Donald Trump

: Donald Trump has frequently complained about being targeted by the IRS, stating for years that he was under continuous, unfair audits. While he argued that these ongoing audits prevented him from voluntarily releasing his tax returns, congressional investigations later revealed that the IRS actually failed to initiate its mandatory presidential audits during his first two years in office. Later, following a lawsuit against the IRS over the unauthorized disclosure of his tax data by a contractor, the Trump administration and the Department of Justice finalized a settlement that permanently barred the IRS from auditing or prosecuting past tax claims against Trump, his family, or his businesses. He didn't HAVE to. He chose to in order to prevent even the slightest look that he might be corrupt.
