BC Conservative MLA Kristina Loewen Controversies

Transcript for those who don’t want to watch the video:

That she’s in the BC legislature should concern you.
This is Kristina Loewen [MLA for Kelowna Centre], one of the least qualified politicians in Canada.
Why do I know this? I [Bryce Tippe] ran against her as the BC Green candidate in 2024. And though I was asked to run again by the BC Greens, I instead endorsed the BC NDP candidate Loyal Wooldridge because of what’s at stake.
And I think she’s aware of how unqualified she is. That’s why she mostly avoids interviews or public events where her qualifications and views will be under public scrutiny.
But because I’m so generous, I’m going to platform her views and qualifications today in this video.
Like many BC Conservatives, she fearmongers about the LGBTQ+ community, but she takes it a step further.
During the 2024 election, a Kelowna resident wrote into Castanet detailing an interaction they had with Kristina Loewen while she was door-knocking.
In this interaction, she essentially claimed that SOGI was making kids turn transgender. She spread fearmongering about surgeries or medical interventions in youth that don’t really happen in Canada.
She also claimed, with zero evidence, that school libraries had books that violate the Criminal Code of Canada. One example was a book showing two young boys performing oral sex on one another.
She also opposes sexual education. Loewen said that she doesn’t believe kids should be learning about sex until they’re adults.
But her conspiracy theories aren’t just around the LGBTQ+ community. Her stances on public health and medicine are probably even more concerning.
She made posts in support of RFK Jr. and his stances on public health, a.k.a. she’s anti-vax.
Do we want to replicate what’s currently going on in the U.S.?
Prior to her candidacy, she was a member of an MLM that sold essential oils. In various posts, she talked about how essential oils were a form of healthcare and claimed that essential oils made her husband’s asthma disappear.
And for people who love animals, many essential oils are toxic to cats, and she has four cats. What?
Here she is talking about toxicity, sharing a post claiming that sunscreen is toxic and that people shouldn’t wear it.
And apparently she hates science, which is on brand for her.
Like many people who believe conspiracy theories, they always talk about chemicals and toxic substances.
On a social media post, somebody was explaining the concept of toxicity, which is about dosage. Her response to this was, “Oh science again. Great.”
You know, the methodology that allows us to make good evidence-based public policy?
She’s also a liar.
In the 2024 election and this election, BC Conservatives talk about affordability. She claims to be passionate about affordable housing, but she actually worked in real estate.
She was upset with Castanet for posting about how housing prices might drop. And here she is assuring people that they won’t drop.
Why?
She didn’t want them to drop because that hurts her and her other real estate friends’ income.
How can you be passionate about affordable housing when you don’t want housing prices to drop?
This is just some of the stuff that I could fit into this video, but there is more.
Kristina Loewen does not deserve the honour of representing Kelowna residents. She does not have the quality of character, belief system, or expertise to do so effectively.
British Columbians and Kelowna residents deserve better than a culture war. They deserve better than incompetence. They deserve somebody who prioritizes their constituents and their day-to-day lives.
Kristina Loewen isn’t that.
And this is why you should vote for Loyal Wooldridge for Kelowna Centre.

Former BC Green Candidate Endorses BC NDP Candidate Loyal Wooldridge for Kelowna-Centre

Transcript for those who don’t want to watch the video:

I [Bryce Tippe] was asked to run again for Kelowna Centre by the BC Greens, but instead, I’m going to endorse a candidate from another party.
This is because I harbour some guilt about the last election.
Due to vote splitting in 2024, I ran and got 1,111 votes. The BC NDP candidate, Loyal Wooldridge, lost by 40 votes. Because of that vote splitting, the more qualified candidate lost.
As such, I’m officially endorsing Loyal Wooldridge for the BC legislature in Kelowna Centre.
Why? He’s been a city councillor for years, so he has lots of experience.
Most rare for a politician, he has good character. He’s a kind person and always treated me nicely, even though a lot of the time I attacked the NDP and him.
And he would be a far better contribution to the BC legislature than Kristina Loewen, who is the current BC Conservative incumbent.
She went from working in real estate, assuring people that real estate prices would not drop while promising to fix real estate prices in her campaign, working at an MLM trying to sell essential oils as a form of healthcare, being anti-vax, and spreading misinformation about the LGBTQ+ community, to somehow winning the race and becoming an MLA in the BC legislature.
And she is committed to wanting to vote to repeal DRIPA this time.
Let’s ensure that the candidate who’s actually qualified and deserves to be in the BC legislature wins.
Vote Loyal Wooldridge for Kelowna Centre.

Did Kristina Lowen compare COVID to the Holocaust?

Hey guys so I’ve been seeing a lot of people talking about this- and Kristina is coming to my workplace tomorrow to try and convince some of the elderly to vote for her- many of whom had family in WW2.
Did she really compare COVID to the Holocaust? Does anyone have the receipts?

Tom Dyas should see this win less as a mandate and more as a warning. It was a close, deeply divided race, and that should tell him the city isn’t fully confident in his leadership. He should lead with humility, recognize that division, and work to earn the trust of those who didn’t vote for him.

Was a beautiful day to hike Spion Kop! Though a tad windy, didn't detract from the super nice view from the top and on the way up. Such an amazing trail I plan on hiking it again before the winter weather gets going.

Muniple election

I recently discovered that only a third of eligible voters actually voted in the 2022 municipal election. Voting in the municipal election directly impacts decisions on crime, housing, and traffic. I think it is fair to say we all want change on these issues. I don't think enough people know that these are issues where decisions are made right here in Kelowna, not in Victoria or Ottawa.

So if you really want to be part of the decsion fo vote.
