I posted a similar issue before on LOS 23.2 : Unwanted apps icon on Home Screen after update, and over the weekend there was a major upgrade to LOS 24.0. I have since upgraded my device and hoped it would fix the issue, however the problem persists.

There are random 3 app icons on my Home screen, all which I have installed but never put in my Home screen. "Random", because out of all apps I have on my phone, only these 3 appeared (including Settings). Here what it looks like : https://i.imgur.com/PNuTTVf.png

My Home screen had always been free from app icons, and I would like to keep it that way. What I have tried :

1. Long pressing has no option to remove the icons.
2. There is a "🚫" icon, when I pressed it, it says "Item Removed". But the icons are still there, not removed.
3. Tried to drag the icons to remove, but there's no option to remove, only "Cancel".
4. In the Suggestion app settings, I already set my Suggestions on Home screen as off.

I couldn't find where / how to remove it. Any suggestions ?

Upgraded LineageOS from 23.2 to 24 on my Samsung Tab A7 today. The battery drain is fast.

Going to wipe my cache and let the battery drain to zero before the next charge. If it doesn't improve, I'll need to roll back to 23.2.

I just tried to buy the subscription/one-time payment for an app, but the options wouldn't even load. "Unable to fetch prices. Please check internt and tap to retry."

What is the problem here? Is it that Google Play Store isn't installed?

If so, can there be a workaround. Still very new, just wondering how to keep degoogle'd but still have this ability.

I was considering getting a Pixel tablet, but saw LineageOS runs on Galaxy Tab S7 (which is much cheaper) so I'm wondering how well does Lineage run on tablets and which is more stable the Tab S7 or 7+ ? thanks

Anybody else facing issue where battery just shows XY℅ when u open phone and will not go down no matter how much you use. The battery show correct percentage only when one either turns screen off and then on or put it in charging.

I am facing this issue after installing lineage 24. Today's update also didn't fix it.

Following instructions to the letter and have even had to compile Samloader in 32 bit but getting an error trying to flash the new firmaware. Appears my PC does not understand the flash command. Somethings missing but cant understand what it is going around in circles now. Write back like your talking to an idiot as not an experienced developer. PC Win 10 32 bit

Thanks, LineageOS developers and contributors for providing LineageOS 24 (Android 17) for Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (X00TD) after LineageOS 20 (Android 13) was discontinued (I used LOS20 until then).

Noted Issues in LineageOS 24: On LOS24 I’m seeing higher battery drain and occasional heating (not present on LOS20).

UPI/Banking apps: The UPI/banking apps no longer work like before; is there any way to make them work without rooting? I tried the ih8sn method, but it didn’t work.

Bootloader relock: On LOS20 (lineage-20.0-20241228-nightly-X00TD-signed.zip) I could relock successfully using a Windows relock script, but on LOS24 (lineage-24.0-20261017-nightly-X00TD-signed.zip) the same script causes “RED STATE” with “Your device is corrupt. It can’t be trusted and will not boot.” and “Device will shutdown in 30 seconds,” and I must unlock again to boot. Why does relock work on LOS20 but fail on LOS24, and is there a safe way to relock LOS24 like LOS20?

I've been attempting to use the most recent images of LineageOS for my pixel 7 pro. Everything goes well till I reach lineage recovery. My pc cannot find the phone in recovery. No ABD devices. Its visible in fastboot, but not recovery. I tried another recovery, and the device was visible, but it flashed incorrectly.

I also tried an older image of LineageOS and had the same effect. I updated my drivers on pc using Googles desktop app, still nothing.

I ended up going back to android for now. I am following the steps of the guide very closely, so I'm not sure what's happening. Does anyone know whats happening here? Is there known problems or fixes?

I mistakenly followed instructions from the wiki as if doing a first time install and flashed boot, vbmeta, and vendor_boot and rebooted to bootloader.

I realized and ended to attempt restarting to just use:

adb -d reboot sideload
adb -d reboot sideload

Now my device is stuck in a loop of vibrating, display turns on and says:

Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot.

Your device will power off in 5 seconds.

I cannot get into any menus, and it is not detected by my PC when plugged in to USB.

Have I just broken it completely?

I tried to run banking apps several times on lineage 24 and all methods not working despite same modules were working before on stock rom

may be the rom is the reason?!

I’ve just upgraded my Redmi Note 8T (ginkgo, variant 2) from LineageOS 23.2 (Android 16) to the latest LineageOS 24 (Android 17), and I wanted to share my experience.

As before, I’m using Google services via MindTheGapps, so I also had to update to the Android 17-compatible version of MindTheGapps before the first boot.

It’s only been about an hour since the upgrade, but so far, everything seems to be working great!

• No factory reset was needed.
• All my data and apps were preserved.
• Google services are working normally.
• My authenticator apps and banking apps are working just as they did before the upgrade.
• The entire installation process went smoothly, with no errors or issues.

Of course, it’s still too early to say if everything will remain stable in the long run, but the initial experience has been excellent.

A huge thank you to the entire LineageOS team and the maintainers of the Redmi Note 8T for their hard work in keeping this device alive and up to date. It’s greatly appreciated!

i'm fed up with this shitty hyperOS which is slow af. i want to install custom rom and referably lineageOS or oxygenOS . can anyone help ??

I am NOT asking for a way to hide root or get strong integrity. My phone is unrooted with LineageOS 24 installed, and MindTheGapps.

I went from no play integrity labels to basic integrity overnight basically, and I want to see if anyone else has similar experiences.

Hi everyone! Is there anyone here who uses the OnePlus Nord 5 Global and has switched back to OxygenOS from LineageOS? Is it even possible to do so? I tried it myself once, but—not knowing any better—I flashed the `abl`, `xbl`, `tz`, and other partitions, which ended up bricking the device. I had to take the phone to an official service center, where they had to recover it from EDL mode using an Oppo Auth Token—at my own expense.

After the LineageOS 23.2 update is downloaded my phone force boots to recovery mode. And Im supposed to install the update from recovery mode, but I can't find where. Please help? https://imgur.com/a/SgBzCMa

First of all, kudo to devs.

I have zenfone Max M1 Pro. While I tried to update to 24 from 21 (or whatever previous version was), followed update instruction, and it failed to boot. It went to recovery, stated "set_policy_failed:/data/bootchat".
After factory data reset, all went well. This got me hesitate to update my main phone, which is zenfone 8 with 23.2.

I've setup more than 4 profiles on my zenfone 8, more than default. I don't have a good idea how to backup/restore all profiles, and I've using it since March 2023, upgraded along the way. It feels like a hassle.

Update: Updating to 24 went well.

I know this topic has come up many times, but since I do a lot of work on my phone, I find it frustrating. It's always the same issue with apps closing in the background. I switch between different apps a lot, and having to wait for them to reopen every single time is really annoying. I’ve already checked the battery optimization settings and the permissions for running in the background. Is there a place where I can submit a feature request to the Lineage developers—like locking apps in the “recent apps” list, for example?
