Anyone else noticing a fair few about especially recently, and plenty being driven like they get their own personal blank copy of the highway code with no rules. With no enforcement on the roads (and enough cash to pay the fine if they were, without feeling it), they do whatever the hell they want?
Just nearly had a huge US style station wagon looking thing drive the wrong way up St Nicholas Street, windows so blacked out it's impossible to see the driver, nearly hit me head on (back of the car had a plate on in mid east style but no nationality stamp). Had supercars go past on Huntingdon street like they're on a hot lap on GT7 in the last day or two, on Kuwaiti and KSA plates.
Is it because university is back in session so the uber rich kids are back in town, or more connected to something else?

Packers Place alley, looking towards Mansfield Road. (2014). On the wall can be seen part of the pub's title that stood on the left in the 1920s. That was the Dog and Gun Inn. The alley (and there are others) connected Mansfield Road with N Sherwood Street, so the Inn's name was visible front and back. Today (Oct 2026) the site where the Inn once stood (number 207) is occupied by "The Open Kitchen, Free Hot Food For Those In Need".

Anyone going to the Bollywood Halloween Party at The Tunnel tomorrow? I’ve already bought a ticket but my friend cancelled last minute. Anyone else going or fancy joining up?

Hey everyone! 👋🏻
I’m a 24-year-old guy living in Nottingham and currently finishing my postgraduate studies at the University of Nottingham. I’m looking to make some new friends to hang out with and do fun things together, as making friends as an adult isn’t always the easiest 😂
I’m pretty open to anything, whether it’s exploring the city, going on countryside walks, checking out cafés, trying new food spots, watching films, gaming or just having a good chat.
It would be nice to find some like-minded people who are up for making plans and building genuine friendships. Feel free to drop me a message if you’re interested! 😊

Hi,
I am have been recently planning to move to Burton joyce and buy a house there.
Ive never lived there and neither has my partner but we would like to get some opinions about how the place is.
The house we are planning to buy falls near the Victoria Retail Park. It is also likely to be the house we will live in for the next 20 years or so as we are trying to settle down.
We plan to have kids in the future so would also love to get some opinions on how good it is as an area for kids as well and if the school options are any good.
We are also people of colour and are wondering how diverse the area is and how bad any racial discrimination there could be.
Would love to get to know the good and the bad stuff so we can make a better informed decision on if it’s the right place for us.
Thank you

Hello folks, I am a BIG fan of 2nd hand & antique stores as well as yard sales, never know what you can find there, can be nothing , or can be an authentic ww1 helmet or something like that, or an out of print high cost book or toy.
I was wondering if there is a community on reddit or Facebook that announces this kind of stuff?

Calling all folks interested in playing tabletop roleplaying games!
The Nottingham RPG group has been running since 2022, to give folks an opportunity to try playing and running different TTRPGs, and meet new folks with the same nerdy interests.
We run all sorts of different RPGs at local game stores in Nottingham, and we also have a weekly board game social at the Dice Cup. We've run dozens of different systems, from big names like D&D, Vampire the Masquerade, Daggerheart, Shadowdark, Call of Cthulu, etc. to playtests of brand new games from local companies like Doomsong, and light-hearted goofy systems like Crash Pandas and One Honk Before Midnight.
I've made some great friends and played a ton of different systems through this group, and even met folks who I'm now playing a weekly home campaign with. We're an inclusive group and we have members of a range of different ages and genders with a big LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent contingent. No experience playing RPGs required, beginners are more than welcome.
After the original founder of the group is now taking a well-earned retirement from organising the group, we've created a shiny new discord server that we'll use it to sign up for games from November. Sign ups for next month's games will go up next Wednesday.
Drop a comment or a message and I'll send you the link to the server. If you have any questions, feel free to message me 😊

Hi guys, moved to the area in February so it’ll be our first Nottingham Christmas. Any recommendations of anywhere to take our 2 year old daughter to see Santa or any good Christmas light trails/festive activities in and around Nottingham? We’re based in Bakersfield.

Hey so looking at getting a home battery and may need a trench dug and some conduit laid for the cables to go from my outbuilding to the house. Does anyone know of a company i can contact who would be able to do this?

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a spare ticket for Jump Ship's Halloween All-Nighter at The Walrus on 31st October?
Managed to grab one just before they sold out, but unfortunately couldn't get another for my girlfriend.
Happy to pay a fair price through a secure ticket transfer. Please DM me if you've got one going spare. Would really appreciate it! 🙏

I've had this issue a few times now. I live in Beeston, moved here a few months ago. Did a lot of research and I love the area, it's close to places like Wollaton and Highfields. Aside from the absolutely atrocious littering issue, can people stop dumping their shit in my dustbin? I do not pay council tax for strangers to bin their UNBAGGED DOG SHIT, takeaway rubbish and raw chicken. Please, give a damn about your neighbours and grow up. You should be ashamed whoever you are.
Ive had to move my bins deeper in my property in order to avoid this issue, but even today after the bin men came and did their jobs and I was at work, someone threw their raw, opened chicken in there. If you're not happy with a purchase, rake it back to the shop and stop being damn lazy.
Clean up after yourselves folks, the earth has even shit in it already we can at least try and look after our environment and community where we can. Not to mention it's a great waste of an animals life to die just to end up untouched in my bin.
EDIT// since I've had such a great amount of comments I just wanted to clear some things up. Firstly, yes I would rather see rubbish in my bins than the street. However, people are not even using the bins correctly. The issue is that people will both litter in the streets as well as dump in other residents property, bins or otherwise. Ive had to put on gloves and sift through piles of take away cartons, raw meat, dog poop among other things, all unbagged and most carelessly tossed in the recycling because inconsiderate people feel that bringing the problem onto others is how you take accountability for your own rubbish.
I was taught and raised to keep my rubbish with me until I reach either a public bin or my own personal bins, of which I take great care in sorting my recyclables from waste. I can see a lot of people are missing the point here, because accountability is all I would wish for. Littering on the streets and binning toxic and frankly disgusting things that I then have to put time aside to correct are both inconsiderate behaviours and if everyone took their rubbish home neither would be an issue. I can already tell who in the comments would be the type to fly tip or blame others for their lack of accountability in keeping the environment clean.
I do appreciate the comments offering advice with the issue though! And I'm sorry for those who have suffered similar behaviour. This country would be a whole lot cleaner if we just respected the environment and each other a bit more.

Nottinghamshire County Council are proposing to cut school transport provision for SEND children post-16 and make parents pay, in an effort to save £400k a year.
SEND children are some of the most vulnerable in society, and anyone who knows even vaguely about the issue, knows that SEND school places are at a premium, and often miles away from where the children live. Parents don't choose to send their children to schools miles away, it's the only schools suitable for their kids to access education.
Let's remember that it's illegal to not be in education or full-time training until 18.
How many parents can afford £800 a year to send their kids to school, often when they've had to spend thousands to take the council to tribunal to simply get their kids in those schools to begin with.
This is disability discrimination against some of the most vulnerable in society.

The Arts & Crafts Cricket Pavilion, opened 1906. It stood on the New Meadows Recreation Ground within The Meadows area of Nottingham, and incorporated more than one football pitch. Some speculate that it was allowed to rot into disrepair until its demolition in 2025. The "Arts & Crafts" part of its title refers to the beautiful style of architecture it featured in its younger days.
Note: I didn't take this photo from Google, they took it from me, and I'm happy with that.
