On the Waveform podcast, I've noticed that the team makes several comments about the price of the iPhone duo that are akin to, "It's $2,000... how many people are gonna pay for that?" These comments always frustrate me because they neglect consumer habits.

A substantial number of people use trade-in credits with their carrier and tie that to a monthly installment plan. If you trade in an iPhone 15 Pro Max, you get $1,200 in credits, and it reduces the iPhone Duo to around $22 a month. Heck, even if you don't trade in a phone, it's $55. That price is enough for people to convince themselves that it's worth it. I'm not endorsing that as sound financial advice. I'm just saying people can more than rationalize that price point away. It's like car purchases! All that matters to most people is "what is the monthly payment?" If you can stretch it out long enough and make the monthly bill lower, you're golden! Even better, almost all the phone installment plans are interest-free.

I just wish they would acknowledge more that a majority of people aren't paying upfront $2,000 + tax at the Apple Store to get these devices, the same way people aren't dropping $40,000 at a dealership to buy a new car.

So somehow they accusing Marques of being "political" even though he paid a deposit 9 years ago and still didn't get the car, they just saw a demo and expect the car to come out as Elon said pretend like the same thing might not repeat again.

Youtube (with a premium subscription) has been randomly cutting audio out, much more frequently now!

It happens on 10+ Mins videos..
It has happened on my iPad and my iPhone.

I am not sure if this is an iOS problem or a Youtube problem. My listening device has been mainly my airpods pro 2.

But it is getting frustrating! I had it cut out on my Waveform podcast this week.

I prefer AccuWeather, but I don't like their app. It just feels a bit cluttered. Apple Weather looks pretty, but I've found it to be kind of inaccurate. And then I stumbled upon Yahoo Weather. The app and website looks much cleaner than AccuWeather, but it uses AW's data. So, it's pretty much been my go-to weather app for the past 2 months. I was just wondering if Marques has tried it before since he cares about what weather app he uses so much.

Just when Apple launched 1 foldable. Samsung is rumored to release 6 in the next year.

To be clear, I appreciate their pushback against generative AI and similar technologies. However, I'm curious if they've adopted any other recent AI advances in their pipe-lines. If anyone remembers, Tesla ran some referral program when they launched cars initially and promised to reduce the price of the upcoming Roadstar (planned to launch in 2020) by some percentage for each referral. Marques had so many referrals it amounted to 100 percent. Any update on that?

Recent updates seem like an obvious step towards Google just treating YouTube as a source of data even more and scraping the hell out of everything.

There’s parallels to when this happened to websites , and many like the verge are now just paid

So I wonder if YouTube continues down this path would these channels eventually end up moving to something like nebula? In case someone from the team sees this is that something that has ever come up

Hey all, built a side project and would love feedback.

I got tired of searching for product reviews and getting AI slop and sponsored "best of" lists. I wanted answers from people I actually trust, so I built a chatbot that answers tech questions using only what real reviewers have said, with links to the exact moment in the video.

Right now it only uses MKBHD. I started with him because his reviews are thorough and he's someone a lot of people already trust. The plan is to expand to a handful of trusted reviewers per category (cameras, wearables, audio, etc) so you can see where they agree and where they don't.

Would love to know: what did it get wrong, and which reviewers should I add next?
