My story with my 2026 Kia Carnival SX Prestige Hybrid catching fire is finally coming to an end. The vehicle is being sent back to Kia for further investigation, and I’m now waiting for a check refunding 100% of all the payments I’ve made.

It was honestly really sad to say goodbye to such a wonderful vehicle, despite everything that happened.

TL;DR questioning the $6000 estimate to replace the AVN monitor for what looks like mostly a cosmetic chip

Some backstory: I was acting in a short we filmed this past weekend and we used the interior of my car for two scenes. The camera guy was adjusting the camera and hit my screen (I was not in the car at the time but others were and witnessed it happen) and it chipped the screen a bit. I won’t get into the legality of our contracts but ultimately he would be responsible. You can see the chip in the pictures. Tried as best as I could with it being small.

I went to my dealership today to have them look and give me an estimate on the costs, and they came back with an estimate of $5997.44, which seems asinine for a small chip in the screen if they suggesting replacing the entire unit. I know it’s one piece but it seems like it’s a bit too high even out of warranty.

My Sportage is a 2026 X-Pro Prestige. The other caveat is I’m leasing the car. My questions are:

1. Is this estimate accurate?
2. Is it worth even having it fixed?

If not, I’m planning on calling finance at the dealership (I’ve been with this specific dealership for 14 years now) to see what that means once my lease is up. I’m sure they’d probably sell it as-is or replace the screen for a much lower price than my estimate. I just don’t know yet if they would hold me accountable for the $6000 bill at my lease-end.

My car was working perfectly today until I stopped at Winners to return something. When I tried to start it again, my car wouldn't start! I attempted to jump-start it, but it still wouldn't turn over, so I'm guessing the issue is with the starter. When I try to start it, I hear rapid clicking sounds. Do you think the starter is the problem? Should I take my car to an auto shop to have the starter replaced, or should I attempt to do it myself? Where can I find an affordable starter, either online or in person? TIA

The 2027 Kia Seltos Hybrid was supposed to be released in the US in the 4th quarter of 2026 (later rephrased to "late 2026").

Does anyone working at a Kia dealership or otherwise have any idea of how likely this car is to come out by the end of November 2026 (for Thanksgiving week sales)?

And is it going to be priced similarly to the gasoline only version of the 2027 Kia Seltos that is already on the market?

2022 Kia sorento sx

I noticed there’s a rattle under the steeering column and it’s usually when I’m driving and riding around 1500rpm. I’ve also tried in park, and same thing around 1500rpm. It seems the vibrations is coming from the area circled in red. If I put some pressure it suppresses the sound slightly but the vibration is still there.

Question is what is this piece? And/or what could the sound and vibration be?

Is Kia connect down for anyone ?
I’ve tried using it and it keeps saying car unresponsive but connect hasn’t connected to my car for an hour or so

I bought a used 2024 Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid in 2025 and haven't serviced it yet.

Should I take it to a Kia dealership for servicing, or would Walmart, Firestone, or another service center be fine?

Since it's a plug-in hybrid, I'm wondering if it requires any special maintenance or if regular service centers can handle it just as well.

2024 Kia Carnival Sx Prestige. I replaced the glovebox in-cabin air filter. Immediate high pitched whistle when air blowing. Checked and the cover wasn’t properly seated and it was frankly very difficult to get it perfectly back on - I think the aftermarket filter doesn’t fit 100% perfectly. However with this came a low, oscillating noise that coincides with fan speed - fast rumble when fast, slow rumble when slow. My suspicion is maybe some debris fell down into the blower wheel, because the noise continues when I pull the filter out for a quick test. Looking for suggestions/next steps. Only 28K and fully warrantied but I’m sure not for this 🤷‍♂️

I dropped off the car yesterday at 8 am and I had to call them yesterday and today for an update. Is this normal? They close within an hour and they haven't even called to update me. They also left my car unlocked overnight

Hello im after some advice if possible.

I purchased a Kia sportage 1.6 petrol 18 plate in September last year from a kia dealership for £10k. I purchased a 3 year warranty from Automotion as well. It had 63k miles on the clock and now has 70k.

Around Christmas time there started with problems, the oil was burning like crazy and the car was getting stuck in reverse. It went back to kia who put in a new clutch. Then the gearbox broke and I had no 2nd gear. This was covered by warranty. When I picked the car up the ABS sensor lights were on, it went back and again covered by warranty. They said the oil was ok in normal consumption levels. Now the oil is dropping again and now they've said its the piston rings. The warranty company want me to pay £1300 to strip the engine so Kia can take photos of the piston rings and then they will decide if this is covered by warranty.

Im stressed as they did say it could be classed as wear and tear and kia are not accepting any responsibility at all. But if the warranty company doesn't cover this the bill will be more than the car! And I would then have to pay £1300 for the labour.

Ive contacted head office Kia who sided with the dealership and im at a total loss. Ive had constant stress and I feel ive been robbed as the car has serious mechanical faults. I did pay by credit card so could potentially claim under section 75 but could take months and I really need a car. Any advice would be helpful.
