Personal project. Looking to improve the logo of Bay Metro, the transit provider for Bay City, MI.
I thought Bay Metro's logo felt pretty dated and quite off balance too. I wanted to modernize it by making it "simpler" in the same vain as other iconic transit logos like the Washington Metro, MTA, or CTA.
I also sought to preserve some of the elements from the original logo, like the color scheme and the layout.
Any feedback? This is basically my first time designing a logo, so you may assume I know nothing about graphic design. I kind of just threw together what I thought looked good.

I’m designing this personal logo for a friend. I can’t decide on which version to go with. Would love some insight on which one has better balance. I really love the logo mark of the hand and insulin pen and really want to make it. Any other critque is welcome👍
Short Design Brief:
This is a personal brand for my friend. They are diabetic and do a lot of work with the diabetes community with advocacy and education. They want to be seen as bold, unapologetic and empowering.

I’ve been exploring ways to give flat logos more depth without changing their original design. One interesting option is turning a 2D logo into a rotating 3D animation and experimenting with different materials and finishes.
I found a tool called 3D Logo Spin that lets you transform a 2D logo into a 3D animation and export it as a PNG, GIF, or MP4.
I’m curious what designers here think: do 3D logo animations add value to a brand identity, or do you prefer keeping logos flat and minimal?
You can check it out at 3dlogospin.com if you’re interested.

A few days ago, I posted a 4 minutes version of this video here. I received your feedback with humility, and it's true that it was too much. Here is a (really) short version of the video of the birth of a logo! I hope you guys like it!

Hello,
As I released v1.4 of my app with its new logo, this sub reddit popped up in my feed and I thought it is worth sharing with you. I am not a graphic designer by any mean, so this not to upset anyone.

My goal was to create a distinctive visual identity that reflects the architectural nature of the window industry.
I combined the letter “I” with a window inspired form, using geometric shapes, symmetry, and thoughtful negative space to create a unique symbol. I wanted the design to feel simple, strong, and recognizable while maintaining a modern and professional appearance.
What do you think of this concept?

My cat recently underwent surgery and a few other procedures. While I was waiting for him, I noticed that the clinic’s logo was just text—"Clinical Diagnostic Office for Pets" (I hope I’ve translated that correctly). So, in my spare time, I decided to come up with my own version. The parrot gave me the most trouble—I tried using a rabbit and a guinea pig for that spot, but I just couldn't get them to fit the shape. What do you think of the result?

This is my "Final" version, with updated font and a quick texture pass version. I DID experiment with "bulging out" the diamond shape that makes up the spires, but I loved the "disappearing" aspect of the straight angles.
Small version is almost entirely visually weighted.
I'm making this for short-form content, so it will probably be displayed in a lot of colors.
Last image was my first draft.
-
The original prompt - This is for a music project I'm starting - electronic music with some cyberpunk / synthwave elements, existential contemplation of the far future, and finding the energy in the liminal. The "spires" in this design evoke the Double-Split experiment, in which laser light is broken down into standing waves; it also evokes sound waves; most importantly, it evokes classic space/time rifts seen in sci fi movies.
My challenge to myself was to make a vertically imposing logo in a 2:1 ratio. I did not confine the design to normal constraints we consider for print, as this will be almost entirely a digital brand. It is to fill a phone screen on Tiktok/Youtube when incorporated into short-form video. There is a spectrum between stylization and readability, especially with music branding; this logo is not intended to be "corporate" but characterful.
There was also a challenge here in balancing a 4-letter word against a 5-letter word. There is no winning that battle, but I'm pretty happy with these results!
My concern was how a 1:50 slope would show up on screens. Vertical aliasing risks activating only one of the three colors on an LED screen, which can lead to unintended colors at the edge of the shapes. The only effects I've found with this shape I've found was that, on subtle movement across some screens, the lengths of the spires seem to oscillate. I like this effect, so I left it as is. It's also make me contemplate making logos / graphics with static animation effects like this on purpose down the road. You may or may not be able to replicate this effect on your screen.
Font is "Space Age" by Justin Callaghan, modified.
Hopefully this can serve as a reference - or cautionary tale lol - for any nascent designers thinking of sharp angles and non-conventional proportions
