Had a perfect week in New England
Might have been a bit much for 7 days but wow. First - so dog friendly and I love that. The vibe is so laid back. The views are incredible. Very hard to come back to central Ohio ðŸ˜

Fall Foliage Hiking/Filming this Friday?
Hey everyone!
25M here, living in Boston! I’m planning to go hiking somewhere in MA or CT this Friday (10/23) to catch some of the remaining fall foliage.
I’m hoping to leave Boston pretty early and get there before sunrise. I’ll also be bringing my drone and camera to capture some cool scenery along the way.
Would anyone be interested in joining? I’m still figuring out the exact location, so I’m open to suggestions too!

The Bunker Hill Monument's granite came down Gridley Bryant's Quincy railway
The granite in the Bunker Hill Monument came out of Quincy on a railway Gridley Bryant built in 1826. He'd bought the quarry in 1825 for $250, and his partners were skeptical, but three horse-drawn cars of his design started running on 7 October 1826.
He's credited with the rail switch and the turntable, never patented either, and died poor in 1867. In 1830 he added the Incline, 315 ft long, pulling cars 84 ft up out of Pine Ledge Quarry, and it kept running until the 1940s.
The old quarry pits are the sharp-edged cuts along the bottom of the lidar picture.

Never Gets Old
Born in Mass but as a toddler, moved to a part of the country where there are barely any trees - never mind fall colors- and after nearly 30 years surrounded by cacti and palm trees, I returned to New England in the early 2000s. That first fall blew my mind - I'd never seen anything like it (in person) and found myself misty-eyed more than once. I've been here 20+ years now and still feel that same sense of awe when the leaves change. What a privilege to be surrounded by such beauty.

Finding stuff from our grocery stores
Found these items at the thrift store in Newington. Apparently these aren't too old but reminds me of the time I went to these stores growing up back in the 2000s.
