Bike Picture/NBD 1 month with first full - Stumpjumper 15
Been riding a 2000 Cannondale 26" hardtail all my life, was in the market for a new hardtail when this too good of a deal came up. So much learning with full suspension, and I am having a blast. More regular on the trails and trying so many things. I did a lot of motorcycle trackdays in younger years and I feel excited again in an older body. Reddit community has been so helpful on getting me going. Paid like $2150 for the SLX build at bike shop 300 miles away.

Question Experienced bikers, what’s something you wish you knew as a beginner?
About gear, technique, maintenance, bikes, trails, when to call it quits for a while and when to keep going.
I’m new with an “analog mtb” and so excited to get on the trails.

Question Spinal Tap - UT
My husband and I are going to ride Pahvant Trail system this weekend in Utah. He wants to do the full Spinal Tap downhill via shuttle. However he's an advanced rider and I'm not convinced I have the skills for the lower spinal tap section which I consistently see described as advanced / black. Can anyone clarify if there is a bail out point after middle spinal tap, and what would be the alternative downhill trail?

Question Fast tires gravel xc
My new focus raven just got oraguard 270 for the whole frame, now it's time for tires, the bike drives mainly on asphalt and gravel, the basic tires are terribly heavy. I was thinking about Thunder burt 2.25 in the ground version but they are not available, I can only buy race versions. Or maybe schwalbe rick xc pro? Has anyone tested these models?

Question Fox float x performance aeration issue
I have a fox float x performance on a 24 fuel ex 8 gen 6 xt, it rides fine however when the bike is rested, I have to compress it a few times for it to not make a weird squelch sound, I believe this is called aeration and is very common on the fox rear shocks across the line due to the seal not being the best, however, I have had this problem for a few months now and is it worth going to get it serviced asap because to me, the shock rides perfectly fine and I’m not a fan of paying 140 pounds for a service tbh

Question Questions on selling
Hey yall. Im wanting to sell my 2020 Specialized Aluminum Stumpy and am trying to figure out what a fair price would be. I covered it in stickers, I figure Im going to have to remove them before selling. I replaced the rear wheel with a carbon one and has PNW bars. If any that really matters. Its got a few hundred miles on it and has been kept up on maintenance for the entire time Ive owned it. Original owner. I plan on move back to a city and will no longer need such bike. I figure it won’t sell till the season starts in 2027. Whats an honest asking price?

Other 1st time back out after hamstring tear in June.
galleryInjured June 19th, back on the trails again finally, and man, I'm outa shape. I have a commuter I ride occasionally 3-5 miles, but FL summers are brutal and between healing, and the 🥵 I've been outa commission for a spell. My mind thinks I'm in my 20s again, and my body says you're 61...
Rode 13 miles a couple of days back and another 8 this morning during a light rain.
This is the West loop trail at Doris Leeper Park, in New Smyrna, out by the lake ( aka pond).

Question Specialized Status 2 for a beginner?
Specialized STATUS 2 for a beginner?
Looking into the Specialized Status 2 140 for my girlfriend. It has great reviews on the Specialized website and some other places but I just want some more opinions. I recently got into riding myself and bought a Santa Cruz Chameleon, my girlfriend rode it around and enjoys it so she wants to go trail riding with me. She wants a smoother ride than the HT so we're looking into full suspension. I'm very new to the sport but this seems like a killer beginners bike that she can continue to use as we get better at riding. We will mostly be trail riding and hitting parks occasionally. If anyone has any alternative suggestions that would be better in the USD $1500 to $1700 range please let me know as well, if not then I think we're going to pick this up soon!

Question Looking at used bikes, I see a Trek Marlin 27.5. Would this fit someone who is 5’11”?
I want to buy a used bike but most I’m finding are saying 26” or 27.5”. In 5’11” and wondering what size is good. Google AI says this is generally too small for my height? Wondering if that’s correct?

Bike Picture/NBD NBD - RMU Nighttrain
Absolutely loving this bike.
There's a few thing that could better like the routing and the caliper clearance (the v4 caliper do not clear the frame). But overall, this bike is everything i want out of a bike.
Feel free to ask any question ill be happy to answer.

Bike Picture/NBD Autumn means fender time
galleryIs it maturing or what? For years I’ve been ditching the fenders “like a real man” but goggles and mouth packed with mud finally took me here. Well, at least it doesn’t look too awful right?
