it's been a minute, how is everyone.
we've reopened the subreddit mostly cos the admins threatened us with putting scabs in the mod team lol, but i think it's probably a good time to see what people still think about the subreddit.
given that this is subreddit is almost a decade old, i was thinking that maybe we should do something interesting with it, since it's been a fair few years since there's been much activity back to it's peak in like 2015/2016.
Will you restrict posts in solidarity with other subs
No, I don't rly see the point since the activity on the subreddit isn't that high so it won't matter too much
what'd you have in mind to spice shit up
tbh idk, i don't use reddit too much anymore but i think it'd be a nice time waster for me if i started running weekly stuff like music
new mods?
i mean, the sub doesn't need more mods but most of the team (me included) doesn't use reddit much anymore
give me some ideas!

And here I thought the 2000s were the peak of humanity

I know this forum is meant to mock people who think they're born in the wrong generation and nostalgia blinded, but what sucks about being a kid growing up in certain decades means that kid might love that decade because they're kids with underdeveloped brains who don't know any better and think everything is great and they don't care about tragedies while people who are older than them mostly hate the decade these kids are growing up in, especially if it's a decade that's horrible.

Am I the only one who thinks that being a kid isn't all that special? I feel like for me, there are some things that I think I never got to experience as a kid that others did which is why I feel this way since as an adult, I've become more conscious of what I want to do, but maybe it's just because reading comments like this makes me stupid since it's making me wish I was negative number years old. This comment was also written on a song about addiction and drugs like wtf?

I personally just find it kinda dumb as an avid listener of 90s and 2000s music despite never having lived or listened to music during the times as I was just a baby in the 2000s. I never understood this mentality of acting like they were lucky to be born at such a time that makes others unlucky like they're special as they can still listen to that music today. I'm grateful to listen to music of any era and with streaming and Youtube which I usually use, it's a lot easier now than it was in the 90s, that's why I'm glad to be born at such a time where it's easier to listen to music than before.

And why do these videos always rely on popular Western properties and not look outside of it? I mean there's more media outside of that. Why does it always have to be what's mainstream or trendy?

Plz tell me this is all subjective and just related to being a child in regards to the so called "golden age" and plus, the anime, music, and some of the flash games can still be played today. Having listened to a lot of music and watched a lot of anime from that time, some of it was pretty shit looking back. Heck, I discovered a lot of it as a grown ass adult in recent years some more as I was a toddler in the 2000s by the way. Sure, I was late, but I don't care at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if in 20 years, they say this exact same shit about 2026.

Not QUITE sure if this fits, but at the same time, it already feels derivative of doomer crap.
