I hate to say it, but 2016 wasn't completely all that.
I've always thought that 2016 was pretty much the start of the polarized world we're in today. Sure, 2016-2019 was better than now, but it's wrong to act like the world in general was "a lot better" back then and it was actually very rough for a lot of adults. Trump was elected that year, Brexit was there that year, the death of Harambe, and political polarization started to really peak that year and this year was the catalyst for what we're in today. I get it, being a kid in 2016 was better than being an adult, but it really surprises me how people of my generation seem to have massive nostalgia for 2016, and I'm not one of them. 2016 felt even worse than the rest of the late 2010s to me. So, 2016 was the start of the end, and 2020 with COVID is when it became noticeable.
Most people like this (and who also use annoying emojis like this) were probably kids back in 2016. They were browsing through their computers and phones, playing on the Xbox One/PS4, and they didn't hear much about the bad stuff. In the late 2010s, people ironically bashed on 2016 as one of the worst years in modern history. Having nostalgia is fine but you shouldn't act like 2016 is "much better" and ignore the bad stuff. Obvious example of rose-tinted glasses. 2016 was better to some extent than today, but not "a lot better".

Is there a reason why some older people are having a beef with the younger generation on social media?
Did the younger generation do something bad to piss the old folks off to the point that some of them revolve their entire personality around hating the younger generation?

What sucks about being a kid growing up in certain decades...
I know this forum is meant to mock people who think they're born in the wrong generation and nostalgia blinded, but what sucks about being a kid growing up in certain decades means that kid might love that decade because they're kids with underdeveloped brains who don't know any better and think everything is great and they don't care about tragedies while people who are older than them mostly hate the decade these kids are growing up in, especially if it's a decade that's horrible.

In 20 years time: Man I wish I could go back to the beginning of the 2020s where everything was simple and I was a kid with no responsibilities and worries
Am I the only one who thinks that being a kid isn't all that special? I feel like for me, there are some things that I think I never got to experience as a kid that others did which is why I feel this way since as an adult, I've become more conscious of what I want to do, but maybe it's just because reading comments like this makes me stupid since it's making me wish I was negative number years old. This comment was also written on a song about addiction and drugs like wtf?

What are your thoughts on people claiming they were lucky to be born at such a time like it's an achievement?
I personally just find it kinda dumb as an avid listener of 90s and 2000s music despite never having lived or listened to music during the times as I was just a baby in the 2000s. I never understood this mentality of acting like they were lucky to be born at such a time that makes others unlucky like they're special as they can still listen to that music today. I'm grateful to listen to music of any era and with streaming and Youtube which I usually use, it's a lot easier now than it was in the 90s, that's why I'm glad to be born at such a time where it's easier to listen to music than before.

Still hanging onto She Hulk and the Ghostbusters remake in the big 26 huh?
And why do these videos always rely on popular Western properties and not look outside of it? I mean there's more media outside of that. Why does it always have to be what's mainstream or trendy?
