General Discussion What happened to elephants in Tarkir?

Khans of Tarkir had elephants (both animals and loxodon), rhinos, and tusked beasts.

Traveling back in time, we could see in Fate Reforged both (animal) elephants and krushok, rhino-like horned beasts. However, loxodons were completely absent in the set (also from the art). Why weren't there any loxodon? How did they arrive to KTK? Did KTK's loxodons evolve from FRF's elephants?

And, back to the present alternative timeline, in Dragons of Tarkir, there were no elephants of any kind to be found, and only a few horned /turked beasts remained. I remember reading on the stories back on release that dragons had hunted to extinction the majority of large animals, and the ones remaining had evolved protective adaptations. Did that mean that all elephants went extinct, and thus, loxodon evolution did never happen?

(Hamza I assume is based in the KTK timeline because of the Abzan-like armor)

But then, Dragonstorm came and Tarkir is again full of loxodon, but no wild elephants. Did they just come through the omenpaths in force and joined the clans? I don't see many other outsiders living in Tarkir...

What is the true lore behind Tarkir's elephants extinction and rebirth?

Deck Discussion How to make my tap/untap deck less glass cannon?

Post image

I've been working on this deck for 4 years now, and I really love it, but I just can't seem to make it reliable enough to commit to buying.

The plan started as a challenge deck, to try and tap [[Saint Traft and Rem Karolus]] 3 times each turn to make all 3 tokens. It ended up making a decent, fun, and unique deck which aims to abuse tapping and untapping my own permanents to create tonnes of tokens and use them to win. When it gets going, it can actually be pretty gnarly. Some convoke cards are in the deck as they sinergise, but it isn't built around the mechanic.

What stops me buying the deck is if the commander gets removed, the deck doesn't work too well, as it struggles to make tokens. The deck is already stretched into many avenues so its hard to find room to add more ways to make tokens. Does anyone have any ideas to help improve the resilience of the deck?

Every time I make a cube, I'm always curious about this particular card and how it might affect draft. I'm wondering if folks who have used it or played against it have any stories.
