Success Story I started making my own fidget toys and it worked!
I've been biting and picking my cuticles and nails all my life and being shamed for it made it worse. Fidget toys didn't work well for me because I couldn't find any that were "right" texture wise and all. Few months ago I took up whittling. Started with a few carving projects but without realising I started making fidget toys that worked for me.
I now have one in my pocket, in my bag, in my desk, everywhere.
It's so weird, seeing my hands for the first time without them being bloody, swollen, or painful for the first time in my 40 years.
It feels like I'm wearing somebody else's fingertips.
I am so happy for having normal ones now.
