My iPhone Duo review from a mini user
I’ve been a small phones enthusiast and user all my life. My mini gave up so it was time to jump to another smaller iPhone and the Duo was calling me.
The Duo is amazing with all its imperfections. In terms of size, it fits perfectly in my pockets and doesn’t fall since it’s short. My pockets are short rather than deep. However, it’s a wide boy, I do stretch my hand to reach those top corners. Nothing new since the mini had me shifting my hand to reach top icons as well. The Duo fits in my hand like a glove. I never felt I would drop it at all. I rest my index finger under the camera pump and I feel that’s a natural perfect way of using it single handed as well and typing with two hands. Typing with it folded is a pleasure since the keyboard layout is wider.
It’s undeniably heavy, but feels premium and high quality and the weight didn’t bother me much until now. The screen looks bigger than the mini however, using it feels smaller since you can’t fully utilize that screen with the thick black bar on the right side of the screen. I think all it needs a little update and optimization over time and the screen will feel naturally bigger.
Photos on it look amazingly great without zooming in.
I didn’t miss Face ID since Touch ID was so intuitive and fast in unlocking. I didn’t face once bad unlock. You simply have to setup your fingers on different angles during setup and you’ll be golden. It takes getting used. I haven’t used the inner screen much as I’m enjoying the Duo folded. However the inner screen really shocks me how good it looks and how immersive it is. In the attached photo the inner screen is next to a 17 pro max 😱
Sorry for my long review and thanks for your time reading.
