Recommendations on spots for a small professional networking/discussion group?
I have a small professional networking/discussion group I'm involved with and we're looking for some good places to meet in central San Diego.
Does anyone have recommendations?
We’ve tried different bars and restaurants. Bars can be loud, our people aren’t big drinkers, and it's basically not our scene.
Restaurants can work, but a full sit-down meal is sometimes more than we need. We're more of a 'light bite' crowd.
Coffeeshops or places with mellow patios are ideal. We tend to get into thoughtful, sometimes personal discussions, so somewhere we can comfortably hear each other without a whole room hearing us is nice. It just seems that most coffeeshops close at 2pm these days.
Parks or other community spaces could also work. It’s nice to have food and drinks available for anyone who wants something, but we recognize that we're not exactly an ideal clientele for businesses that want to turn over tables and make money. We'd like to have tables and clean bathrooms available though.
In the past we've tended to mostly meet in central San Diego but we have some North County members so we're looking to head up that way more on occasion. We just don't know many spots up there!
We usually meet in the late afternoon/early evening, around 4–6 or 5–7 p.m. but sometimes later too.
Any favorite spots or places where you’ve hosted something similar? Would love some ideas!
Thanks!
