Trying to download the latest MacOS 27.2 Release Candidate update and it constantly freezes at 4.14GB. Rebooted and tried again and now it freezes at 4.17GB. I have 100GB of free space on my drive, my network connection is fibre and super fast...so what gives? Anyone else having issues?

I had the same issue with the Beta 3 update which proceeded this. I would set the Mac to stay active with Amphetamine and hours would go by and no joy. I waited a week after the release and it finally worked. This is getting super irritating at this point though.

I am on a MBA M3, 256GB SSD, 16GB RAM, running Golden Gate 27.2 (26B5112a) Beta 4 presently.

Decided to just download the RC (26B118b) directly and apply it myself, but that does a full system install instead of just an upgrade. WTF Apple 🍎🍏?!?!

I’ve been testing macOS 27.2 RC, build 26B118, against the handful of Finder/Spaces regressions I’ve been following since 27.0. Here’s where things stand:

• FB24746120 — Finder scrolling while holding/dragging a file: still fixed. You can once again grab a file and scroll the Finder window underneath it while continuing to hold the drag. However, there’s now a weird visual bug where the thin blue focus border that normally hugs the inside edge of the Finder window can detach and scroll with the content, leaving a blue horizontal line partway through the file list.
• FB24754909 — Cross-Space drag-and-drop via the Dock: still broken. Dragging something like a Mail attachment onto the Finder icon in the Dock still does not let you move into a Finder window in another Space and continue the drag. The workaround of putting Mission Control in the Dock, dragging the item there, and then selecting the destination Space/window still works.
• FB24948547 — Apps forgetting assigned Spaces after reboot: still checking this one on the RC.
• FB24881254 — Copy/paste from another app into Finder: still broken. Copying a Mail attachment and pasting into Finder still creates an empty .textClipping instead of the actual file.
• FB24730452 — .ics/Calendar across Spaces: this looks substantially improved and I may consider it fixed. Opening an .ics file now brings up the small Calendar import dialog asking which calendar you want to add it to, even when Calendar is in another Space. It does not necessarily switch fully into Calendar, but the original problem, where it looked like nothing happened because the dialog was hidden in another Space, appears resolved.

So overall, the RC is better than 27.0, but the cross-application Finder issues are still the biggest remaining problem for me.

Hi, I was able to get the option on macOS 27.0 beta, but when I was on 27.0.1, the option wasn't there. I installed manually the beta 4 of 27.2 via pkg, but I'm trying to find a solution that the beta option is not appearing. Any ideas or solution?

I've made a simple SwiftUI fix for genuinely one of the most annoying bugs in recent memory. That being the inability to move windows of some apps after opening.

Ever since the beta, I noticed Safari (running the same websites) is running my macbook (m4) significantly hotter. When I switched to chrome, the temperature went back to normal. Anybody else getting this?

Upgraded to M5 Mac Mini (24GB Ram) in order to take advantage of Advanced Dictation, but it doesn't seem to be much of an improvement over the standard dictation. Made sure that Siri is on and I selected the specific English language model. It actually seems to be slower, and was hoping to use it as I prefer the continuous dictation streaming that Apple dictation offers. Have tried several other dictation applications, but all of them I tried are using a separate window and then paste into the application, not as easy or as elegant as Apple's implementation. Any thoughts on how to improve this or just wait until software gets updated?

Typically I'm scrolling around with a mouse and I have a second monitor. I have already submitted a bug report, but I can't seem to replicate it. Hotcorners is turned off and I tried scrolling around with my mouse to see if I can replicate it but can't. It seems to happen randomly, when I'm on safari or playing RuneScape or using claude.

Anyone else experience this?

Edit, I did just update to OS 27.2 beta 3 and it hasn't done it anymore.

What are we thinking? First the traffic lights, and now certain dialog boxes, have this effect when clicked & dragged.

I don't mind the traffic lights being 'bouncy' but this is slightly different.

In 27.0 you can move the trash warning box around the screen like any other window, in 27.2 b4 it stays pinned to the centre of the screen and does this if you try to move it.

Is there a fix? my computer overheats and it has healthy battery life, good battery status and I have good amount of storage. It has never done this since I updated it last week.

Notice where the window ends up landing when the cursor crosses from screen to screen. It doesn't stay put under the cursor.

But it definitely affects some windows, including "About This Mac" window.
