PSA: It appears that Reddit policy is being updated with regards to transactions. Please read.
Hi everyone, wanted to make a quick announcement regarding Reddit rules. It seems like there is going to be a policy change coming in the next few days affecting user-to-user transactions of firearm-related things. As you probably all know, firearm sales between users is already strictly prohibited by Reddit TOS. It seems that the mods over at r/RetroARMarket have received a notification of the incoming change as well as the fact that the subreddit is going to be banned entirely. r/GunAccessoriesForSale also looks to be on the chopping block.
The change to policy will now include prohibiting the sale of ANY firearm parts on Reddit. Some specific examples they give are bolts, magazines, scopes, and triggers. Obviously this is probably going to include everything though, such as stocks, bayonets, etc.
Since we’ve had the sub back (stay mad u/richalex2010), we’ve done a good job of keeping this sub from becoming a marketplace for milsurp items and trying to redirect any posts about selling non-firearm Milsurp stuff to the appropriate subs. In order to make sure we don’t get banned, going forward, any and all posts or comments that appear to be facilitating the sale of any firearm parts between users will be prohibited. Antiques are not excluded from this (we all know Reddit admins won’t know the difference).
We don’t really think this will affect much on the sub since, as previously mentioned, we’ve done pretty good at keeping this from becoming a marketplace. But just wanted to pin this as a PSA and ask everyone to keep it in mind going forward. If you do see any comments or posts in the future that violate the rule, please report them.
Thanks everyone!

BUYER BEWARE: Shill Bidding and Faked Guns
Putting this up as a PSA.
There is currently a user on GunBroker by the name of 'ivysunlee' selling various hard to find Chinese Firearms and Accessories as well as a NK SKS.
While watching some of the items last night there were 4 items that sold in 'No Reserve' Auctions that were immediately relisted withing moments of the auctions ending.
Upon further inspection it was found that on all 4 items the same bidder placed bids just as the 15 minute clock was starting knocking the existing bidder out of the running. The bidder was 'jmclcc' and their last feedback was from 2021.
Its should also be noted that the seller is posting fake items with crazy descriptions trying to pass then off as real. These include a "Chinese" M1917 "Sniper" with a commercial scope and mounts made in Texas in the 1950's, and a Chinese Type 17 45 ACP Broomehandle which bears a stamp with the incorrect number of points.
Be wary if bidding on items from this seller.

Gun show pick up
Terrible gunshow in upstate ny today. Out of the entire show there were only a handful of interesting pieces with most people selling cheap gear, knives, and overpriced food.
I did find this thing and after a little haggling it left with me.
From my understanding the prewar examples have nice finishes and wartime grew worse and worse until it’s basically hastily done phosphate. Initially I thought it must be refinished but based on the marking quality I think this was some sort of factory variation. Anyone more knowledgeable than me on these want to prove
Me wrong/right?
Serial range puts it at 1944 production if I’m not mistaken.

K31 or M44?
I've been doing gun content and videos latelty. I've been enjoying it a ton, and it's gotten me back into milsurps and the like. Digging around in my safe for my next 2 videos, I pulled out my Swiss K31 and my M44 Mosin. Which should I do first? This M44 is absolutely beat to hell, but it sure does make a cool fireball! If anyone is interested in seeing some videos, you can find me at Lambvinskis Armory on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. I'd love some honest feedback.

1940 Nagant
What's a good price on something like this? It's 1940, no import marks that I can see. Some wear and pitting but it feels right and everything seems to move how it should.

3 neat pistols
My shaved 1918 Webley Mk6, 1941 Nagant Revolver, and I don't remember the year of the Astra 400, but I believe it was made in the 40s. I'll have to check. If these old beauty's could talk, I'm sure the stories would be amazing.

Picture from Google as an example/Attention Grabber
I'm looking for advice on places to find trench art for an M70. It seems that every obvious outlet for these kits have all dried up. Thank you in advance for any and all help!

Screwed up - is my bolt toast?
Hello,
I was working on cleaning parts of an old Chinese Mauser I inherited that was quite rusty. As part of this, I was boiling the parts to loosen up the rust and clean it deeper. I was working on something else in the garage and let the pot run out of water, leading to the bolt sitting in a hot pot for maybe 30-45 minutes with no water while still absorbing heat.
The bolt already had quite a bit of black, but some very small parts (I’ve tried to picture) have gotten a hot blue tinge to them. These are by the bolt and some smaller scattered, small instances elsewhere.
Is the tempering of the steel ruined at this point? I’m taking the rifle to a gunsmith anyway to have the other parts checked out to determine if it’s safe to shoot, but I wanted to see if I destroyed the bolt and should just seek a replacement at this point (if I can find anything that’ll work with a Chinese Mauser…).
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Swedish M94 Kammarkarbin (M94 conversion)
Here's a rare one: one of 200 M94 carbines produced in 1898 with a faster than normal twist rate in the rifling for use with lower-power rounds for indoor shooting ranges. These rifles were put in black-dyed stocks and had a K prefix on the serial number to make them clearly identifiable.
This particular example, as is apparently common, was converted back to standard M94 carbine by the Swedish military. The barrel and stock are standard M94 parts and the K prefix has been marked out (but is still faintly visible) but all parts, including stock and barrel, are fully matching. Interestingly the stock disc indicates that the rifle continued on with the "kammarvapen" ("gallery shooting") designation for a Swedish Air Force unit so its role remained the same, just with standard ammunition.

Greek 8mm oddities
Recently bought two cases of Greek 7.92 from rti and I thought I post some oddities I found looking for corroded cases.
The first and weirdest one was a mystery 6.5mm round in the last box I had. I saw the Greek lettering and thought "nice a second one" before being shocked by the long bullets when I turned it around. I don't actually know what 6.5mm it is, just the bullet diameter.
I also found an 8mm round with a wierd impression in the case, and a couple boxes that contained both 1939 and 1940 headstamps, and observed 3 different variations of 1938 headstamp.
