The cheapest option I can find is in Branford for $300 a month. There’s The District in New Haven, but that’s $400 a month. I can’t seem to find any other options in the area that post their pricing online transparently.

Any recommendations that are less than $300 a month? I don’t even need to go every day… just want a place where I can go 2-3 days a week.

In the past 3 years, New Haven has had to settle police misconduct lawsuits to the tune of $106 million. And that's only including the big 4 settled cases. New Haven is currently appealing the wrongful conviction settlement of Stefan Morant who was awarded $38 million earlier this year. It could potentially be $144 million in just three years, nearly $100 million of which city insurance will not cover. And this doesn't include legal fees or small case payouts.

And I'm not saying these victims don't deserve their settlements. I'm saying the NHPD is both crippling people in their custody while simultaneously crippling the city's finances

planning to relinquish possession of my apartment in a few months, and my landlord is saying i'll have to continue paying rent until they find a new tenant and a $500 reletting fee, plus i'll also have to forfeit my security deposit. is this legal?

edit: my lease agreement is totally different from what they're saying now. the lease says i can pay a lease buyout fee + $500 reletting fee + rent until they find a new tenant, but i would get my security deposit.

i asked them about this option but apparently they're not offering it now (they claim it's if you want to reduce the notice period from 90 days to 60, which is not what the lease says). instead my main option relinquish possession -> pay rent until new tenant -> pay $500 reletting fee -> forfeit security deposit

Should I move to New Haven? I live and work in Hartford now but wouldn’t be opposed to just taking the train up here 3x a week. Have enjoyed nights out in New Haven and the LGBTQ+ scene, whereas that doesn’t seem to exist in Hartford. Not sure how cost of living differs, but welcome any thoughts <3

Hi guys, the Ralph Walker ice rink just opened in East Rock and I saw that they were offering skate sharpening. I was wondering if anyone has sharpened figure skates there and if they were good. It seems more hockey oriented and I don’t want my toe picks to get messed up!
