Discussion Is Liam Gallagher a National Treasure?
Back in 2015 they did this sketch on Red Nose Day as a joke, but I would say that in gods year of 2026, that Liam is a bonafide national treasure

Discussion Just watched the documentary. Need to vent.
That was the most intense and emotionally euphoric two hours I've ever experienced. Absolutely superb, the backstage and rehearsal footage was incredible. Loved how they interspersed old footage with the new. The build up to the Cardiff gig was very, very intense, god knows what it must have been like to be an actual part of any of it.
I'm watching it again now on repeat, may be a late night. What a fucking band. That is all.

Discussion Oasis were already recovering in america before breaking up in 2009
Was looking at oasis's billboard chart history and found this interesting. Don't believe the truth really WAS seen as a return to form. It charted far higher than SOTSOG & HC, they were selling out the biggest venues they'd ever played in america at the time, and lyla charted just outside of the billboard hot 100. Then when DOYS came out, it hit the top 5 and shock of the lightning became one of the the few oasis songs to chart on the billboard hot 100! (Btw, more popular songs like champagne supernova, live forever, don't go away, d'you know what I mean and supersonic never charted on billboard hot 100 because they were ineligible, but charted high on overall radio airplay and alt rock charts instead - as was common for big bands in the US).
It makes me wonder, especially now with their comeback and massive popularity, how big a new album would be if it was really good. Not just in Europe and other parts of the world, but in the USA too. Could definitely see them getting their first number 1 album over there.

Live ‘27 How best to re-introduce my US buddy to Oasis
British guy here and managed to convince my new US buddy to go to the Vegas show with me next year.
He’s heard of a few of their songs I would imagine it along the same lines as what’s posted here for Americans: https://www.reddit.com/r/oasis/s/nUVDXkvof8
So I wondering what would be the best way to get him familiar with their back catalog.
I’m half thinking to send him a link to the Masterplan album to experience the amazing b-sides from the singles of the first 2 albums, then add a select few songs from DM and MG.
I know we’re all different and appreciate music in different ways, but any tips you may have would be appreciated!

Live ‘27 Realistic openers?
Any guesses on who realistically besides Ascroft will open for Oasis?

Discussion Don’t look back in anger doc
Honestly, I loved bit of it but I’m not too impressed. Infact, I don’t think it was a documentary at all. It was more of a concert/your movie with Noel and Liam commentary between songs.
The back stage stuff in Cardiff was super cool, so was their rehearsals. But after that it was just song after song. More behind the scenes would’ve been nice

Discussion 2027 Oscar - Best Documentary
It’s very obvious Disney were going all in on DLBIA for the best documentary Oscar.
I can’t believe all hope of that was shattered overnight by Nathan Fielder’s new documentary about Elizabeth Holmes.
The film industry is crazy! Thoughts?
Image My Beginner Oasis CD Collection !!!
I've bought everything this month. Im still searching for SOTSOG and HC
Image A few old postcards
I found a bunch of mailouts/flyers/postcards from the 90's stashed in my 45's record box I thought I'd lost! Loads from Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene, The Orb, and many others including these from Oasis.
Image Liam in Mexico - custom Displate
I ordered a custom Displate with this amazing picture from Liam in Mexico. It looks so fucking good!!!
For those of you who don’t know : Displate are high-quality metal prints. They are attached to the wall with a glued magnet. They have thousands of premade prints but you can also import your own picture.

Discussion Columbia tidbit for the players
This one is a nerdy post for the guitar players- like many, I really enjoyed the doc clip of the band rehearsing Columbia- https://youtube.com/shorts/nssAF2jYSwE?is=i0G5dE6sfaUc4CTR
I watched it again and noticed something interesting. At a very high level, Columbia is essentially three chords over and over- A / D / C. But if you play just those three chords in either the open position at the second fret or as straight power chords, it doesn’t quite sound like what we hear in the doc.
After watching carefully I realized there are two things that make Columbia sound as awesome as it does in the doc. The first is that one of the guitars (or Bonehead/Gem together) play the D and C with a suspended shape, almost sounding like an add9. Maybe this is the more obvious tidbit.
But then when you watch Noel during “I can’t tell you the way I feel”, you can see he actually doesn’t switch to D and C from A at all- he actually hangs on a ringing A played with the open A string and 7th fret D string.
Imo this creates a very cool tension between the descending D/C sus chords from Bonehead/Gem and Noel who basically hangs on A for the whole thing. Try it if you don’t believe me 😎😎😎
Anyway TLDR anyone who says Oasis songs are easy is a pleb. There are always these little things in the arrangement that contribute to the songs sounding as amazing as they do!
And yes, NG would probably hate me overanalyzing the chord choices, but this is a guy who counts Burt Bacharach as one of his heroes…one of the most sophisticated and elegant songwriters of all time!
