Hey all, I’m a huge fan of animal crossing and recently I had a discussion with my friend - she’s 100% sure it’s ai. Me? Not so sure. Yes it’s a cheap knock off from temu but is it ai?

saw this picture at a cafe today that also sells prints. i’m very confident this ‘photo’ is either entirely AI generated or at least edited with it. My parents think it’s a normal photo and it would be crazy if they were selling AI pictures.

Been looking at a few of them for my binder. At first, I thought a few of them looked nice but looking a bit closer I'm noticing telltale signs of AI. The company website does not mention AI, just 'designed in the UK'.

This has sooooo many upvotes but looks so fake to me. The movement of the ears especially.

It was about time that I change my wallpaper to something autumn focused. This is so cute and reminds me of my husband and I but the general vibe, the typo, the umbrella placement and the house looks AI.

INTRODUCTION:

Im an artist on instagram and follow and support small artists because they deserve their work to be seen!
HOWEVER I have a feeling that this artist is generating AI images, and then printing them to trace them over with pen. They have around 4K followers. (I covered their name and signature to protect their privacy)

I don’t want to support AI art, but at the same time I’m confused and I’m not sure if it is or not (that’s why I need your help).
I also wouldn’t want to stop supporting an artist thinking they use AI when they actually don’t.

WHAT MAKES ME THINK IT’S AI:

Image 1: as soon as I saw it, it really gave me AI vibes. The composition…idk, it looks AI-ish. The sign is super weird, and the confetti sometimes looks warped and weird. An artist would never choose to make them look like that in some specific spots.

Image 2: same drawing, zoomed on the sign. What the hell is that?? It looks like that standard AI font. Also the quality of the writing looks different from the parts in ink…as if they retraced the drawing with ink but then didn’t trace over the writing.

Image 3: The drawing feels like something AI would come up with, and also (idk if it’s something instagram does) but it literally says AI???

Image 4: Posted today and it’s what prompted me to make this post. I love and adore Jack Skellington and that is NOT how his bowtie looks. The rest is right, so I don’t feel like an artist would make the conscious choice of drawing it like that. I feel like the AI got confused and just gave him a normal tie, and a dress shirt(???) and then added the side-thingies to the jacket.

Image 5: this is a screenshot from a video they posted of them drawing with ink over what I think they’re passing out as a sketch…but if you look closely you can see it looks printed out. It has that halftone printing effect (yk, the dots)

Image 6: It again feels like AI…the texture is very weird.

I hate we even have to go through this…AI is taking away artist’s jobs and as an artist you really shouldn’t be using it…

A guy in Kansas City, Kansas posted this photo last night of a grizzly bear in Kansas City. We maybe have black bears in this area, but not grizzlies. So is this Ai, because he’s arguing with people that it isn’t.

Its just weird how the bow ends tangled and the shading on some of it are, its a very popular artist and none of their other tattoos look ai generated

I asked them if it was gen ai and they took offence so i dont know :/

The way the bear sat down looked off. The man’s right boot looked a little smaller than his left. And the whole situation on its own just seems unrealistic.

I bought a colouring book and in this picture I was colouring the river, but then I got confused where the grass was and where the river went because I thought it was the continuation of river, but it looks like there's grass there in a red circle?

I don't know if it's AI or not, so I'd be grateful if you could help identify.

One of my favorite youtubers has just created new merch designs and I am highly skeptical that they are AI generated. I assume they are given the style and repeated of each design :(

Is there any justifying this as a creator? They are approaching middle age and it seems to me there is a generational gap with understanding the negatives of AI use.

I was supposed to get a Ponyo themed tattoo. The artist asked me to pick some scenes I liked. Firstly, this isn't even close to the design I asked for.

I'm 99% sure it's AI. I called out the artist she didn't outright deny it just* said she "made it in Procreate". When I pointed out stuff like the two sets of feet, four fingers/toes, the fact that some of the hands and feet are just circles with dots, she doubled down and said "those were simply minor tracing errors" mind you this was supposed to be a final draft and was sent to me at 11pm the night before a 10 am appointment.

Her explanation makes no sense to me. How can you make an error and trace two sets of feet that didn't exist in the original image.

Just very annoyed. These are characters and images that already exist and she couldn't even be bothered to trace them? There were other red flags with the artist so I ultimately cancelled and won't be getting tattooed by this person.

Edit: * wonky wording - changing my previous wording from "but" to "just" - I know what Procreate is :) what I meant to say was that she didn't outright deny it verbatim by saying "no, actually, this is not made with AI" more so that she just responded "I made this in procreate" when I said it looked like AI- which to me is her implying she drew it herself without outright/vehemently denying using AI

I think they really want my money...

The image looks AI generated, Google image analysis also said so immediately.

Even the sound is very generic and sounds very raw and low mastered.

Is it mostly AI?

I am really sad to see so much low effort music and artworks now, since AI tools are widely available.
