Hello!
Last Wednesday, the 14th, I took my wife’s Seltos in for some routine maintenance, the car wasn’t starting, and an engine code diagnostic (code P044200).
The next day, the 15th, I was told the battery was the cause of the starting problem, and that there was a damaged charcoal canister causing the Evap code. They told me they would need to order a new one and that it may take until next week (now this week), and that was the last I’d heard.
Today my wife gets a notification that her car’s gas is low. We found that odd as we dropped it off with 1/3-1/2 of a tank. Then we did a little digging. The car has been driven over 100 miles collectively, and for 5.5 hours. It has stayed overnight at someone’s house 3 times. They also went to numerous gas stations, a restaurant, the bank, etc. They were also driving it during the wait where a part was supposedly needing to be replaced.
Now I know that test driving is an essential and needed part of some maintenance work, but this seems excessive. Especially because it stayed overnight at someone’s house multiple times.
I already sent an email to the service director calling attention to this and talked to the service director. And of course my service advisor called me about 30 minutes after that telling me the car was ready.
TLDR; dealership drove my car over 100 collective miles and a total of 5.5 hours after I brought it in for a few service items.
Anyone else find this odd?
