I'm honestly not sure how many of you in this sub know about this app.

It's basically letterboxd for music, or lastfm but more like a ... Yeah letterboxd kind of thing.

So I was wondering if someone knows a way to batch entry lastfm data to grooves app. I listen to a ton of albums and artists and it's going to be a pain in the ahh if I try to manually enter every album I've listened so far.

Since lastfm already has most of the data inside it, a convenient way to transfer them over to grooves would be very helpful.

Let me know if anyone knows a way, if not I might make some terminal based service or something for this if I'm able to get some api keys someday, if anyone is interested in that, let me know, we can build together.

I'm looking for a free working alternative to Spotlistr for converting my last.fm top overall tracks (account: affishal) into a Spotify playlist, preferably able to do more than 1000 songs. Thank you!!

Something of a niche question but does anyone have experience with the Apple Music app in a Rivian, and do you know if it ever updates the playcounts to things you listen to in your library? If it does, I can scrobble it whenever with the last.fm app on my phone, but I am hearing that it may never update the playcounts at all (which is a problem for other reasons).

I just released LibrestFM, a free open-source (GPL-3.0) desktop and Android app.

Merges Last.fm, Libre.fm, ListenBrainz and Spotify history, no double counting

Reversible auto-cleanup (remasters, feat., double scrobbles)

Stats, per-artist/album/track pages, mixes and discoveries

Android scrobbler with synced lyrics

Everything stays on your device, no account, no server

Tested on Fedora and Android phone, Windows/Debian/others untested. Feedback welcome!

The names of the albums and artists I’ve been listening to on streaming platforms can be found on their respective album covers in the first image. For the second collage (apologies for the quality; I pulled these images directly from Discogs), I’ll list them here, from left to right:

Quebrar Quebrou - ANTCONSTANTINO

King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown — Augustus Pablo & King Tubby

Violão Brasileiro / Brazilian Guitar - Various Artists

Tracy Chapman - Tracy Chapman

Let's Get It On — Marvin Gaye

Restless Faithful Desperate - Kath Bloom / Loren Connors

Keith Jarrett - The Köln Concert

Getting Killed - Geese

Cycles - Frank Sinatra

Me Chama de Gato Que Eu Sou Sua - Ana Frango Elétrico

Rubber Soul - The Beatles

Todas ao vivo - Marina Lima

I’m curious to hear what you think of this selection! Does anyone else here collect vinyl? I’d love to hear what you’ve been listening to lately, and I’m always open to recommendations based on these albums!

Apparently you can do that as well as create a BIO using last FM. However, you need minimal requirements. In order to even upload a photo. Of yourself on last FM. Is there any way that I could have someone else do that for me? Is there some kind of interview process that I need to partake in? I am confused and utterly clueless as to how to get my Wikipedia up.

Artists I've been listening to lately for reference. Nothing longer than 15 minutes please!

I honestly do not know how I’d describe my music taste. It’s very much all over the place, so I’m interested to see what other people’s compatibility with me is like!

When I play records, I like to scrobble them. Typically, I use OpenScrobbler, but sometimes I forget. I was wondering if there would be a way to say to the google home speaker beside my record player to "Scrobble Album Name by Album Artist on Last.fm", so that I can do that as soon as I put the record on. Could this be built as a plugin somehow by someone with more tech savvy than me?

I’ve been on last fm for a few years now just curious

I've got a new last.fm game.

Tap on your 'neighbours' tab. Choose someone you are super compatible with. View their 'Library' tab of 'all time' artists. Scroll down the list until you find an artist you've never heard of. Give them a listen, and if you like it, let your neighbour know! And don't forget to tell them about the game and get them to pass it on. Let's blow up last.fm's shoutboxes!

You can use this template:

"Hey neighbour

Thanks for inadvertently introducing me to [artist].

I found your profile by playing the 'Thank your neighbour'game. You can play too by...

My favourite track is... They remind me of..."

Here's my top 10

Holding Absence's newest album is incredible!

This keeps on happening to all of Japanese artists I've been listening to. Same with Jean Michel Jarre (Jean-Michel Jarre instead). Does anyone know where the problem might be? Does it have something to do with Spotify?

There is an indie band called @. Their new album Autosmile is really great. The problem is last.fm doesn't understand @ is the band's name. It currently is being scrobbled as [unknown]. Has anyone seen this problem or know how to fix it?

My 200k scrobble song was 'This Modern Love' by Bloc Party. What were some of your songs for certain milestones? Was it intentional or not? Let me know. 😁
