It's October already!
SpOOky season has begun! Or as some Lego fans like to call it, "MOCtober" is here. This is my favorite time of year to build, because it means getting out the Halloween sets and starting those pre-build plans for the Winter Village. Autumn is also a great time to attend Lego shows, so check out your local Lego Groups to see if they are participating in a Convention, Festival or Hobby Show nearby.
Let us know what's on your mind this month. What have you always wondered about? What rule do you want clarified, or changed? Do you have any suggestions you've been trying to find a chance to make? I won't promise that we will make the change(s) you want, but I will commit to explaining the reason we have the rules and policies we have.

DISCLAIMER: Now, I don't remotely think anyone in the design process/Lego corporate will read this, so this is 99.9% just for fun, but I was so surprised that this part/color combination has not existed yet in any set, and I could have sworn it did. :(
I have a soft spot for classic Space, and would love to have this little color mod/update to roll around my desk. Just putting it out there there, Lego! Just make ONE polybag car set with some green parts and a steering wheel. Octan can return! :D I believe in you!!
*steps off of small green soapbox*
(Thank you for your time.)

I wanted to share one of my submissions for the Lego X Marvel Ideas challenge!
This is my entry for the Vehicle Build, The Ghost Fighter! (Cosmic Ghost Rider X Tie-Fighter) The build includes 800+ pieces, a awesome motorcycle, and even Baby Thanos!
Voting starts December 15, and i am hoping it does well cause this would be a "fire" Lego set.
Would you like to see The Ghost Fighter as a real set? Let me know! 🔥
Thanks for checking out my build!

Dropped one of the neon saucers while taking pics. Having all these sets separated by color really is time consuming to find each piece lol.

One of my hobbies is recreating historic buildings in LEGO — not as exact replicas, but as studies in architectural proportion adapted to the LEGO system. This is my interpretation of Cincinnati's Grand Opera House, built in 1853 and destroyed by fire in 1901.

This MOC was made my my CoLab's monthly build contest with the theme being "fall favorites". I set out to make a fall tree that didn't use Lego's leaf pieces and really like how this pixelated look turned out. Hope you enjoy it!

Almost two years ago, I saw an unfinished LEGO set (presumably set 10295) next to an escalator at Banqiao Station in New Taipei City (Taiwan), but I didn’t see the person who built it. I waited a few minutes, but no one came by to finish it, so I left. Recently, while organizing my photos, I came across some pictures I took back then, and it got me thinking about a few things:
Why build LEGO in a public place? Have any of you ever built LEGO in a public place? (Besides at home, I’ve only ever built at school.)
What do you usually have on hand when building LEGO? (I usually bring a table and chair, but this builder had moisturizer and a few other items.)
What effect does listening to music have on building LEGO? (I don’t usually listen to music, but seeing the headphones on the building instruction made me think about this.)
Is that tool with the blue handle a pair of diagonal pliers? Is it used instead of a LEGO Separator?
Judging by the photo, this LEGO set looks like it’s secondhand. What do you think?

All sets with a US retail price, 2010–2026 (10,150 sets), adjusted to Sep 2026 dollars using CPI from U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
I made an interactive LEGO stats tool and wanted to share this interesting finding. If there's other stats you'd be interesting in, let me know!

I loved the step where it basically just says " take those thans green pieces you have left and just toss them into the well"

While I started building stuff nearly 20 years ago, I got my first LEGO set only in 2012. So I experienced the classic 90s LEGO vibe, just not through official sets.
After watching countless reviews of classic Town sets the other day, I decided to recreate one using the parts I had on hand. I went with 6594, replaced some now-retired parts with more modern alternatives, and couldn't resist modding it a bit.
Honestly, this was one of the best building experiences I've had in a long time.
I'm sorry to be an old man yelling at clouds, but I wish we got more sets like these instead of more display sets. But... at least a man can dream.

Hey fellow brick builders, we should know about lego mikikits from the games. People in the past have tried to recreate them, but there was always the issue to recreate it 100% because of the antenna. I THINK I have the work around with modern pieces, but it looks a bit awkward

I found the Gotham art, used but complete with the box and manuals and minifigs! For original retail price. Here it is next to the Wicked art that's similar style of set. And here's both of them with all the pop-away panels removed to show the hidden stuff. (I might have missed panels on the Gotham one). I hope Lego makes more of this style.
Plan is to disassemble it by using the instructions backwards, and putting it back into 44 numbered Ziploc bags. Then re-building it. Because I'm very happy I own it now but I still want to build it.
edit: I was missing the panel with The Riddler. Found it now lol. Seems kinda fitting that his would be trickiest to find

For the fun of the ALT BUILD trend recently. I made an ALT BUILD logo, an Alt Build of my STAR WARS logo.

My daughter has played club volleyball for the past six years, and about three years ago, I realized I was spending way too much time sitting around between games. We'd have 2–3 hours to kill, and I was tired of scrolling through my phone or being forced to make small talk with other parents. So I thought, why not use that time to build LEGO?
And let me tell you, it was one of the best ideas I've ever had!
For the past three years, I've brought a backpack loaded with a couple of LEGO sets to just about every tournament. Whenever we had a long break between games, I'd find a spot, pull out a set, and start building. It was awesome! The time flew by, and I got to spend hours doing something I actually enjoyed instead of just sitting around waiting for the next game.
We typically traveled to 7–8 out-of-state tournaments each season, and with most tournaments lasting an entire three-day weekend, I could easily knock out a couple of sets per trip.
Over time, I became pretty good at the whole process. I figured out what sets traveled best, what supplies to bring, where to sit, how to keep everything organized, and how to pack things up quickly when it was time to head to the next game.
Now, I'll admit, you definitely get some funny looks when you're a grown man sitting in the middle of a volleyball tournament building LEGO. 😂 But surprisingly, I had a ton of people come up and tell me what a great idea it was. Others would stop to ask what I was building, check out the sets, or even sit down and talk LEGO for a while. It actually turned into a pretty good conversation starter!
One thing I learned was that certain sets worked a lot better than others. I'm not the biggest Technic fan, but I discovered that Technic sets and the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection were absolutely perfect for tournament building. They were compact, relatively easy to transport, and sturdy enough that I didn't have to worry about them falling apart every time I packed up.
My secret transportation method? I'd wrap whatever I was building in a towel that I'd temporarily "borrow" from the hotel, stuff it back into my backpack, and pull it out during the next break. Worked like a charm! 😂
Looking back, I probably got more LEGO building done during those volleyball weekends than I ever would have sitting at home. What started as a way to kill a couple of hours between games turned into one of my favorite parts of traveling for tournaments. And I got to watch my daughter play volleyball along the way. Pretty hard to beat that combination!
