Help Recommended subs for promoting/sharing apps
Hey everyone,
I’m an indie iOS developer with a handful of apps on the App Store, and I’m trying to figure out how to share them on Reddit the right way. I don’t want to come across as spammy, and I’ve seen enough removed posts and angry mod messages to know it’s easy to get this wrong.
A few things I’d love to hear from other devs:
- Where do you post? Which subreddits have actually been receptive to app launches or updates?
- What format works? Straight launch announcement, a “here’s what I learned building this” story, a free promo code giveaway, a feedback request?
- How do you handle self-promo rules? Do you build up karma and comment history first, or use the weekly self-promo threads?
- Has it actually moved the needle? Did Reddit drive real downloads, reviews, or useful feedback, or was it mostly noise?
- Any mistakes to avoid? Things that got your post removed or downvoted into oblivion.
Any advice, war stories, or subreddit recommendations would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Help Stack Smash: a game based on Lagori, the "seven stones" indian street game. Looking for beta testers
Hi everyone! I'm a solo developer, and I've turned the street game I grew up playing in India, Lagori (Seven Stones / Pithu), into a chaotic little party game for iPhone and iPad.
How it plays: one team throws a ball to knock down a stack of seven stones, then races to rebuild it while the other team tries to tag them out with the ball. Finish the stack and you score: LAGORI!
What's in the beta:
- Play against bots (Classic, Quick Stack, Survival and a Daily Challenge)
- Nearby party: play with friends in the same room, no internet needed
- Online matches through Game Center: quick match, invite friends, or SharePlay. Empty seats fill with bots.
- Team voice chat in multiplayer
- 4 arenas with hazards (spinning sweepers, slippery ice, wind)
- A game speed slider, if you want more time to react
What I'd love feedback on:
- Is it fun? Are the controls clear?
- Multiplayer: does joining work, and does it stay smooth?
- Anything confusing, broken or annoying
If something goes wrong, tap the 🐞 button on the main menu to send me a log, or take a screenshot and use TestFlight's feedback option.
Needs iOS 18 or later. No sign-up needed (online play uses your Game Center account). Free.
Thanks for helping! I'll be in the comments.

Steady Tally is now ready for iPhone Duo (closed, laptop mode and fully open)
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a habit tracker called Steady Tally for a while, and this week I finally got it working properly on the Duo. Figured this was the right place to show it off (video above).
Closed, you just get your habits on the outer screen and tap to log them. Half-open, it turns into a little laptop with the details on top and your list on the bottom. Fully open, your list is on the left and the habit’s whole history is on the right. Getting the fold transitions to feel smooth took way longer than I’d like to admit lol
Honestly I know a habit tracker isn’t the most original idea. I tried a bunch of them and they were either way too complicated or just ugly, and I wanted something clean. I also wanted to log things in different ways: sometimes it’s just done or not done, sometimes it’s 6 glasses of water, sometimes it’s a 10 minute timer, sometimes it’s “did I take my pill and when.” So I built the one I wanted.
It’s already been out on the App Store for regular iPhones. It’s not free (sorry!), I’m just one guy trying to get it out there. I’d really love feedback from people who actually use the Duo every day, especially if something feels off when you fold or unfold it.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/steady-tally-habit-tracker/id6815726433
Thanks for checking it out 🙏

Get a feed of the ratings your iOS app receives
Do not understand why apple has not made an app that tracks ratings (without reviews) on a daily basis. So i made one, hope you check it out.

Has anyone else experienced abnormally long App Review wait after resubmitting?
This is my second time publishing an iOS app, but my first submission under this account, which is a new business account.
When I published my previous app in 2024, the review turnaround between submissions before it was approved was around 2–3 days. Afterwards it was usually only a day or two.
For my current app:
- September 18: Initial submission
- September 24: Reviewed and rejected
- September 26: Resubmitted
- October 3: Reviewed and rejected again. The request was to add some functionality to the demo account; it didn’t require a code change. I made the requested update and resubmitted less than an hour later.
- October 12: Still waiting for review
I know review times can vary, but this is quite a bit longer than my previous experience. Has anyone else had a similar wait recently, especially on a new business account? Is there anything useful to check, or is it just a matter of waiting?
UPDATE 10/14: I got approved last night after about 10 days since the last submission. Happy to be through this process. Thank you all for the advice and best of luck with your own apps!

I built a tool to help your app get found, not just published
That's really hard to get rating & comments for iOS app
My app has around 100 paid users. But I even can't get one rating or comments from them.
After they did in-app purchase and use the credits, I would guide them do a rating or comment. But it seems not working. 😂

I built one place for the app store work that comes after building the app

Your app is ready, but the store listing still needs screenshots, keywords, descriptions and translations. Then you get to do it again for the next update.
I built AppDrift to bring that work into one workspace for iOS and Android.

You can research and track keywords, compare competitor listings, generate editable screenshot campaigns from your app screens, and write or localize your listing in 60+ languages. Once you’ve reviewed the changes, you can send supported updates to App Store Connect and Google Play.
There’s a free plan with unlimited standard screenshot exports and daily tracking for five keywords. No card needed.
I’m also running Founding 100 for the first 100 eligible first-time subscribers: Basic $4.99/month, Indie $9.99/month or Studio $19.99/month. Your founding price stays while that subscription remains active. There were 57 spots left.

i built an iOS app that turns your city into an exploration game, now i'm rebuilding almost everything
been working on an app called Overdrive for a few months now.
the idea is basically to make driving around feel like an open-world game. you explore streets, fill in your map, see stats after each drive and connect with other drivers.
it started as something i wanted to use myself and somehow turned into a real app with 150+ users.
now i'm working on 2.0 and ended up redesigning almost the entire thing lol
new UI, XP, achievements, driver profiles, crews and a lot more focus on making exploring actually feel rewarding.
attached some previews of the redesign.
current version if anyone wants to check it out:

would love feedback, especially from other iOS devs.

Roast my new App Store screenshots, post yours and I’ll do the same :)
Hey everyone, so I updated my App Store screenshots recently for my app Scrollified, I won’t write about what it does because I would like to see if you can guess from the screenshots, feel free to roast them and post your own screenshots and I’ll do the same.
Any feedback would help! ☺️
Let’s help each other! 🙌

iPhone Duo Pixelmator Pro mockups/templates
I'm really surprised Apple hasn't offered iPhone Duo screenshot templates/mockups for the Duo on at least Pixelmator Pro. Unless they exist on the developer website and I can't find them.

Double-exposure photography app (REFRAKT) — free, no subs, looking for feedback
What you can do with it:
Flexible Layering: Combine your base shot with built-in texture packs, street-photography-inspired overlays, your own library, or take a fresh shot directly through the camera.
Tactile Soft Masking: An on-screen circular mask you can drag, resize, feather, invert, or hide handles on to carve out your subject and seat the exposure naturally.
Blend Modes & Opacity: Quick cycling through blend modes (Screen, Lighten, etc.) with real-time opacity controls.
Dedicated Darkroom HUD: Fast, minimalist tools for balancing the composite:
2D dual-axis pad for Saturation & Contrast
Temperature & Tint adjustment
EV Exposure slider
Levels tool with an interactive histogram for clipping blacks and white.
Editable Sessions: Save compositions as editable projects so you can come back and tweak them later, or export the final image.
Why I'm sharing:
The app is completely free—no subscriptions, paywalls, watermarks, or accounts required.

Merci d'avance :)

Beta Testing
Good morning, I have been building my own booking app for my small owner-operated transportation business. I am looking for the best advice for finding people to test it. People who actually care and will point out any issues. What is your best advice for this? I have tried family/friends but they all say the same thing “it looks good”. Thank you for any advice.
