I'm new to krita, and the thing that annoys me the most when using this program is that the brushes are green, or gold or whatever, it's not grey but green. How do I change this, or can I even change this?

Not that I hate green lol, green is actually my fave colour.

I drew a blanket appaloosa horse running through a field at night with a crescent moon in the background. I also thought a few fireflies wouldn't hurt, and when I added them, they somehow gave a fantasy look to the artwork 🧚‍♀️

Fan art of the character Viper from the game Valorant, by Riot Games. I made this illustration in Krita, and I tried to include some details and my rendering process in the post. First, I made the sketch, then after doing the lineart I discarded the sketch layer, then I did the blocking of the base painting, chose the colors and filled it in, and then I made two shadow layers in multiply mode and then two light layers in canvas mode.

I put my heart and soul into this artwork for a few days lol. Am getting used to drawing on PC and more specifically Krita. I love this software.

Now I'm hungry

Another animation I made in Krita

I am going f*****ing insane. MyPaint engine blending brushes look disgusting in 8bit integer colorspace, but they are completely broken and use random colors in 16bit colorspaces.

Primary reason why I use Krita is to have access to MyPaint brushes in a fully featured program (and also because MyPaint refuses to work properly on my Windows, apparently.)

Left bright blotch is the brush - using the selected dark brown - as painted in 16 bit color space.

Darker scribble below it are appropriate colors from 8bit, but the horrible banding makes it pretty much unusable.

Right bright splotch over the eye is how it looks in 16 bit integer.

Investigating it seems that Change Color L settings are what is broken - setting it to -0.05 makes the color close, and just two hundredth change to -0.07 makes the color turn completely black. Change Color V has the same issue.

Why are MyPaint brushes claimed to be a feature, when their biggest boon - great color blending - is completely busted and unusable?
