinking about getting my mom vocal lessons for Christmas. Anyone have suggestions on vocal coaches? She is in OKC on the north west side, she used to do 1 on 1 lessons as a kid, but doesn't mind group classes. She is a pretty good singer but certainly still amateur. I really dont want to Whiplash her or anything. She is a teacher so it has to be open in the evening or weekends. I'm not sure what other questions to ask about a vocal coach lol

❓Q&A ✅ Are OKC utilities just way higher than Norman on average?

Post image
18 Upvotes

The left is our highest bill we ever paid with Norman utilities for our water bill, and the left is our current water bill with OKC. Our average in Norman was like $80 typically.

We just moved over here 2 months ago, and we don't do anything different with our water use than we did when we were in Norman.

Does OKC just have way higher base prices??

❓Q&A ✅ Anyone do 1 on 1 French tutoring?

Does anyone in the metro area provide private lessons or classes for French? Preparing for a trip in 2027 and while I've heard good things about OCCC and UCO, I'm curious about other options in the city.

🍽️ Food/Drink 🥂 Best egg rolls in OKC

I’m looking for the very best egg rolls in OKC. I’ve lived in OKC my entire life and I used to go to Canton for egg rolls because they were handmade daily. Now that it’s gone, I’ve not found a new place with freshly handmade big thick egg rolls. Where are they at? Name and location please 🙏 and thank you 😊. Ohh they have to have that hot mustard!

Recommendation/Review Cowboy hall of fame?

I haven’t been to the cowboy hall of fame since I was a little kid. Don’t remember anything about it. This weekend I’m single dadding it, and figure it would be a good time to go take the toddler to a museum that we wouldnt normally go to with the wife. Does it get very busy/crowded/loud on the weekends?

❓Q&A ✅ 15-Year Old Birthday Party Ideas

I have an almost 15 year old daughter, and we are trying to think of fun ideas for her and her friends to have her birthday party at. We have been trying to think of fun restaurants that they would all enjoy, or places like Andretti’s, D&B’s, Chicken & Pickle, Inspirations Tea Room, and so on, that we may have not discovered yet. Are there any fun places like that or a restaurant that would make for a fun party? She wants around 5 people to come and we are trying to stay on the north side of the metro. Thank you!

Recommendation/Review Friend with Hashimoto’s

Hi! I have a friend desperate to find a good doctor to help treat her (diagnosed with Hashimoto’s) thyroid and hormone imbalance issues. Her doctor is switching to functional medicine in their practice, and her insurance doesn’t cover it. Out of pocket costs need to be at a minimum. Thanks in advance!

🚗 Streets of OKC 🚧 Renovations at Will Rogers International Airport

Oklahoma City is growing, and its airport has plans to keep up.

On Tuesday, city and airport leaders announced new details about expansions and upgrades at Will Rogers International Airport, where passenger traffic has increased 25% over the past decade.

“We have to plan and prepare for that growth at our airport, because we never want to decline new air service due to inadequate infrastructure,” OKC Mayor David Holt wrote in a social media post.

Plans include a roundabout on the drive into and out of the terminal, a new parking garage, a covered rideshare area and restroom renovations.

Inside the airport, crews have already begun replacing the concourse's tile floors with terrazzo. The change isn’t just for looks, according to OKC Director of Airports Jeff Mulder.

“The clickety-clack noise that we’re known for will be going away,” Mulder said at a press conference.

The flooring update is expected to be finished by early 2028. But many parts of this plan don’t have a set timeline. Instead, they’ll begin when the airport hits certain traffic milestones.

In a statement, Mulder called it “a monumental step” toward matching the airport’s traveler and air traffic capacities.

Officials ultimately hope to add 16 gates and quadruple the number of passengers who come through Will Rogers each year.

Recommendation/Review Trick or Treating in the city?

Hi all! No one trick-or-treats in my neighborhood (found out the hard way our first year with two giant costco bags of candy), and my 5 year old I think is old enough now to enjoy trick-or-treating. I'm looking for a walk-able neighborhood where we could take her, if anyone knows of one?

🚗 Streets of OKC 🚧 Film Row/West Village

Film Row/West Village is becoming a really nice part of downtown, and I think that means it’s time for more improvements. How does everyone here feel about expanding the streetcar system out that way? Is there any reason we shouldn’t do this? That and deep deuce are the two neighborhoods that are not streetcar-accessible downtown.
